The village was settled by Greek refugees from Raidestos (today's Tekirdag, Turkey) after the 1923 Population Exchange. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Thermi, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 3,869 inhabitants in the village and 4,101 inhabitants in the community. The community of Nea Raidestos covers an area of 14.65 km2.

The European Interbalkan Medical Center (Greek: Ιατρικό Διαβαλκανικό Κέντρο, Iatriko Diavalkaniko Kentro), is a major private general hospital located and based in Thessaloniki, Greece, on the road to the airport, opposite of the commercial center of Apollonia (Florida) and close to Mediterranean Cosmos. It was founded by businessman Giorgos Apostolopoulos in 2000. It offers a wide variety of medical and surgical treatments, and has 383 beds.

Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum (NOESIS) is a science and technology located at the outskirts of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. The museum is actively engaged in the protection of the Greek technological heritage. NOESIS has a 150-seat digital planetarium, a 300-seat Cosmotheatre with the largest flat screen in Greece, a 200-seat amphitheatre, as well as a motion simulator theater with three platforms, 3-D projection, and 6-axis movement. Elena Paparizou, a Greek pop singer, filmed part of a videoclip for her song "Number One", that won the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.In 2017, the museum was awarded a special mention at the Mariano Gago Ecsite Awards for welcoming refugee families and providing educational and social programming.

The community of Tagarades covers an area of 15.325 km2.

Filothei (Greek: Φιλοθέη) is a village of the Thermi municipality, northern Greece. The 2011 census recorded 232 inhabitants in the village. Filothei is a part of the community of Nea Raidestos.

Panorama (Greek: Πανόραμα) is a suburb in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Macedonia, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pylaia-Chortiatis, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. Panorama has a population of 18,000 and is located at the foot of Mount Chortiatis. The municipal unit has an area of 21.321 km2.

Pylaia-Chortiatis (Greek: Πυλαία-Χορτιάτης) is a municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece, consisting of three suburbs of Thessaloniki. The seat of the municipality is Panorama. The municipality has an area of 155.63 km2.
