Bayport Aerodrome

Bayport is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County, New York, United States, on Long Island. The population was 8,609 at the 2020 census.Bayport is in the southeast part of the Town of Islip.

Bayport was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located on Railroad Street between Oakwood and Snedecor Avenues in Bayport, New York, and was the easternmost station along the Montauk Branch in the Town of Islip.

Bayport-Blue Point High School is a high school in Bayport, New York, United States. It was originally constructed in 1927 as an elementary school and high school for the Hamlet of Bayport. It is part of Bayport-Blue Point Union-Free School District, along with three elementary schools (Academy Street, Blue Point, and Sylvan Avenue) and one middle school (James Wilson Young Middle School). The school originally consisted of a single unit built in 1927, with numerous additions over the years, one in 1940 and another in 1960. In March 2003, the Bayport-Blue Point School district passed a bond referendum that gave the high school significant upgrades. During the 2003-2004 school year, a new auditorium was built at the southwest corner of the school, and the music rooms were renovated. During the 2004-2005 school year, another addition was added at the northeast corner of the school incorporating a new front entrance, an enlarged cafeteria, and ten new classrooms. During the 2005-2006 school year, the gymnasium received significant upgrades, which included the addition of a newer but smaller auxiliary gymnasium, new weight rooms, and a secondary gymnasium lobby. The bond, which was completed in time for the 2006-2007 school year, cost $35.5 million, and added approximately 50,000 square feet in additional space.In November 2015, the district passed another bond worth $30 million, of which $8 million is going into the high school. Among the improvements are the construction of two brand-new turf fields, restoration of the original 1927 building, locker replacement, and curb/masonry restoration.

The Shops at SunVet is a shopping center located in Holbrook, in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The center opened in 1973 as Sun Vet Mall (also known as the Sun-Vet Mall, SunVet Mall, or simply as Sun Vet), with it becoming a major shopping destination in the area. As of 2023, it is slated to be transformed into an outdoor shopping center, with construction continuing as of October 2023. The anchor stores have included Toys "R" Us, A.C. Moore, Pathmark, Citibank, Red Wing Shoes, Kid City, Mandee, and Payless Shoes; the Citibank is the only store still in operation as of October 2023.

Blue Point was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road It was located on Martha Avenue on the south side of the tracks in Blue Point, New York, and was the westernmost station along the Montauk Branch in the Town of Brookhaven. Access to the station was through a driveway that emptied onto Blue Point Avenue. The station was originally opened on February 1, 1870, by the South Side Railroad of Long Island and closed on June 1, 1882. The second depot opened around June, 1900, evidently in conjunction with the bridge over Blue Point Avenue. The newer station also had a connection to the South Shore Traction Company trolleys, which were later replaced by Suffolk Traction Company trolleys. Blue Point station closed on September 6, 1980, in conjunction with the nearby Bayport Station. It was located between Bayport and Patchogue stations. The former station site, across from the Blue Point Wine & Liquor store, remains, to this day, gated off, and covered partially in trees, leaves, and weeds.

John Ellis Roosevelt Estate, also known as Meadow Croft, is a historic estate located at Sayville in Suffolk County, New York. The main house, roughly L-shaped, is composed of two distinct parts: the original farmhouse, built about 1850, and now the rear of the house; and the larger, more formal Colonial Revival mansion built 1891-1892 and set perpendicular to it. The original section is a two-story, rectangular farmhouse, sheathed in clapboard and surmounted by a gable roof. The 1891–92 section is a clapboarded, two-story structure with an elaborate facade with generous porch and surmounted by a steeply pitched, truncated hipped roof. Also on the property are contributing carriage house, equipment barn, garage, caretaker's cottage, swimming pool, storage hut, and archaeological sites. The property was purchased by Robert Barnwell Roosevelt (1829–1906) in 1873; his son John Ellis Roosevelt (1853–1939) commissioned the estate.The estate is located on the grounds of Sans Soucci Lakes County Park, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.The Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association has restored the mansion and offers seasonal tours and exhibits of local history.

Sayville is a hamlet and census-designated place in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Located on the South Shore of Long Island in the Township of Islip, the population of the CDP was 16,853 at the time of the 2010 census.

Joseph Wood House is a historic home located at Sayville in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1889 and is a 2-story, wood-framed Shingle Style dwelling of complex massing. It has a gambrel-roofed main block with 1+1⁄2-story wings. It features a continuous porch with attenuated Doric order columns and a porte cochere.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Blue Point Brewing Company is a brewery that is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev located on Long Island, in Patchogue, New York. The brewery offers a variety of year-round beers, and several seasonal brews, as well as a 'tasting room' which is open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The brewery hosts an annual Cask Ale Festival, concerts and other events in the brew yard.

Briarcliffe College - Patchogue was a campus of Briarcliffe College located in Patchogue, New York, on the south shore of Long Island in Suffolk County. It offered associate and bachelor degree coursework, covering areas including accounting, business administration, criminal justice, computer programming, graphic design, word processing and office technologies. The campus permanently closed in 2018.

Seton Hall High School was located on 155 West Roe Boulevard in Patchogue, New York. Prior to 1952, the school was situated in bungalows on South Ocean Avenue. It opened in September 1937 and was closed in June 1974. Seton Hall was one of very few co-educational Catholic High Schools on Long Island, New York. The team mascot was the Eagle. The school motto was "Esse quam videri" meaning "To be, rather than to seem (to be)" and it appeared on the class rings of the school. The former campus is now home to St. Joseph's College.
