Stedum railway station

Stedum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsteːdʏm]; Gronings: Steem [ˈsteɪm]) is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is located in the municipality of Eemsdelta, about 15 km (9 mi) northeast of the city of Groningen. Stedum was a separate municipality until 1990, when it merged with Loppersum.The German municipality of Hohenhameln, which includes the German village of Stedum, was twinned with the Dutch municipality of Loppersum.

The Ommelanden (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɔməˌlɑndən]; Surrounding Lands) are the parts of Groningen province that surround Groningen city. Usually mentioned as synonym for the province in the expression Stad en Ommeland ("city and surrounding lands"). The area was Frisian-speaking, but under the influence of the Saxon city of Groningen most of the area turned to speaking Low Saxon. A reminder of the Frisian past is the Ommelanden flag which looks a lot like the Frisian provincial flag but has more and narrower stripes and more red pompeblêden (stylised heart-shaped leaves of yellow water-lily). Huizinge (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦœyzɪŋə]; Gronings: Hoezen [ˈɦuːzn̩]) is a village with a population of 100 in the municipality of Eemsdelta in the province of Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. On 16 August 2012, the heaviest induced earthquake in the Netherlands with a magnitude of 3.6 occurred with its epicentre in Huizinge.

Startenhuizen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈstɑrtə(n)ˌɦœyzə(n)]) is a hamlet at the border of the municipals Het Hogeland and Eemsdelta in the northeastern Netherlands. It is divided in two parts, the biggest in Eemsdelta, and a few farms in Het Hogeland. Startenhuizen is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Startenhuizen. It had place name signs, however some have been removed.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1391 as "to Stertingahusum". The etymology is unclear. In 1590, the church was demolished, and never replaced. Startenhuizen was home to 112 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 17 houses.

Ten Boer (Dutch pronunciation: [tɛn ˈbuːr] (listen)) is a village and a former municipality in the northeastern Netherlands, in the province of Groningen. The municipality had a population of in 2019; the village of Ten Boer has approximately 4,600 inhabitants. In 2019, it was merged into municipality of Groningen.

It is located in the municipality of Eemsdelta. Middelstum was a separate municipality until 1990, when it was merged with Loppersum.

Ten Post is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is part of the municipality of Groningen. The village is located along the Damsterdiep and about 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) from Groningen.

Winneweer (pronounced [ˈʋɪnəʋeːr]) is a small village in the municipalities of Eemsdelta and Groningen in the Dutch province of Groningen. The village was first mentioned in 1668 as "Winne-weer, een Logijs-plaets", and refers to an inn which was located near Garrelsweer, and is nowadays a pub. The etymology is unclear.Before 1850, there was hardly any habitation in Winneweer. After 1850, industry started to settle in Winneweer. A saw mill turned into a wood factory, a dairy factory and a brickworks followed. Winneweer consists of about 50 houses.

Loppersum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlɔpərsʏm] ; Gronings: Loppersom [ˈlɔpɐsɔm]) is a village and former municipality in the province of Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands.
