Lowell Airport was an airfield operational in the mid-20th century in Lowell, Massachusetts. The airport hosted the Moth Aircraft Corp. of Lowell, where 179 de Havilland Moth planes were manufactured under license between 1929 and 1931.

Salter School is a for-profit vocational school in Malden. It is operated as a component of the Premier Education Group. Salter School grew from the Salter Secretarial School established in Massachusetts in 1937. As its academic and business reputation grew, the Salter School moved locations and removed "secretarial" from the title in 1981. Salter School also introduced expanded career programs. In 1984 and 1985, the Salter School established two accredited career training programs. In 1995, the Salter School added its Medical Assistant program. In 2000, Medical Billing and Coding (Health Claims Specialist). It later added Massage Therapy, Paralegal and additional programs. Salter School also added new campuses and a sister college called Salter College. In the late 2010s, all of the campuses except the Malden campus closed following multiple million-dollar settlements related to allegations that the Premier Education Group misled students. A 2019 settlement with the Massachusetts Attorney General prohibits the school from enrolling students in Massachusetts and will close all of the remaining campuses by the end of 2019.

The United States Cartridge Company explosion occurred on July 29 1903, in present-day Lowell, Massachusetts. The explosion of two buildings used to store dynamite and gunpowder killed 22 people and destroyed 13 homes.

Lowell Cemetery is a cemetery located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Founded in 1841 and located on the banks of the Concord River, the cemetery is one of the oldest garden cemeteries in the nation, inspired by Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Many of Lowell's wealthy industrialists are buried here, under ornate Victorian tombstones. A 73-acre (30 ha) portion of the 84 acres (34 ha) cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Shedd Park is a 50-acre (20 ha) public park in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is located off Rogers Street (Route 38) and flanked by Boylston Street and Knapp Avenue in the Belvidere section of the city. It includes multiple baseball fields, tennis/basketball courts, a pavilion, and a water park. In combination with Fort Hill and the Lowell Cemetery, Shedd Park is one of the largest urban green spaces in the Greater Lowell area.The park was made possible in part through the contribution of $100,000 from the estate of Freeman B. Shedd. His wife, Amy, died in 1924 and his daughter had died in 1921 without having any children. This money allowed the city to develop the park which he had donated in 1910. The Shedd Park Field House was built in 1927 and on October 29, 2016 it was dedicated and renamed the John D. Lord Pavilion.

North Billerica station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Billerica, Massachusetts. It serves the Lowell Line, and is located in the North Billerica village. The depot building, built in 1867, was renovated, expanded, and returned to station use in 1998. The station has mini-high platforms for accessibility.

Camp Chase, also known as Camp Wilson, was a training camp for Massachusetts militia during the American Civil War located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Several thousand recruits were trained at Camp Chase before being sent south to the battle front.In 1860, the Middlesex North Agricultural Society purchased land south of the center of Lowell from the Boston & Lowell Railroad Company for a fairground. Before the war began, the fairground was frequently used for musters and drills of Massachusetts militia units under the command of Major General Benjamin Butler, a prominent attorney of Lowell and Massachusetts militia officer. When the war began, Butler played a large role in creating a more permanent camp on this location.At least eleven units were trained at Camp Chase during its two years of operation from 1861 to 1863. These included the 26th, 30th, and 31st Massachusetts regiments of infantry, the 2nd Massachusetts Battalion of Cavalry, the 3rd Massachusetts Cavalry Regiment, and the 4th, 6th, 7th and 15th Massachusetts Batteries of Light Artillery. Units from other states were also trained at Camp Chase including the 11th Maine Infantry, the 12th Maine Infantry, and the 9th Connecticut Infantry Regiment.After the war, the military camp was discontinued and the site returned to use as an agricultural fair ground. The fair ground ceased operation in 1906.

The Wamesit Canal-Whipple Mill Industrial Complex is a historic mill and canal at 576 Lawrence Street in Lowell, Massachusetts. This industrial area of Lowell, located on the Concord River, underwent a major expansion from a more modest millworks in the mid-19th century by Oliver Whipple, a manufacturer of gunpowder.

The United States Cartridge Company was an early manufacturer of cartridge ammunition for small arms. The company was founded in 1869 by American Civil War general Benjamin Butler. Company startup was during the most rapid evolution of cartridge design to date. Lowell, Massachusetts emerged as one of the most successful cartridge producers in the United States while Butler served as a congressman from Massachusetts from 1867 to 1879 and as governor from 1883 to 1884. After supplying 65 percent of American small arms ammunition production for World War I, the company was acquired by the owner of Winchester Repeating Arms; and the Lowell factory closed as manufacturing shifted to New Haven, Connecticut.

The Billerica Mills Historic District is a historic district between the Concord River, Treble Cove Terrace, Kohlrausch Avenue, Indian Road, Holt Ruggles, and Rogers Streets in the village of North Billerica, Massachusetts (part of the town of Billerica). The C.P. Talbot & Company mill building still stands in the center of the district. The buildings were planned and sited over decades, spanning from the mid-19th century until the 1920s. The Talbot brothers were able to secure land bordering the Concord Falls from the defunct Middlesex Canal Company (MCC) in 1851. The dam, water power and 20 acres (8.1 ha) of MCC land were secured for $10,000. In 1857, CP Talbot secured additional property from neighbor Faulkner and an agreement with Faulkner over water power rights. Also in 1857 they partnered with the Lowell-based Belvidere Company for 5 years, supplying water power while Belvidere gave the equipment and know-how. The exact date of the large brick building and clock tower is not known, but likely between 1865 and 1870. It was at this time that the Talbot brothers built the first tenement company housing for workers as well. The company operated and existed for 100 years until 1956. The Talbot brothers were the children of Charles and Phoebe (White) Talbot (married in 1802) whose children were Charles P. (b. 1807) and Thomas (b. 1818) among six others. From Cambridge, New York, they moved to Vermont and then Northampton, Massachusetts, where the brothers learned the trades of the textile mills. The district, which encompasses the mill complex and worker housing along Wilson Street and Talbot Avenue built by the Talbots, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Rogers Fort Hill Park Historic District of Lowell, Massachusetts, encompasses the largest single residential development made in the city in the 19th century. The district includes the area historically associated with the Rogers Farm, purchased in 1805 by Zadock Rogers. His daughters sold off most of the property in two parcels in the 1880s: land to the south of their homestead was sold to the city, and most of it was developed into Fort Hill Park, while that north of the homestead was sold to developers. The district is roughly bounded by High Street, Mansur Street, Concord Road, and Lowell Cemetery. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
