The United Talmudical Seminary or Yeshiva Torah ViYirah DeRabbeinu Yoel MeSatmar is a private Rabbinical college, or yeshiva, for Satmar students, with locations in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. In the 2004-2005 academic year, it had 1,125 students in all degree fields; in 2006–2007, 869 of its students were undergraduates. Due to its nature as a Rabbinical college, all students are male. The seminary emphasizes the study of the Talmud and Halakha in order to prepare students for their religious vocations. Bachelor's, first professional, and Master's degrees are offered. It is accredited by the Association of Advanced Rabbinical and Talmudic Schools.

Wallabout Market was a large market located at Wallabout Bay in Brooklyn, New York City.

Wallabout Industrial Historic District is a national historic district located in the Wallabout neighborhood of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. The district encompasses 43 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites in an industrial section of Brooklyn. The district developed in the late-19th and early-20th century and features noteworthy examples of Romanesque Revival style architecture. The buildings are largely constructed of brick, bluestone, and brownstone with limestone, terra cotta, and cast iron elements. The district includes the Rockwood & Company chocolate factory complex previously listed as part of the Rockwood Chocolate Factory Historic District. A number of the buildings have been adapted for residential and commercial uses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Steiner Studios is a film studio at Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York City. It is the largest film and television production studio complex in the United States outside Hollywood. Steiner Studios, spread across 20 acres (8.1 ha), contains 17 soundstages as well as additional support space. Steiner Studios was founded in 2003, and the first soundstages at the site opened in November 2004. Additional soundstages were added in 2012. A proposed expansion of Steiner Studios would include the historic Brooklyn Naval Hospital, and is projected to be completed in the mid-2020s.

Congregation Yetev Lev D'Satmar is a large Hasidic synagogue located at Kent Avenue and Hooper Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Its building was constructed in 2006 by followers of Aaron Teitelbaum, as a result of a feud with followers of Zalman Teitelbaum (both sons of the deceased Satmar rebbe Moshe Teitelbaum). It has been dubbed the "miracle synagogue" because it was constructed in just 14 business days.

On May 12, 1919, a fire broke out in the shipping department of the Rockwood & Company chocolate factory complex on Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn. At around 1 am, materials and products stored on the second floor of the department are suspected to have caught fire by spontaneous combustion. The New York Fire Department were unable to save the building but prevented the spread of the fire to the rest of the plant. Firefighting water washed a mixture of molten chocolate and butter out onto neighbouring streets where it blocked storm drains and caused a flood sufficient to "float a rowboat for two blocks". Local children crowded to the site to taste the mixture. The fire was extinguished by around 11 am and caused damage in excess of $75,000 (equivalent to $1,172,217 in 2021).

Rockwood Chocolate Factory Historic District is a historic industrial complex and national historic district in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City. The complex consists of 16 contributing buildings built between 1891 and 1928 and owned by Rockwood & Company until it went out of business in 1957. The largest and oldest building (Building 1 and 2) dates to 1891 and is located at the corner of Washington and Park avenues. It is a five-story, Romanesque Revival style building. Much of the complex has been converted to loft apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It has been incorporated into the Wallabout Industrial Historic District.

Myrtle Avenue was a station on the demolished BMT Lexington Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. It was opened after 1912 and had two tracks and two side platforms. It was located at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue, and had connections to Myrtle Avenue Line streetcars. A segment of the Lexington Avenue Line once ran north from here and turned west on Park Avenue to Hudson Avenue and York Street on its way to the Fulton Ferry until 1891. The Myrtle Avenue Elevated was built nearby in 1888, and Lexington Avenue Lines trains began to shift onto that line southwest of this station. It closed on October 13, 1950, although the other BMT station at that location, Grand Avenue was in operation until January 21, 1953, while the rest of the line southwest of Broadway was operational until November 3, 1969. The next southbound stop was Washington Avenue on the Myrtle Avenue El, but was originally another Washington Avenue station on the Park Avenue El. The next northbound stop was DeKalb Avenue.

Grand Avenue was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. The station was opened on April 27, 1889 at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue in Brooklyn next to the Myrtle Avenue station of the BMT Lexington Avenue Line, which opened four years earlier. It had two tracks and two side platforms, and had connections not only to that station, but also to Myrtle Avenue Line streetcars. The next southbound stop was Washington Avenue. The next northbound stop was Franklin Avenue. The connection to the Lexington Avenue el station lasted until that station closed on October 13, 1950. Grand Avenue closed on January 21, 1953, while the rest of the line southwest of Broadway was operational until October 4, 1969.

Benjamin Banneker Academy for Community Development (usually called Banneker) is a public high school located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, New York City. The school was originally a Drake's Cakes factory. Still today, different floors of the school are in Drake's colors, blue and yellow. It has a small, but family type atmosphere for a high school. It is usually called a junior college because the faculty and students are so focused on college. Banneker, which serves grades 9 through 12+, is operated by the New York City Department of Education. Many of the graduates attend SUNY schools, HBCUs (historically black colleges and universities) and CUNY schools. There are also a few that attend Ivy League schools and a few are recruited for Posse schools. The school's graduation rate has been at least 90% since 2002.

The Brooklyn Navy Yard (originally known as the New York Navy Yard) is a shipyard and industrial complex located in northwest Brooklyn in New York City, New York. The Navy Yard is located on the East River in Wallabout Bay, a semicircular bend of the river across from Corlears Hook in Manhattan. It is bounded by Navy Street to the west, Flushing Avenue to the south, Kent Avenue to the east, and the East River on the north. The site, which covers 225.15 acres (91.11 ha), is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Brooklyn Navy Yard was established in 1801. From the early 1810s through the 1960s, it was an active shipyard for the United States Navy, and was also known as the United States Naval Shipyard, Brooklyn and New York Naval Shipyard at various points in its history. The Brooklyn Navy Yard produced wooden ships for the U.S. Navy through the 1870s, and steel ships after the American Civil War in the 1860s. The Brooklyn Navy Yard has been expanded several times, and at its peak, it covered over 356 acres (1.44 km2). The efforts of its 75,000 workers during World War II earned the yard the nickname "The Can-Do Shipyard". The Navy Yard was deactivated as a military installation in 1966, but continued to be used by private industries. The facility now houses an industrial and commercial complex run by the New York City government, both related to shipping repairs and maintenance and as office and manufacturing space for non-maritime industries. The Brooklyn Navy Yard includes dozens of structures, some of which date to the 19th century. The Brooklyn Naval Hospital, a medical complex on the east side of the Brooklyn Navy Yard site, served as the yard's hospital from 1838 until 1948. Dry Dock 1, one of six dry docks at the yard, was completed in 1851 and is listed as a New York City designated landmark. Former structures include Admiral's Row, a grouping of officers' residences at the west end of the yard, which was torn down in 2016 to accommodate new construction. Several new buildings were built in the late 20th and early 21st centuries as part of the city-run commercial and industrial complex. A commandant's residence, also a National Historic Landmark, is located away from the main navy yard's site. The FDNY's Marine Operations Division and their fireboats are located at Building 292.

The Walt Whitman Houses are a housing project in Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York completed on February 24, 1944. The project consists of fifteen buildings, 6 and 13-stories tall with 1,659 apartment units. It covers a 18.44-acre expanse, and is bordered by St. Edward's Street, and Park, Carlton and Myrtle Avenues. It is owned and managed by New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).The development was named after the 19th century poet Walt Whitman, who lived and worked in Brooklyn.
