Whittier is an unincorporated community in Linn County, Iowa, United States.

Whittier Friends Meeting House (also known as Springville Friends Meeting House; Quaker Corners) is a historic church building at the junction of County Roads E34 and X20 in Whittier, Iowa. It was built in 1893. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It was deemed significant in the areas of religion and architecture. The National Register nomination noted:The building reflects the religious and architectural heritage of a small but locally significant religious group, the Conservative Wilburite Friends of Iowa. The building embodies their conception of right building, which maintained a predilection for unadorned simplicity. The meeting house meets the requirements of Criteria consideration A for significant religious properties. It is a tangible reflection of the broad patterns of Midwestern religious development. The Whittier Friends cemetery is immediately adjacent the meeting house and is included as a contributing element to the nomination.

The Springville Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Springville, Iowa. The district is completely within Linn County, and serves the city of Springville and the surrounding rural areas. The district is planning to renovate the elementary building by the summer of 2023 and secondary building by the summer of 2025.

Springville is a city in Linn County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,154 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Grant Wood's "Fall Plowing" Rural Historic Landscape District is a 123-acre (50 ha) historic district near Viola, Iowa. A date of significance for the district is 1931. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The district includes four contributing buildings and one other contributing site.

The Matsell Bridge is a historic structure located northeast of Springville, Iowa, United States. It carries Matsell Park Road for 303 feet (92 m) over the Wapsipinicon River. This bridge replaced a bowstring truss bridge that had been built in stages between 1870 and 1906. E.W. Blumenschein, bridge design engineer for the Iowa State Highway Commission, recommended a plate girder bridge as a replacement. Clifford Shoemaker, District Engineer of the Federal Bureau of Public Roads, approved the plans as the new span was built by the Works Progress Administration. It was constructed by Amos Melberg for about $22,300. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church is a former parish church of the Archdiocese of Dubuque located in Stone City, Iowa, United States. Catholics in Stone City were initially served by priests from Cedar Rapids and Anamosa. Mass was celebrated in parishioner's homes until 1881 when permission was granted to use a large hall in Stone City. The parish was established in 1901 and the cornerstone for the church building was laid in 1913. It was completed later the same year. The first mass was celebrated in 1914. The church was designed by Dubuque, Iowa architect Guido Beck. The stained glass windows of the church were imported from Germany. The limestone used for the building was donated by city quarries. Otto Braun served as the contractor, and the labor to construct the church was also donated by local quarry businesses. The lower level of the building houses the parish hall. The rear of the church can be seen anchoring the left side of Grant Wood's painting Stone City (1930). The parish started to lose parishioners in the 1920s when the stone quarries started to decline. Its size increased again in the 1950s before economic factors once again caused it to decline. The archdiocese closed the parish in 1992, and church building became an oratory. A year later, the church's rectory was auctioned off on June 27, 1993. The church building was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It was included as a contributing property in the Stone City Historic District in 2008.

The John A. Green Estate (also known as the Green-Nissen Estate) is a historic property in Stone City, Iowa, United States. The estate covers 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land. The buildings were constructed of Anamosa Limestone quarried from John Green's own local business. The estate was individually listed as a historic district on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was included as a contributing property in the Stone City Historic District in 2008.

The Stone City Art Colony was an art colony founded by Edward Rowan, Adrian Dornbush, and Grant Wood. The colony gathered on the John A. Green Estate in Stone City, Iowa during the summers of 1932 and 1933.
