Birg (2,684 m) is a summit of the Bernese Alps, overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern. It lies on the east flank of the Schilthorn, above the village of Mürren. In winter Birg is part of a ski area and several cable car stations are located on its summit. Birg is also an intermediate station between Mürren and of the Schilthorn. Birg appears as the ski station nearest to Blofeld's alpine headquarters Piz Gloria in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." It is first seen from a helicopter, but also has a scene set on it later on.

The Allmendhubel (1,932 m) is a hill above Mürren, overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern. Its summit is easily accessible from Mürren by a funicular, the Allmendhubelbahn, which reaches a height of 1,907 metres. A restaurant is also located near the top. In winter, the Allmendhubel is part of a ski area and includes several ski lifts.

The Lauterbrunnen–Mürren Mountain Railway (German: Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen–Mürren, BLM, also known as Mürrenbahn) is a hybrid transport system in the Bernese Oberland area of Switzerland, which connects the villages of Lauterbrunnen and Mürren. The system consists of a connected aerial cableway, also known as the Grütschalpbahn, and an adhesion worked mountain railway. The cableway replaced a funicular, on the same route, in 2010.The line provides a vital passenger and goods link to the resort village of Mürren, which is situated above the cliffs of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and has poor road access. It also commands a view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains across the depths of that valley.The line is owned by the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren AG, a subsidiary of the Jungfraubahn Holding AG, a holding company that also owns the Wengernalpbahn, Jungfraubahn, Harderbahn, and Firstbahn. Through that holding company it is part of the Allianz - Jungfrau Top of Europe marketing alliance, which also includes the separately owned Berner Oberland-Bahn and Schynige Platte-Bahn.

Winteregg is a railway station on the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren, a hybrid cable car and rail link that connects the villages of Lauterbrunnen and Mürren in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Winteregg is the point at which trains on the rail link between Lauterbrunnen and Mürren pass.The station is served by the following passenger trains: There is also a restaurant at Winteregg and during the winter months a four-man chairlift with a bubble (constructed in 2009 and first used in the 2009–2010 season) takes skiers up the hillside.

Grütschalp is a railway station on the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren, a hybrid cable car and rail link that connects the villages of Lauterbrunnen and Mürren in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Grütschalp is the point of interchange between the cable car from Lauterbrunnen and the high-level railway from Mürren.The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren line opened in 1891, but until 2006 the connection between Lauterbrunnen and Grütschalp was effected by Seilbahn Lauterbrunnen–Grütschalp, a funicular railway. The current cable car replaced this when the funicular was damaged by landslides, and uses the same route and adapted terminal stations.The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren line also handles goods traffic to and from Mürren. This is done by carrying the goods in pallets that are carried under the cable car and on flat cars towed by the railcars. The pallets are transferred between the two by a complicated machine, part fork lift truck and part funicular, within the Grütschalp station complex. Seilbahn Mürren-Allmendhubel (SMA), also Allmendhubelbahn, is a funicular in Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. The Allmendhubelbahn was brought into service in 1912, in order to simplify trade with other communes. It was soon used by many tourists and mountain hikers, and in the winter by skiers. It begins in Mürren (at 46.5607°N 7.8928°E / 46.5607; 7.8928 (Allmendhubelbahn station at Mürren) 1,650 m or 5,413 ft above sea level) with a maximum upward gradient of 61% up to the Allmendhubel (at 46.564°N 7.889°E / 46.564; 7.889 (Allmendhubel station) 1,907 m or 6,257 ft). The 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge line is 551 m (1,808 ft) long. In 1999 the old red cars were replaced by new panoramic cars.

Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland, at an elevation of 1,638 metres (5,374 ft) above sea level and it cannot be reached by public road. It is also one of the popular tourist spots in Switzerland, and summer and winter are the seasons when Mürren becomes busy with tourists. The village features a view of the three towering mountains Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Mürren has a year-round population of 450, but has 2,000 hotel beds. Mürren has its own school and two churches, one Reformed and one Roman Catholic.

The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1931 were held 19–23 February in Mürren, Switzerland. These were the inaugural world championships for alpine skiing organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS), and consisted of downhill and slalom events for men and women.

The station is served by the following passenger trains: Between 1894 and the 1930s, Mürren station was linked to the Kurhaus in Mürren village by the Mürren tramway, a 500 m (1,600 ft) long, 500 mm (19+3⁄4 in) gauge, horse-drawn tramway. The passenger car for this line has been restored, and is now on display in the upper level of the station.

The Schilthorn (2,970 metres (9,744 ft)) is a summit in Europe, in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. It overlooks the valley of Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Oberland, and is the highest mountain in the range lying north of the Sefinenfurgge Pass. The Schilthorn lies above the village of Mürren, from where a cable car leads to its summit. Administratively, the summit is within the municipality of Lauterbrunnen, although the western slopes are within the municipality of Reichenbach im Kandertal. Both municipalities are in the canton of Bern. The summit has a panoramic view which spans from the Titlis, Jungfrau, Mönch, Eiger, over the Bernese Alps and the Jura mountains up to the Vosges Mountains and the Black Forest. Mont Blanc is also just visible.

The Mürrenbachfall is a waterfall in the Lauterbrunnental in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. The Mürrenbach, which rises above Mürren, passes the village on the southern edge of the town and falls here over the high rock walls of the Trogtal almost to the valley floor, is a left tributary of the Weissen Lütschine with a catchment area of three and a half square kilometers. According to studies from 2009, the Mürrenbachfall is considered the highest waterfall in Switzerland with a drop of 417 meters. The Mürrenbachfall, previously known as cascade fall was redefined by geographers into a single case because, upon careful investigation, they could not find any horizontal planes typical of cascades in the case. However, this assignment is not completely clear. The second highest waterfall in Switzerland is the Serenbachfall II, which is 305 meters high.The Mürrenbachfall is not a free-falling waterfall on an overhanging rock like, for example, the Staubbachfall, also located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, which at 297 meters is considered the highest free-falling waterfall in Switzerland. The water falls down here along the almost vertical rock of the Mürrenfluh. In addition to the main fall, there are various other waterfalls on the Mürrenbach, so that people often talk about the Mürrenbach Falls, which together fall 750 meters deep into the valley in several stages. The impact zone of the main fall is around 920 m. The waterfall is located near the valley station of the cable car to Mürren in Stechelberg, where the Mürrenbach flows into the Lütschine. It can also be clearly seen from the cable car.
