Burnaby North Secondary School is a secondary school in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It encompasses two buildings at 751 Hammarskjold Drive in Burnaby. Nearly 1,800 students from grades 8 to 12 attend the school. A statue of a Viking head, the mascot of the school's sports teams, stands in front of the two buildings. Burnaby North Secondary School is nestled in Kensington Park, providing room for the school's ice rink, 18 hole pitch and putt golfing centre, outdoor swimming pool, 3 tennis courts, 4 baseball diamonds, softball diamond, an artificial turf field, 6 lane 400 metre concrete track and field tracks, and 2 outdoor natural grass fields. It is the largest school by population and school area in the school district of Burnaby School District 41.

It is located between major roads running along its perimeter - Hastings Street, Curtis Street, Kensington Avenue and Holdom Avenue. Kensington Park is adjacent to Burnaby North Secondary School with its several sports fields, among them soccer and baseball. Kensington Arena, a neighbourhood ice rink, is at the entrance to the park. Kensington Park is mostly known for its pitch and putt facilities which attract many Burnaby golfers. Beecher Creek, one of the streams in North Burnaby, winds its way through Kensington Park.

Metrotown station in downtown Metrotown is the busiest station on weekends and the second-busiest on weekdays in regional Vancouver's urban transit system as of 2021.

Parkcrest is a hillside neighbourhood in North Burnaby, British Columbia adjacent to Kensington Park which gave it its name. It has a long rectangular shape stretched north to south and is bounded by Springer Avenue to the west and Kensington Avenue to the east. To the north its border runs along Hastings Street, its southern border lies along the Lougheed Highway and Skytrain tracks. Its elevation gradually lowers to the south and ends up in Central Valley, quite low above the level of Burnaby Lake.

The station is located on the southeast corner of the intersection at Sperling Avenue and Lougheed Highway in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. The Burnaby Lake Regional Park is located nearby, from which the name of the station is partially derived.

The Central Valley Greenway (CVG) is a 24-kilometre pedestrian and cyclist route in Metro Vancouver, running from Science World in Vancouver to New Westminster, through Burnaby. The greenway officially opened on June 27, 2009, with opening celebrations, guided bike tours, and walking tours on sections of the route. Despite its official opening, some sections are complete on an interim basis and are anticipated to be upgraded in the future. The total cost of the greenway was approximately $24 million. Funding was provided by the government of Canada, the province of British Columbia, TransLink, Metro Vancouver, and the cities of Vancouver, Burnaby, and New Westminster. The greenway was catalyzed by a grant given to Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) by Vancity Credit Union, in recognition of its transportation advocacy efforts, such as advocating for the construction of the greenway.

Montecito, for administrative and planning purposes also known as "Sperling-Broadway", is a neighbourhood in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Montecito is located to the southwest of Burnaby Mountain, between Kensington Avenue to the west and Greystone Drive and Arden Avenue to the east. Halifax Street and the Lougheed Highway form its northern and southern boundaries respectively. It used to be part of a larger Lochdale neighbourhood. The area is served by several bus routes such as #134, #144 and #136. Sperling – Burnaby Lake Station is directly to the south. There are two elementary schools in this area - Sperling and Montecito. Burnaby North Secondary School serves this and neighbouring areas. Two major attractions are Burnaby Mountain Golf Course and the adjacent Squint Lake. There is a small Montecito Park with some tennis courts.
