Oxburgh Hall is a moated country house in Oxborough, Norfolk, England. The hall was built for Sir Edmund Bedingfeld who obtained a licence to crenellate in 1482. The Bedingfelds gained the manor of Oxborough through marriage in the early 15th century, and the family has lived at the hall since its construction, although ownership passed to the National Trust in 1952. The house underwent extensive refurbishment in the mid 19th century under John Chessell Buckler and Augustus Pugin.

The Oxborough dirk, a Bronze Age ceremonial oversize dagger was discovered nearby in 1988. It was acquired for the nation and is now on display in the British Museum.

Boughton Fen is a 15.7-hectare (39-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Downham Market in Norfolk, England. it is common land registered to Boughton Parish Council. This valley in a tributary of the River Wissey is covered by tall fen over most of the site, together with areas of scrub which provide a habitat for breeding birds. There are many uncommon species of moths, including the rare Perizoma sagittaria. There is access to the site from Oxborough Road.

Northwold ("North forest") is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 19.72 km2 (7.61 sq mi) and had a population of 1,070 in 448 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 1,085 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. The civil parish also includes the hamlets of Whittington and Little London. The village is 7.5 mi (12.1 km) north of Brandon which is also the closest railway station on the Thetford to Ely line, and 95 mi (153 km) from London. It lies just to the north of the A134 between Thetford and King's Lynn and on the river Wissey, in the Western division of the county, Grimshoe Hundred, Thetford union and county court district, Cranwich rural deanery, Norfolk archdeaconry and Norwich Diocese. Northwold is mentioned in the Domesday Book and traces of human and mole settlements from the Neolithic period have been recorded. Hugh of Northwold was Abbot of Bury St Edmunds from 1215 to 1229 and afterwards Bishop of Ely. Between 1279 and 1301 John of Northwold was Abbot of Bury St Edmunds. Northwold is surrounded by farmland and some of the inhabitants work on farms in the district. This area of England cultivates sugar beet and there are several factories producing sugar in the region. Residents not working locally commute to Norwich or the nearby towns such as King's Lynn, Swaffham, Downham Market.The Norman Church of England Primary School (formerly The Norman School) is the only school in the village. It is named after local benefactor Caroline Amelia Norman. Northwold has not got a general store or post office. In earlier times the village boasted several public houses but now (2021) has one remaining pub "The Crown Inn". but at the current time (2023) the pub is closed due to the owners ill health.The village is served by the number 88 bus six times a day (Mon-Fri), running between Thetford and Kings Lynn. There is a reduced service of 3 buses a day on Saturdays.

Foulden Common is a 139-hectare (340-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Downham Market in Norfolk. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade 2, and part of the Norfolk Valley Fens Special Area of Conservation.This common has a mosaic of habitats, such as acidic and calcareous grassland, birch woodland, rich fen and open water. Flora in the fen grassland include purple moor-grass, black bog rush, purple small-reed and blunt-flowered rush.There is limited public access to the common.

Stoke Ferry is a closed railway station in Norfolk. It was the terminus of a 7+1⁄4-mile (11.7 km) branch line from Denver which opened on 1 August 1882 and finally closed to all traffic in 1965.

For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. All Saints' Church, a Grade II listed building, was rebuilt by William Donthorn. It is no longer used for church services and was owned by Kit Hesketh-Harvey until his death in 2023. The village has many small businesses such as two takeaway shops, a hairdresser, wood yard, DIY hardware shop & metalworks workshop, funeral directors, and a corner shop. There is also a thriving community-owned pub, The Blue Bell Pub-Cafe which was bought by the local community on 30 June 2021 and, after extensive refurbishment reopened on 4 June 2022. Stoke Ferry Hall is a Grade II* listed building.

RAF Barton Bendish was an airfield for the Royal Air Force located on the far side of the Downham Market to Swaffham road from its parent station, RAF Marham. It was built because at the outbreak of the Second World War it was considered important for bomber stations to have a satellite airfield. The only aircraft known to have operated out of Barton Bendish were Vickers Wellington bombers from Marham. It was abandoned in 1942, as it was considered too close to the parent station to be developed further. No. 26 Squadron RAF. No. 268 Squadron RAF.
