Fountain Valley School of Colorado

Security-Widefield is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the unincorporated communities of Security and Widefield located in and governed by El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Security-Widefield CDP was 32,882 at the United States Census 2010. El Paso County governs the unincorporated communities. Both the Colorado Springs post office (Zip Codes 80911, 80913, and 80925) and the Fountain post office (Zip Code 80817) serve the area.

United Airlines Flight 585 was a scheduled passenger flight on March 3, 1991, from Denver to Colorado Springs, Colorado, carrying 20 passengers and 5 crew members on board. The plane experienced a rudder hardover while on final approach to runway 35 at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, causing the plane to roll over and enter an uncontrolled dive. All 25 people on board were killed. The NTSB was initially unable to resolve the cause of the crash, but after similar accidents and incidents involving Boeing 737 aircraft, the crash was determined to be caused by a defect in the design of the 737's rudder power control unit.: ix 

Mesa Ridge High School is a school in Widefield School District 3, a school district in El Paso County, Colorado. The school is zoned to receive students from Fountain, and the Colorado Springs suburbs of Security and Widefield. Mesa Ridge opened in 1997. The first graduating class commenced in 2000. Mesa Ridge is the newest of three high schools in the district, after Widefield High School and Discovery High School.

KXCL (101.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Rock Creek Park, Colorado, United States. The station is currently owned by Calvary Church with Ed Taylor. The station received approval from the Federal Communications Commission on November 1, 2013, to change its city of license from Westcliffe, Colorado to Rock Creek Park (southwest of Colorado Springs) and increase its power from 180 watts to 2,100 watts to serve the Colorado Springs area.Calvary Chapel Aurora agreed to purchase KXCL from United States CP, LLC for $400,000. The purchase was consummated on October 31, 2013. Calvary plans to use KXCL to bring its "Grace FM" programming from KXGR into the Colorado Springs market.

KFCS (1580 AM) is a radio station licensed to Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States.

Widefield High School is a high school in Security-Widefield, Colorado, United States. It opened its doors in 1958 and is the older of the two high schools in Widefield School District 3. Widefield's mascot is the Gladiator and its colors are navy blue, Columbia blue, silver and white.

Fountain Creek Regional Park and Nature Center is a park and nature center in Fountain, El Paso County, Colorado near Colorado Springs.

S.A. Wilson Elementary School in Security-Widefield, an unincorporated area south of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was built in 1959 and expanded in 1961. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.It was one of six elementary schools in Widefield School District built during 1954 to 1961, during which the district grew from 125 students to more than 3,500 students. The building later became the S.A. Wilson Center, hosting several school district resources.

The Widefield School District 3 is a public school district serving parts of western El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It primarily serves Security-Widefield, but it also serves southeastern Colorado Springs, which is where the district office is located.

On May 9, 2021, a mass shooting occurred at a birthday party in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Seven people were killed, including the gunman who committed suicide.
