Bogesund Castle

Bogesundslandet is a peninsular in Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. Most of the peninsular is occupied by the Bogesundslandet nature reserve.

Granholmen, or Västra Granholmen, is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in the Höggarnsfjärden waterway to the south of Vaxholm and Karlsudd and north of Stora and Lilla Höggarn. Administratively, it is in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County.Granholmen has no road connection to the mainland or other islands. It is served throughout the year by passenger ships of the Waxholmsbolaget, which call at a pier at the eastern end of the island, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.The neighbouring island is Edlunda, which was previously called Östra Granholmen. The two islands were originally named after Erik and Carl Fredrik Granholm, who bought them in the 1860s.

Karlsudd is a settlement in Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It is located at the south-eastern tip of the Bogesundslandet peninsula, but is not within the Bogesundslandet nature reserve that occupies most of that peninsular. It is also the only significant settlement within the Vaxholm Municipality that is on the Swedish mainland, rather than on islands of the Stockholm archipelago.Karlsudd has a mixture of old and new buildings, and about 100 households live there. The land formerly belonged to the Brahe family, who owned the entire Bogesundslandet peninsular and Bogesund Castle. The castle lies some 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) west of Karlsudd.Karlsudd is connected to the Swedish road network. Storstockholms Lokaltrafik operates bus route 681 that passes the entrance to Karlsudd on its way to and from Vaxholm town. Karlsudd pier is also served throughout the ice-free period of the year by passenger ships of the Waxholmsbolaget, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.

The Pålsundsbron is a road bridge that links the island of Vaxön, and hence the town of Vaxholm, with the Bogesundslandet peninsular to the south of the town. It crosses the Pålsundet strait in the Stockholm archipelago.The bridge was opened in 1926 and provided the first fixed link between the town of Vaxholm and the Swedish mainland. Since 1965 it has been largely replaced in that role by the wider Vaxholmsbron bridge that links to the island of Kullö to the north-west of the town, carrying county road 274 on its way to the mainland. The Pålsundsbron is still used by local traffic between the town and Bogesundslandet.The approximately 170-metre (560 ft) long bridge spans the approximately 315-metre (1,033 ft) wide strait. The current bridge rests on three concrete foundations and has one narrow carriageway. The load-bearing structure consists of steel trusses and the navigation clearance is 2.00 metres (6 ft 7 in). Almost 150 metres (490 ft) of the strait's width is bridged with a road embankment that uses an earlier foundation relating to the 18th century Pålsund battery.After the cold war submarine incursions of the 1980s, a submarine net was installed under the bridge.

Edlunda, previously known as Östra Granholmen, is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in the Höggarnsfjärden waterway to the south of Vaxholm and Karlsudd and north of Stora and Lilla Höggarn. Administratively, it is in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County.Edlunda has no road connection to the mainland or other islands. It is served throughout the year by passenger ships of the Waxholmsbolaget, which call at a pier on the northern side of the island, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.The neighbouring island is Granholmen, sometimes called Västra Granholmen. The two islands were originally named after Erik and Carl Fredrik Granholm, who bought them in the 1860s. The new name Edlunda arose after Theodor Edlund bought the eastern part of the island in the 1880s and built Villa Edlunda, the first house on the island. This was followed by the heritage-listed Villa Ottarsberg in around 1884. Other early summer villas on Edlunda belonged to Berndt August Hjorth, Sten Dehlgren and Axel Notini.

Vaxholm is a city, urban area and the seat of Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It occupies the islands of Vaxön and Kullö in the Stockholm archipelago. The name Vaxholm comes from Vaxholm Fortress, which was constructed in 1549 on the adjacent islet of Vaxholmen. For historical reasons it has always been referred to as a city, despite the small number of inhabitants, which as of 2020 total was 6,151. Vaxholm Municipality prefers to use the designation Vaxholms stad (City of Vaxholm) for its whole territory, including 64 islets in the Stockholm archipelago, a usage which is somewhat confusing.

Kummelnäs is a locality situated on the island of Värmdö in Sweden's Stockholm archipelago. From an administrative perspective, it is located in Nacka Municipality and Stockholm County, and has 3,848 inhabitants as of 2010.

Vaxön is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. Until 2020, the urban area of Vaxholm, as defined by Statistics Sweden, was entirely contained within the island of Vaxön. However in that year, the adjacent island of Kullö was redefined as part of the urban area.Vaxön is linked to the Swedish mainland by a series of road bridges, and the Vaxholmsleden car ferry connects Vaxön to the island of Rindö across the Kodjupet strait. A bus service connects the island to Stockholm city, whilst the Waxholmsbolaget and other ferry lines also provide boat services to central Stockholm and many of the other islands of the Stockholm archipelago, using a mixture of classic steamers and modern fast passenger ferries.

Abborrträsk Nature Reserve (Swedish: Abborrträsks naturreservat) is a nature reserve in Stockholm County in Sweden. The nature reserve protects the lake Abborrträsk and the surrounding area, which consists mainly of different types of forest.

Abborrträsk is a small lake in Stockholm County, Sweden. It lies within the Abborrträsk Nature Reserve. The lake is surrounded by steep rock walls, but there is access to the water at the southern end. Bathing in the lake is possible although there is no official bathing place. Fishing in the lake with a line or rod is permitted and does not require a permit.

Gåshaga brygga (Gåshaga jetty) is the eastern terminus of the Lidingöbanan light rail in Lidingö east of central Stockholm, Sweden. It is possible to interchange with the Waxholmsbolaget archipelago boats at this stop. The current Gåshaga brygga stop was inaugurated on May 7, 2001 after rebuilding the stretch from the Gåshaga stop down to the water, a portion of the line that hadn't been in use since 1946.

Vaxholm Church (Swedish: Vaxholms kyrka) is a church in central Vaxholm, Sweden. The chapel is a single-nave building built in the Neoclassical style. It was completed in 1803 according to drawings by Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz and Olof Tempelman. It replaced an earlier wooden church in Vaxholm.
