Lamorran

Ruan Lanihorne is a civil parish and village in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated approximately four miles (6.5 km) east-southeast of Truro between the River Fal and its tributary the Ruan River.

The River Fal (Standard Written Form: Dowr Fala) flows through Cornwall, rising at Pentevale on Goss Moor (between St. Columb and Roche) and reaching the English Channel at Falmouth. On or near the banks of the Fal are the castles of Pendennis and St Mawes as well as Trelissick Garden. The River Fal separates the Roseland peninsula from the rest of Cornwall. Like most of its kind on the south coast of Cornwall and Devon, the Fal estuary is a classic ria, or drowned river valley. The Fal estuary from Tregony to the Truro River was originally called Hafaraell (Cornish: Havarel, meaning fallow place).

Philleigh (Cornish: Eglosros) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, in the United Kingdom; one of the four in the Roseland Peninsula. Philleigh lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with similar status and protection as a National Park. The village is the home of Roseland Rugby Club which was formed in 1971.

William Gregor, the discoverer of titanium, was born on the Trewarthenick Estate as was his brother Francis Gregor, MP for the County of Cornwall from 1790 to 1806.

Merther (Cornish: Eglos Merther, meaning marter's church) is a small hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of St Michael Penkevil, in the Cornwall district, in the ceremonial county of Cornwall, England. It lies 2 miles (3 km) east of Truro, on the eastern side of the Tresillian River. In 1931 the parish had a population of 150. It was formerly the churchtown of the small parish of Merther, and also the site of a manor house and medieval chapel dedicated to St Cohan (also spelt Coan). The former parish church is now in ruins. St Coan was a martyr; there were formerly at Merther a chapel and holy well dedicated to him. A new church was built at Tresillian Bridge in 1904 (the font, bells, statue of St Anthony and pulpit from Merther were moved to the new church). The church was abandoned in the mid-20th century.

The Trewarthenick Estate is a Grade II listed manor house and estate located in the hamlet of Trewarthenick near Tregony in Cornwall, England. The house was originally built in around 1686 and has seen considerable alterations over the years.

Treworlas is a hamlet west of Veryan, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, part of the civil parish of Philleigh.Henry Jenner suggested that Treworlas was named after Gorlois, the legendary duke of Cornwall, who he believed was a real fifth or sixth century figure, either a petty chief who was a vassal of the Royal House of Dumnonia, or – if the leaders of the Britons that had been displaced by the Saxons had become the kings of Dumnonia – Gorlois may have been of the line of the original chiefs of the Dumnonii that had been supplanted by the Britons.
