Charles B. Aycock High School

The Aycock Birthplace, also known as the Charles B. Aycock Birthplace, is a historic home in Wayne County, North Carolina, and a historic site belonging to the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources' Historic Sites division. The property was the location of the birth of Governor Charles Brantley Aycock in 1859, and exhibits at the historic site serve to tell the story of the Governor's political career and the education reforms he enacted while in office. It was built about 1840, and is a one-story weatherboard dwelling on a brick pier foundation. It has a gable roof and exterior end chimneys. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Pikeville is a town in Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 678 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is notable for being the home of Collier Motors, an automobile sales and service business established in 1955 that has remained an American Motors (AMC) dealership.

Wayne Executive Jetport (ICAO: KGWW, FAA LID: GWW) is a public use airport located in Pikeville, NC, three miles north of Goldsboro, in Wayne County, North Carolina. The airport is owned by Wayne County. It was formerly Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, when it was owned by both City of Goldsboro and Wayne County. The Jetport is governed by the Wayne Executive Jetport (WEJP) Commission, which assists the county with management and development at the Jetport. The WEJP Commission consists of seven members, each serving a two-year term as appointed by the Wayne County Commissioners, along with one member from the Board of County Commissioners. Each January the WEJP Board elects the Chair and Vice Chair leadership positions for the year. Based on 2020 economic data, the Wayne Executive Jetport provides $1,800,000 in tax revenue to the local area, 345 jobs are supported, $58,200,000 local economic impact, and over 16,200 annual operations are conducted. There is a population of over 215,000 living within 30 minutes of the Jetport. Since July 2018 over $13,000,000 of investment has been made at the Jetport expanding the facility and operations. In 2020 The Executive Director of the WEJP was presented with the General Aviation Manager of the Year award for the Southern region of the FAA. Many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA. However, this airport is assigned GWW by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA. The GWW code is not currently used by the IATA, but it was previously assigned to the former RAF Gatow in Berlin, Germany.

The Dred and Ellen Yelverton House is a historic home located near Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect George Franklin Barber, is one of the most intact Barber houses in North Carolina. It was built about 1913, and is a two-story, weatherboarded frame dwelling with elements of Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style architecture. It has a steep deck-on-hip slate roof, one-story rear ell, and one- and two-story wraparound verandah. Also on the property is a contributing Carbide House (c. 1913). The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Over 14,000 curriculum and extension students are enrolled at the college per year. The college is part of the North Carolina Community College System.

Its name changed from Wayne Memorial Hospital when it entered into a management agreement with UNC Health in 2015 and in 2022, the hospital changed its name from Wayne UNC Health Care to UNC Health Wayne. William "Bill" Paugh, FACHE, Robert A. “Bob” Enders Jr., FACHE, served as interim President & CEO in 2016, Janie Jaberg, RN, FACHE, served as President & CEO from 2016 to 2020, and Jessie L. Tucker III, Ph.D., FACHE, became the corporation and hospital President & CEO in 2020. In September 2021, Moody's revised the hospital's outlook from negative to stable. The hospital was recognized as a best maternity care hospital in 2022 and in 2023, UNC Health Wayne earned its highest patient safety and quality ratings in history with a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of "A" and a CMS Star quality rating of 4 out of 5. The hospital also earned first ever certifications and accreditations in stroke, total hip and knee replacement, chest pain as well as platinum chest pain/MI care awards and high performance ratings for heart failure, kidney failure, stroke and COPD in 2022 and 2023. UNC Health Wayne became a Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program site in 2023 and was recognized as a top 12% and largest hospital in Eastern North Carolina with the highest consistent quality and patient safety ratings (4-stars and 6 consecutive A grades).

Borden Manufacturing Company, also known as Goldsboro Cotton Mills and Wayne Cotton Mills, is a historic factory complex located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. The complex includes the Goldsboro Cotton Mills (1892), Goldsboro Smokestack (1905), Goldsboro Boiler Room (c. 1940), Borden-Goldsboro Pedestrian Bridge (c. 1940), Borden Manufacturing Company (1900), Borden Water Tank (c. 1930), Borden Auto Garage (c. 1915), Borden Reservoir (c. 1900), Borden Reservoir Pump House (c. 1920), Borden Railroad Siding Tracks (c. 1900), Borden Conditioning Room (c. 1915), and Borden Storage Building (c. 1920). The Goldsboro Cotton Mills is a two-story, 16 bays long, gable-front, brick building with Italianate style detailing. It features a central three-story square tower, three bays in width. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Goldsboro High School is a public high school located in Wayne County, Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States. The school's mascot is the Cougar, and the school colors are navy and gold.

Wayne School of Engineering is a high school in Goldsboro, North Carolina, USA. The school currently serves grades 6–13. Wayne School of Engineering is housed at Goldsboro High School and selects students through an application process which all rising freshmen and 6th graders in Wayne County are eligible for. The school opened August 8, 2007.

The O'Berry Neuro-Medical Center is a public hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States, owned by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Its original goal was to help the intellectually disabled achieve independence by teaching them self-help skills and productive vocations. It has recently expanded its focus to include those who are either elderly or medically fragile along with having an intellectual disability. The facility now serves a 23-county South Central Region and handles 144 residents. It is one of three Neuro-Medical Treatment Centers in North Carolina, the others being Longleaf (formerly Wilson) and Black Mountain.
