St Swithun's Way

Kitwood is a hamlet in the parish of Four Marks, Hampshire, England. It is in the south east of the Parish and has been part of Four Marks since its creation in 1932. Prior to this, it was part of Ropley Parish. Although the settlement was located at the junction of Kitwood road and Swelling, as is visible in older maps, the settlement now spreads all the way from Swelling hill pond to Kitwood farm near Hawthorn Road.

Four Marks is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 4.4 miles (7.1 km) southwest of Alton, on the A31 road. It is situated on the borders of the South Downs National Park on the Pilgrims' Way that leads from Winchester to Canterbury. It contains within it the medieval hamlets of Kitwood, Hawthorn and Lymington, although now the whole parish is relatively closely settled.

Medstead and Four Marks railway station is a railway station in the English county of Hampshire, serving the villages of Medstead and Four Marks. At 644 ft above sea level, it is currently (2016) the highest operational standard-gauge railway station in Southern England.

Soldridge is a hamlet in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Alton, just off the A31 road. The nearest railway station is the restored Medstead & Four Marks station on the Watercress Line, trains from which connect with the nearest national rail station 5 miles (8 km) to the northeast, at Alton.

Charlwood is a small hamlet in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is in the large civil parish of Ropley and partially in East Tisted.

Monkwood is a Hamlet in the south of Ropley parish. Although currently it is spread between Petersfield Road and Hill Farm Road, historically it referred to the settlement on the south side of Smugglers Lane (SU 6605630920) containing the 15th Century Smugglers, the 16th Century The Old Farmhouse and the C18th century cottage between the two. The more recent settlement between Petersfield Road and Hill Farm Lane originates from around the late 1800s, with only two settlements; Hill Farm and Ropley Common Farm visible in the 1870s OS Map.

North Street is a hamlet in the parish of Ropley in Hampshire, England. The hamlet lies on the A31 road from Alton to Winchester.

Ropley is a village and large civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It has an acreage of 4,684 acres (1,896 ha), situated 4 miles (6.4 km) east from New Alresford, and is served by a station on the Mid Hants Railway heritage line at Ropley Dean, just over 1 mile (1.6 km) from the village shops. It is 6.7 miles (10.8 km) southwest of Alton, just off the A31 road. It lies within the diocese of Winchester. The St Swithun's Way, part of the Pilgrims' Way from Winchester to Canterbury, passes through the village. It is distinguished by its general absence of pavements in favour of boundary walls, hedges and mature trees. Ropley holds an annual Boxing Day walk, and a pram race on the spring bank holiday in May.

Medstead is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Alton, which lies 4.3 miles (6.9 km) northeast of the village. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 2,036 people. The parish covers an area of 1,536 acres (622 ha) and has an average elevation of approximately 600 feet (180 m) above sea level. One of the county's high points at 716 feet (218 m), King's Hill, runs through Medstead and Bentworth. The earliest evidence of settlement in the village comes from two Tumuli burial grounds which date from 1000 BC. Roman pottery and coins have also been found in the area. A chapel in the village was first mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086 and was soon replaced by a Norman church. The village has six Grade II listed buildings, including the 12th century St Andrew's Church and its war memorial, a farmhouse and a Victorian wheelhouse with a working donkey wheel. Medstead was one of the first villages in the United Kingdom to receive broadband. The parish contains three individual hamlets; South Town, Soldridge and Hattingley. Medstead also has its own restored railway station on the Watercress Line, services from which connect with the nearest national rail station 4.6 miles (7.4 km) at Alton railway station.

King's Hill is one of the highest points in the county of Hampshire, England. It is part of the Hampshire Downs and reaches 218 metres (715 ft) above sea level. Its prominence of 46 metres qualifies it as one of England's TuMPs. King's Hill is situated in the parish of Bentworth. It lies on the Abbey Road between the villages of Medstead and Beech. To the northeast is Alton Abbey. Chawton Park Wood lies to the south of the open hilltop.
