Wayne Community College

UNC Health Wayne is a nonprofit hospital affiliate of UNC Health, a health care system in North Carolina and the largest private employer in Wayne County. Its name changed from Wayne Memorial Hospital when it entered into a management agreement with UNC Health in 2015 and in 2022, the hospital changed its name from Wayne UNC Health Care to UNC Health Wayne. With the retirement of J. William "Bill" Paugh, FACHE, Robert A. “Bob” Enders Jr., FACHE, served as interim President & CEO in 2016, Janie Jaberg, RN, FACHE, served as President & CEO from 2016 to 2020, and Jessie L. Tucker III, Ph.D., FACHE, became the corporation and hospital President & CEO in 2020. In September 2021, Moody's revised the hospital's outlook from negative to stable. The hospital was recognized as a best maternity care hospital in 2022 and in 2023, UNC Health Wayne earned its highest patient safety and quality ratings in history with a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of "A" and a CMS Star quality rating of 4 out of 5. The hospital also earned first ever certifications and accreditations in stroke, total hip and knee replacement, chest pain as well as platinum chest pain/MI care awards and high performance ratings for heart failure, kidney failure, stroke and COPD in 2022 and 2023. UNC Health Wayne became a Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program site in 2023 and was recognized as a top 12% and largest hospital in Eastern North Carolina with the highest consistent quality and patient safety ratings (4-stars and 6 consecutive A grades).

Berkeley Mall is a shopping center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. It is owned by Faison Enterprises which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Mall has over 40 stores including several outparcel buildings outside the mall complete with several dining options. The main anchors are Belk and JCPenney. The Mall is located at 625 N. Berkeley Blvd right off US 70.

Goldsboro, originally Goldsborough, is a city in and the county seat of Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 33,657 at the 2020 census. It is the principal city of and is included in the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The nearby town of Waynesboro was founded in 1787, and Goldsboro was incorporated in 1847. It is the county seat of Wayne County. The city is situated in North Carolina's Coastal Plain and is bordered on the south by the Neuse River and the west by the Little River, approximately 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Greenville, 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Raleigh, the state capital, and 75 miles (121 km) north of Wilmington in Southeastern North Carolina. Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is located in Goldsboro.

Wayne School of Engineering is a high school in Goldsboro, North Carolina, USA. The school currently serves grades 6–13. Wayne School of Engineering is housed at Goldsboro High School and selects students through an application process which all rising freshmen and 6th graders in Wayne County are eligible for. The school opened August 8, 2007.

Borden Manufacturing Company, also known as Goldsboro Cotton Mills and Wayne Cotton Mills, is a historic factory complex located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. The complex includes the Goldsboro Cotton Mills (1892), Goldsboro Smokestack (1905), Goldsboro Boiler Room (c. 1940), Borden-Goldsboro Pedestrian Bridge (c. 1940), Borden Manufacturing Company (1900), Borden Water Tank (c. 1930), Borden Auto Garage (c. 1915), Borden Reservoir (c. 1900), Borden Reservoir Pump House (c. 1920), Borden Railroad Siding Tracks (c. 1900), Borden Conditioning Room (c. 1915), and Borden Storage Building (c. 1920). The Goldsboro Cotton Mills is a two-story, 16 bays long, gable-front, brick building with Italianate style detailing. It features a central three-story square tower, three bays in width. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Odd Fellows Lodge is a historic Odd Fellows clubhouse located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was designed by E.G. Porter in Classical Revival and Romanesque styles. It was built in 1906, and is a three-story brick building. It served historically as a clubhouse and as a specialty store. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

First Presbyterian Church, also known as the Church of Christ, Scientist, is a historic Presbyterian church located at 111 W. Ash Street in Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was built in 1856, and is a one-story, stuccoed, temple form Greek Revival architecture style church. It features an in antis portico with Tuscan order columns and low pitched roof with a painted wooden cupola. In 1953, the building was sold to the Christian Science Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Congregation Oheb Sholom (transliterated from Hebrew as "Lovers of Peace") is a former Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue that was located in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in the United States. The former synagogue building is one of fewer than a hundred nineteenth-century synagogues still standing in the United States, and the second oldest synagogue building in the state. The congregation is inactive and the former synagogue building is leased to an Episcopal church for use as a food pantry.

L. D. Giddens and Son Jewelry Store is a historic commercial building located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was built between 1839 and 1847, and is a two-story, three-bay, brick building. It measures 104 feet long and 23 feet, 6 inches wide. It features cast iron ornamentation and a freestanding clock (1877) at the street measuring 14 feet high. L. D. Giddens and Son was founded in 1859 and may be the oldest jewelry store in North Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Wayne Executive Jetport (ICAO: KGWW, FAA LID: GWW) is a public use airport located in Pikeville, NC, three miles north of Goldsboro, in Wayne County, North Carolina. The airport is owned by Wayne County. It was formerly Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, when it was owned by both City of Goldsboro and Wayne County. The Jetport is governed by the Wayne Executive Jetport (WEJP) Commission, which assists the county with management and development at the Jetport. The WEJP Commission consists of seven members, each serving a two-year term as appointed by the Wayne County Commissioners, along with one member from the Board of County Commissioners. Each January the WEJP Board elects the Chair and Vice Chair leadership positions for the year. Based on 2020 economic data, the Wayne Executive Jetport provides $1,800,000 in tax revenue to the local area, 345 jobs are supported, $58,200,000 local economic impact, and over 16,200 annual operations are conducted. There is a population of over 215,000 living within 30 minutes of the Jetport. Since July 2018 over $13,000,000 of investment has been made at the Jetport expanding the facility and operations. In 2020 The Executive Director of the WEJP was presented with the General Aviation Manager of the Year award for the Southern region of the FAA. Many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA. However, this airport is assigned GWW by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA. The GWW code is not currently used by the IATA, but it was previously assigned to the former RAF Gatow in Berlin, Germany.

Harry Fitzhugh Lee House is a historic home located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. It was built in 1922, and is a two-story, five-bay, Colonial Revival style brick dwelling with a gambrel roof and frame shed-roof dormers. A 1+1⁄2-story gambrel roofed addition was built in 1939. It features a covered porch supported by paired Doric order pillars. It was the home of Harry Fitzhugh Lee, a prominent Goldsboro businessman and a great-nephew of General Robert E. Lee. It was designed by local architect John David Gullett. The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
