Tresillian

Merther (Cornish: Eglos Merther, meaning marter's church) is a small hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of St Michael Penkevil, in the Cornwall district, in the ceremonial county of Cornwall, England. It lies 2 miles (3 km) east of Truro, on the eastern side of the Tresillian River. In 1931 the parish had a population of 150. It was formerly the churchtown of the small parish of Merther, and also the site of a manor house and medieval chapel dedicated to St Cohan (also spelt Coan). The former parish church is now in ruins. St Coan was a martyr; there were formerly at Merther a chapel and holy well dedicated to him. A new church was built at Tresillian Bridge in 1904 (the font, bells, statue of St Anthony and pulpit from Merther were moved to the new church). The church was abandoned in the mid-20th century.

St Clement (Cornish: Klemens) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated southeast of Truro in the valley of the Tresillian River. Other notable villages within the parish are the much larger Tresillian 1.4 miles (2.3 km) to the north east of St Clement village itself and another village at Malpas to the south of the parish. The urban part of the parish of St Clement was incorporated into Truro in 1895. The remainder of the parish had a population of 1,064 at the 2011 census.From 2009 to 2021, St Clement was covered by the Ladock, St Clement and St Erme division. From the 2021 local elections, it will be within the Truro Tregolls division. St Clement is attractive for tourists: aside from the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside they come to see the village church and its associated conservation projects that are maintained by members of the local community. Unlike some other villages in the district, the village of St Clement has changed very little in recent times.The parish of St Clement lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The Tresillian River includes many scenic paths leading to a walkway owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

Penair School is a secondary academy school in Truro, Cornwall, England, for children aged 11 to 16. It is named after Penair House, a mansion built in the late 18th century by Rear-Admiral Robert Carthew Reynolds. It is currently graded as ‘good’ by government inspectors Ofsted, with the last inspection at the time of writing having taken place on 17 May 2017. The school is situated at the top of St Clement's Hill, and has several playing fields as well as other facilities such as a fitness suite and an AstroTurf pitch. James Davidson became Penair's Headteacher in September 2015 with Robert Sharpe and Meloney Eastburn-Cutts both being Deputy Heads.

Lamorran lies 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) southeast of Truro, within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). In 1931 the parish had a population of 49.Lamorran church was built in the mid-13th century and has never been enlarged. It was dedicated (to St Morenna) in 1261 and restored unsympathetically in 1845 (by William White) and 1853 (for Lord Falmouth; Evelyn Boscawen, 6th Viscount Falmouth (1819–1889)). The tower is separate from the church and the font of Catacleuse stone may be Norman (or 15th century work in the Norman style).A large monument of 1658 commemorates John Verman and his wife. The churchyard cross is a fine example of a Gothic stone cross. This cross is made of Pentewan stone; the crosshead is now incomplete as the upper limb is missing.Lamorran was an ancient parish, and became a civil parish in 1866. The civil parish was abolished on 1 April 1934 and absorbed into the civil parish of St Michael Penkevil. For ecclesiastical purposes the parish is now united with Merther to form the parish of Lamorran and Merther.

The parish population at the 2011 census was 2,299, whereas the ward population taken at the same census was 3,953.
