Gilowice, Pszczyna County

Góra [ˈɡura] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Miedźna, within Pszczyna County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) east of Pszczyna and 32 km (20 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. The name of the village is of Polish origin and means "hill".

The history of the town dates back to the 15th century, and it was probably founded by Flemish settlers. Brzeszcze lies along regional roads nr. 933 and nr. 949, and its name comes from the brzost (Ulmus glabra) trees, which once were abundant in the Sola river valley. In the past the town was spelled Brzescie, Breszcze, Brescze, Brzeszce, and Brzesczye.

It flows through Pszczyna. On the river, there is Łąka retention reservoir. Its tributaries include Dokawa and Korzeniec.
