Old Womans Creek is a stream in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. It is a tributary to Old Mans Creek. According to tradition, Old Womans Creek was named for its use as a remote hiding spot for Native American women during tribal conflicts.

The Miller Round Barn was a historic building located near Sharon Center in rural Johnson County, Iowa, United States. It was constructed in 1918 by John Schrader. The bank barn that was built on a slope was an example of the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station / H.E. Crouch type. The building was a true round barn that measured 60 feet (18 m) in diameter. It was covered in white vertical siding and features a two-pitch roof and a 10-foot (3.0 m) central silo. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1986. The barn has subsequently been torn down.

Welsh Congregational United Church of Christ, formerly known as First Welsh Congregational Church, is located in a rural area southwest of Iowa City, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

St. John's Lutheran Church, also known as Evangelical St. John's German Lutheran Church, was a complex of historic buildings located north of Kalona, Iowa, United States. This Lutheran congregation was organized in 1870 by German immigrants who settled in southern Johnson County in the 1860s. It began as a mission under the direction of the Rev. J. Hoerlin, Sr., and it was formally incorporated in 1875. The simple frame church building was completed that same year. It rested on a concrete block foundation, from 1917, and featured three round-arch windows on the side walls and a fanlight over the main entrance. When the Rev. H. Hertle came as the first resident pastor in 1878 a two-story frame parsonage was built next to the church. Behind the church and parsonage sat an outhouse and a catechetical room that was used for children's religious instruction. Services in English were begun in 1905 because the younger members no longer spoke German.From the turn of the 20th century until 1955 the congregation slowly declined in numbers. From 1955 to 1958 a minister from Iowa City conducted services here. After that time only occasional services for funerals or family reunions were held. By the time the buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, they were in poor condition. They have all subsequently been torn down. A small cemetery remains in the church grounds.

Picayune Creek is a stream in Johnson County, Iowa, in the United States. It is a tributary to Dirty Face Creek. Picayune was so named because a pioneer who settled on the creek charged one picayune for salting a calf.

The Bowery Street Grocery Store, also known as Helmer's Grocery and as the New Pioneer Food Cooperative, is a historic building located on the east side of Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The building's construction is consistent with those built in the mid-19th century. The single-story wood-frame structure with the false front was a popular commercial style building that was built in Iowa from that time period. Although the exterior structure has not changed significantly since it was first built, the interior has been renovated heavily. The only original interior feature that remains is the shelving against the building's west wall.Beginning about 1897 the city directory lists this location as a meat market and grocery store. It would continue to house that type of business, under a variety of owners or renters until 1975. The New Pioneer Food Co-op was the last grocery to occupy the space, beginning in 1971, until it relocated to a larger facility. At some point it was illegally converted into student housing, which was not permitted due to the building's small square footage. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. As of August, 2023, a coffee shop operates out of the Bowery Street Grocery Store.

The First Johnson County Asylum is a historic building located on the far west side of Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The first facility Johnson County built to care for paupers and the mentally ill was a four-room cabin in 1855. Two wings were added to the original building six years later. All that remains of this structure is this wing that housed the mentally ill. The single-story wood-frame structure with a gable roof was used by the county for this purpose until 1886 when a new facility was completed. It was initially thought that it was built in 1859, but later research revealed that it was built in 1861 and that it was moved a short distance to this location in 1888. This building served for many years as a hog building on the Johnson County Poor Farm. It is now part of an education-based farm program called Grow:Johnson County. The building was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. In 2014 it was included as a contributing property in the Johnson County Poor Farm and Asylum Historic District.
