East Valley High School (also known as EVHS) is a large public high school located in Spokane Valley, Washington at the corner of Sullivan and Wellesley. East Valley provides educational opportunities to nearly 1,000 students in grades 9–12. Located on a scenic 40-acre (160,000 m2) site, the high school campus includes athletic fields, two gyms, twelve tennis courts, a track, and a fitness center.

It is about 9.5 miles away from NorthTown Mall in Spokane which is the largest mall in Eastern Washington. The current anchors are JCPenney and Macy's, and it includes a Regal Cinemas with 12 screens. The mall opened in 1997 featuring Sears, JCPenney, and The Bon Marche.On November 7, 2019, it was announced that Sears would be closing this location a part of a plan to close 96 stores nationwide. The store closed in February 2020.

East Valley School District encompasses approximately 100 sq mi (260 km2) in the City of Spokane Valley and areas of unincorporated Spokane County. The district boundaries extend from Butler Road in Spokane Valley east to the Idaho border, and from the Spokane River north to the foothills of Mount Spokane. The district operates six K-8 elementary schools; one comprehensive high school; an Enrichment Center that offers extensive early-childhood education, alternative education and special education; and a wide array of online learning programs that serve both residents of the area and many beyond. Central Valley High School, often referred to as "CV", is a high school located in Spokane Valley, Washington. Central Valley is one of the three high schools in Central Valley School District #356.

Shelley Lake is a small lake located entirely in the city of Spokane Valley, in the U.S. state of Washington. The lake is surrounded on three sides by the 248 lot gated community of Shelley Lake Estates. The lake is kept full by Saltese Creek, which is supplied by drainage canals from the Saltese Flats. Although an open lake, there are no above-ground outflows.

Saltese Creek is an approximately 9 mi (14 km) long stream in Spokane County, Washington, United States. Originally only 3.5 miles (5.6 km), the lower 5.5 miles (8.9 km) of the stream, along with around 10 mi (16 km) of drainage canals were dug to drain Saltese Lake. The stream now functions as one of two primary inflows (the other being Quinnamose Creek), as well as the primary outflow for the Saltese Flats (the residual wetlands of the drained lake). The stream has its headwaters near the summit of Mica Peak and terminates at Shelley Lake, which was created as a result of draining Saltese Lake.

Greenacres is a locale and former census-designated place (CDP) in Spokane County, Washington, United States. The locale is almost entirely split between the city of Spokane Valley and unincorporated Spokane County, with a small portion being located within the city of Liberty Lake. Greenacres retains its own post office.Greenacres has two schools in the Central Valley School District named after it; Greenacres Middle School and Greenacres Elementary School.
