Veradale—originally known as Vera—is a locale and former census-designated place in Spokane County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,387 at the 2000 census. Veradale retains its own post office.

Trentwood is a locale and former census-designated place (CDP) in Spokane County, Washington, United States, east across the Spokane River from Irwin. The population was 4,388 at the 2000 census. Trentwood joined the other unincorporated communities in the region to form the city of Spokane Valley in 2003.

Central Valley High School, often referred to as "CV", is a high school located in Spokane Valley, Washington. Central Valley is one of the three high schools in Central Valley School District #356.

Shelley Lake is a small lake located entirely in the city of Spokane Valley, in the U.S. state of Washington. The lake is surrounded on three sides by the 248 lot gated community of Shelley Lake Estates. The lake is kept full by Saltese Creek, which is supplied by drainage canals from the Saltese Flats. Although an open lake, there are no above-ground outflows.

Saltese Creek is an approximately 9 mi (14 km) long stream in Spokane County, Washington, United States. Originally only 3.5 miles (5.6 km), the lower 5.5 miles (8.9 km) of the stream, along with around 10 mi (16 km) of drainage canals were dug to drain Saltese Lake. The stream now functions as one of two primary inflows (the other being Quinnamose Creek), as well as the primary outflow for the Saltese Flats (the residual wetlands of the drained lake). The stream has its headwaters near the summit of Mica Peak and terminates at Shelley Lake, which was created as a result of draining Saltese Lake.

East Valley High School (also known as EVHS) is a large public high school located in Spokane Valley, Washington at the corner of Sullivan and Wellesley. East Valley provides educational opportunities to nearly 1,000 students in grades 9–12. Located on a scenic 40-acre (160,000 m2) site, the high school campus includes athletic fields, two gyms, twelve tennis courts, a track, and a fitness center.

Spokane Valley is a city in Spokane County, Washington, United States, and the largest suburb of Spokane. It is located east of Spokane, west of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and surrounds the city of Millwood on three sides. The city incorporated as the City of Spokane Valley on March 31, 2003. The population was 102,976 at the 2020 census, making it the eighth-largest city in Washington state. Spokane Valley is named after the valley of the Spokane River, in which it is located. The city and the general area is colloquially referred to as "The Valley" by residents of the Spokane–Coeur d'Alene area. Spokane Valley hosts a variety of community events such as the Spokane County Interstate Fair, Valleyfest, and the Inland Northwest Craft Beer Festival and is home to the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum and the home ground of the Spokane Indians minor league baseball team.

East Valley School District encompasses approximately 100 sq mi (260 km2) in the City of Spokane Valley and areas of unincorporated Spokane County. The district boundaries extend from Butler Road in Spokane Valley east to the Idaho border, and from the Spokane River north to the foothills of Mount Spokane. The district operates six K-8 elementary schools; one comprehensive high school; an Enrichment Center that offers extensive early-childhood education, alternative education and special education; and a wide array of online learning programs that serve both residents of the area and many beyond. In addition, East Valley co-manages a vocational skills center with adjacent districts.

Opportunity is a locale and former census-designated place in Spokane County, Washington, United States. The population was 25,065 at the 2000 census.

University High School, often referred to as "U-Hi" or "U-High", is a public high school for grades nine through twelve in Spokane Valley, Washington, United States. It is part of the Central Valley School District in Spokane Valley. In late 2002, the school campus moved approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) to its current location. The current building is capable of housing around 1650 students. Because of the growing number of students attending, U-High is no longer accepting additional students, and many of the teachers must trade classrooms during the day.
