Myrtle Avenue station (BMT Lexington Avenue Line)

Grand Avenue was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. The station was opened on April 27, 1889 at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue in Brooklyn next to the Myrtle Avenue station of the BMT Lexington Avenue Line, which opened four years earlier. It had two tracks and two side platforms, and had connections not only to that station, but also to Myrtle Avenue Line streetcars. The next southbound stop was Washington Avenue. The next northbound stop was Franklin Avenue. The connection to the Lexington Avenue el station lasted until that station closed on October 13, 1950. Grand Avenue closed on January 21, 1953, while the rest of the line southwest of Broadway was operational until October 4, 1969.

The Walt Whitman Houses are a housing project in Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York completed on February 24, 1944. The project consists of fifteen buildings, 6 and 13-stories tall with 1,659 apartment units. It covers a 18.44-acre expanse, and is bordered by St. Edward's Street, and Park, Carlton and Myrtle Avenues. It is owned and managed by New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).The development was named after the 19th century poet Walt Whitman, who lived and worked in Brooklyn.

The Pratt Institute School of Architecture is located in New York City with courses being taught at Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses. In 2012 the journal 'DesignIntelligence' ranked it in the ten best architecture schools in the United States. Alumni include William Van Alen, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, Annabelle Selldorf, Richard Foster, George Ranalli, Carlos Zapata, and Pritzker Prize winner Peter Zumthor. The School was created in 1928 and by 1954 was recognized as being full degree-granting Undergraduate and Graduate program. Undergraduate architecture is the largest program in both the School of Architecture and Pratt Institute at large with over 550 students. Within the Brooklyn campus, the school of architecture is located a block from the main campus in Higgins Hall (designed by Steven Holl).

Pratt Institute is a private university with its main campus in Brooklyn, New York. It has a satellite campus in Manhattan and an extension campus in Utica, New York at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. The school originated in 1887 with programs primarily in engineering, architecture, and fine arts. Comprising six schools, the institute is primarily known for its programs in architecture, interior design, and industrial design.

Washington Avenue was a station on the demolished BMT Myrtle Avenue Line and BMT Lexington Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. It was opened on December 4, 1888 and had two tracks and one island platform. The next stop to the north was Grand Avenue, and until 1950, the next stop to the north for trains destined for points on the BMT Lexington Avenue Line was Myrtle Avenue. The next stop to the south was Vanderbilt Avenue for both lines. It closed on October 4, 1969, after a fire on the structure.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church is an historic Episcopal church at 230 Classon Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, New York City. It was built in 1858 of Belleville brownstone in the Gothic Revival style. The building features a square tower with polygonal extension and a broach spire. The Johnson Memorial Parish House was built in 1892. Also on the property is the rectory; a 2+1⁄2-story brick house with a mansard roof and large oriel window. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.Parishioners are largely Anglicans of West Indian descent. Community events include concerts, flea markets, brunches, classes, and lectures. In July 2011, the Sacristy of the Church was renovated.

DeKalb Avenue was a station on the demolished BMT Lexington Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. It was opened on May 13, 1885 and had 2 tracks and 2 side platforms. It was located at the intersection of Grand Avenue and DeKalb Avenue, and had connections to the streetcar line with the same name. It closed on October 13, 1950. The next southbound stop was Myrtle Avenue. The next northbound stop was Greene Avenue.

Wallabout Industrial Historic District is a national historic district located in the Wallabout neighborhood of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. The district encompasses 43 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites in an industrial section of Brooklyn. The district developed in the late-19th and early-20th century and features noteworthy examples of Romanesque Revival style architecture. The buildings are largely constructed of brick, bluestone, and brownstone with limestone, terra cotta, and cast iron elements. The district includes the Rockwood & Company chocolate factory complex previously listed as part of the Rockwood Chocolate Factory Historic District. A number of the buildings have been adapted for residential and commercial uses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Caroline Ladd Pratt House is a mansion at 229 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, USA. It was formerly known as the Frederic B. Pratt House, as it was built for him as the family home with his wife Caroline Ladd Pratt. Completed in 1898, it was designed by architects Babb, Cook and Willard in a neo-Georgian style. Caroline Ladd Pratt survived her husband. She bequeathed the mansion to the Pratt Institute, which the family had long supported. Today it us used as the residence of the college president. In 2017, Matiz Architecture and Design completed a restoration project that addressed many facade and window elements, bringing the historic residence back to its more elegant appearance. The exterior trellis was also restored as part of the architectural restoration.

The University provides education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, offering degrees in more than 54 majors, special course offerings and certificates, affiliated and pre-professional programs.

Brooklyn Naval Hospital was a hospital in Brooklyn, New York City, within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It was one of the oldest naval hospitals in the United States, having operated from 1838 to 1948. Two of the structures in the former hospital's site are designated New York City Landmarks. The entire hospital complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places along with the rest of the Navy Yard.

Rockwood Chocolate Factory Historic District is a historic industrial complex and national historic district in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City. The complex consists of 16 contributing buildings built between 1891 and 1928 and owned by Rockwood & Company until it went out of business in 1957. The largest and oldest building (Building 1 and 2) dates to 1891 and is located at the corner of Washington and Park avenues. It is a five-story, Romanesque Revival style building. Much of the complex has been converted to loft apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It has been incorporated into the Wallabout Industrial Historic District.
