Sandy Lane is a village and civil parish to the north of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 2,646.It is situated between Wilsden, Allerton and Nab Wood.

Thornton and Allerton (population 18,000 - 2021 ward profile) is a ward within the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council in the county of West Yorkshire, England, named after the villages of Thornton and Allerton around which it is drawn. The population has increased considerably over the past 20 years, with an increase of nearly a fifth (3,000) from the 2001 UK census. The ward has also urbanised considerably, particularly in Allerton, which has contributed to a notable swing from Conservative to Labour in the last decade, and can be described as primarily suburban. As well as the villages of Thornton and Allerton, the ward includes the smaller village of Sandy Lane, hamlets of Keelham and Little Egypt, and neighbourhoods of Stony Lane, Broom Hill, School Green and Leaventhorpe.

The local residents of the suburb pronounce it as Ollerton, 'Ol' rather than 'Al'.

Beckfoot Thornton (Thornton Grammar School until 2016) is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Thornton, West Yorkshire, England.It is an Academy administered by Beckfoot Trust since 2016 and formerly a comprehensive foundation school administered by Bradford City Council and the Thornton Grammar and Queensbury School Learning Trust. It offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs.

Thornton Viaduct is a disused railway viaduct crossing Pinch Beck valley at Thornton, in the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. It is 300 yards (270 m) long and has 20 arches. It was built in an S-shape to allow a smooth access to Thornton station. The viaduct was part of the GNR's Queensbury Lines running between Queensbury and Keighley. It stopped carrying passengers in 1955 but remained open to goods until the 1960s. At that time, the railway closed and the tracks were pulled up. The viaduct is now a Grade II listed building.The viaduct was reopened in 2008 as part of the Great Northern Railway Trail between Cullingworth and Queensbury along the track bed.This was the viaduct used in the episode of Last of the Summer Wine entitled "Three Men and a Mangle" where they hoisted the mangle up from the road.

Wilsden is a village and civil parish in west Bradford, in West Yorkshire, England. Wilsden is 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Bradford and is close to the Aire Valley and the nearby villages of Denholme, Cullingworth, Harden, Cottingley and Allerton. Wilsden re-acquired civil parish status in 2004. The 2001 census revealed a population of 3,697, increasing to 4,807 at the 2011 Census.

Harden is a civil parish and village within the City of Bradford Metropolitan District, West Yorkshire, England, 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Bingley. It had a population of 1,615 in the 2001 census, but by 2011 this had risen to 1,900.
