Eureka United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located on Church Street in Eureka, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was built in 1884, and is a one-story, three bays wide and four bays deep, vernacular Carpenter Gothic style church. It has steeply pitched gable front roof and bell tower with lancet windows. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The property was the location of the birth of Governor Charles Brantley Aycock in 1859, and exhibits at the historic site serve to tell the story of the Governor's political career and the education reforms he enacted while in office. It was built about 1840, and is a one-story weatherboard dwelling on a brick pier foundation. It has a gable roof and exterior end chimneys. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Even after his term as governor, he continued to work on the improvement of schools in the country. It is because of Governor Aycock's passion for public education for students that the school got its name.

Wayne Executive Jetport (ICAO: KGWW, FAA LID: GWW) is a public use airport located in Pikeville, NC, three miles north of Goldsboro, in Wayne County, North Carolina. The airport is owned by Wayne County. It was formerly Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, when it was owned by both City of Goldsboro and Wayne County. The Jetport is governed by the Wayne Executive Jetport (WEJP) Commission, which assists the county with management and development at the Jetport. The WEJP Commission consists of seven members, each serving a two-year term as appointed by the Wayne County Commissioners, along with one member from the Board of County Commissioners. Each January the WEJP Board elects the Chair and Vice Chair leadership positions for the year. Based on 2020 economic data, the Wayne Executive Jetport provides $1,800,000 in tax revenue to the local area, 345 jobs are supported, $58,200,000 local economic impact, and over 16,200 annual operations are conducted. There is a population of over 215,000 living within 30 minutes of the Jetport. Since July 2018 over $13,000,000 of investment has been made at the Jetport expanding the facility and operations. In 2020 The Executive Director of the WEJP was presented with the General Aviation Manager of the Year award for the Southern region of the FAA. Many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA. However, this airport is assigned GWW by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA. The GWW code is not currently used by the IATA, but it was previously assigned to the former RAF Gatow in Berlin, Germany.

The district developed after 1787 and includes notable examples of Federal, Georgian, and Greek Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Shadrack Dickinson House (1787), Dr. Brooks House (c. 1852), John Woodard House (c. 1800), Stephen Woodard House (c. 1817), and Dr. Stephen Woodard House (c. 1855).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

It was built about 1847, and is a two-story, three-bay, single pile, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a one-story, shed roofed rear wing. It features a double-gallery porch with sawn ornament and trim added about 1900. The house was remodeled about 1870–1880. Also on the property are the contributing tenant house, packhouse, stables, sheds, and tobacco barns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

It was built about 1859, and is a boxy two-story, three-bay, double pile, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a shallow hipped roof and wrap-around Colonial Revival style porch with Doric order columns added about 1900. Attached to the rear of the house is a gable roofed one-story kitchen connected by a breezeway. Also on the property are a number of contributing outbuildings including two packhouses, stable, and tobacco barns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
