Eaves is a hamlet in Lancashire, England, six miles north of Preston. It is part of the Fylde, a flat area of land between the Forest of Bowland and the Lancashire coast. The village has a school, St. Mary and St. Andrew's Catholic Primary School, and a pub, the Plough at Eaves, which is the oldest in the Fylde. It was originally called the Cheadle Plough Inn.Eaves is in the parish of Woodplumpton.

Inskip-with-Sowerby is a civil parish in the Borough of Wyre, in Lancashire, England. A part of the Fylde, the parish includes the village of Inskip and the hamlets Crossmoor to the west and Sowerby to the east. Also Inskip Moss Side lies about a mile north-west of the village at grid reference SD452391. In 2011 it had a population of 840. The parish adjoins the Wyre parishes of Great Eccleston, Upper Rawcliffe-with-Tarnacre and Myerscough and Bilsborrow, along with Woodplumpton in the City of Preston and also Treales, Roseacre and Wharles and Elswick in the Borough of Fylde.

The Plough at Eaves is a public house on Eaves Lane in Eaves, Lancashire, a hamlet of Woodplumpton. It is owned by Thwaites Brewery. Dating to 1625, when it was a free house, it is believed to be the oldest pub in Lancashire. At one time the pub was named the Plough at Cuddy Hill, or the Cuddy Pub. Cuddy Hill references an area rather than a village. There was a Battle of Cuddy Hill in 1546, and the Plough is said to stand somewhere on the battlefield. It was also used as a refuge by the opposing sides in the 1648 Battle of Preston. Another of its early names was the Cheadle Plough Inn. The main bar is in the larger of the two sections of the pub. A smaller bar is in the fieldstone portion of the building. The pub had a K6-style red telephone box outside until around 2017. A pedestal-style post box from around the 1960s remains.

Inskip is a small village in the Fylde area of Lancashire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Inskip-with-Sowerby. The village is close to the former RNAS Inskip airfield, which still serves the armed forces as a tri-service communication centre. It is home to one of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets training centres.

St Anne's is a church in the village of Woodplumpton in Lancashire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn, and the archdeaconry of Lancaster, and the deanery of Garstang. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The churchyard at St Anne's is the supposed burial place of a 17th-century alleged witch named Meg Shelton.

Woodplumpton is a village and civil parish in the City of Preston, Lancashire, England, located 5 miles (8 km) north of Preston.

Salwick is a village between Kirkham and Preston in Lancashire, England. The village is largely rural and is an extension of the smaller Clifton to the south. It is in the borough of Fylde, and in the Parliamentary Constituency of Fylde, and forms part of the civil parish of Newton-with-Clifton. It is at grid reference SD466320, and is served by Salwick railway station. The area of "Clifton With Salwick" was in the Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of Chester. The etymology of Salwick is unclear. The "wick" may come from Old English wic, meaning an earlier Romano-British settlement specialised in farming; but the "Sal(w)" element is unclear. Salwick is the home of the Springfields nuclear fuel manufacturing plant operated by Westinghouse Electric Company, which dominates the village. In November 2021 a poultry farm near Salwick was the location for an outbreak of Bird Flu (Avian influenza H5N1). Temporary control zones spanning 3 km (1.9 mi) and 10 km (6.2 mi) around the property were set up, spanning from Blackpool to Fulwood.

Royal Naval Air Station Inskip (RNAS Inskip, also known as HMS Nightjar), was a Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm airbase near the village of Inskip, Lancashire, England. It saw considerable aircrew training activity towards the end of the Second World War. In the 1960s and 70s it was a Royal Navy transmitting station known as HMS Inskip. It is now a military high frequency radio transmitting station known as MOD Inskip.

Springfields is a nuclear fuel production installation in Salwick, near Preston in Lancashire, England (grid reference SD468315). The site is currently operated by Springfields Fuels Limited, under the management of Westinghouse Electric UK Limited, on a 150-year lease from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. Since its conversion from a munitions factory in 1946, it has previously been operated and managed by a number of different organisations including the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and British Nuclear Fuels. Fuel products are produced for the UK's nuclear power stations and for international customers.

Myerscough is a hamlet and former civil parish on the River Brock, 14 miles (23 km) from Lancaster, now in the parish of Myerscough and Bilsborrow, in the Wyre district, in the county of Lancashire, England. In 2001 it has a population of 1111. Since 1267 the Duchy of Lancaster has had land holdings in Myerscough.

Lea ( LEE-ə), Cottam, and Lea Town are villages in the City of Preston, Lancashire, England. Together they form the civil parish of Lea, which has a population of 5,962. In 2011, the population increased to 6157.

The River Brock is a river running through the county of Lancashire in England. Commencing its journey on Fair Snape Fell, the infant River Brock runs beneath the Bleasdale Circle before continuing via Claughton and Bilsborrow to St Michael's On Wyre, where it joins the River Wyre. A significant length of River Brock forms the northern boundary of City of Preston, Lancashire.
