Greater Rosario is the metropolitan area of the city of Rosario, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. This metropolis has a population of about 1.3 million (1,276,000 million inhabitants) thus being Argentina's third most populated urban settlement, after Buenos Aires and Córdoba.The Greater Rosario comprises Rosario itself (population about 910,000) and a large area around it, spreading in all directions except eastward (because of the Paraná River). Directly to the south it includes the city of Villa Gobernador Gálvez, with a population of about 75,000, at about 10 km (6.2 mi) from the center of Rosario. To the west and south-west there are several smaller towns and cities (Funes, Roldán, Pérez, Soldini); Roldán is 23 km from Rosario's center. These settlements were incorporated into the metropolis due to their vicinity to major roads leading into Rosario, and many people living there habitually commute to Rosario. The farthest end is to the north, following the coast of the river; from Rosario one finds, in succession and usually merging into each other, the towns of Granadero Baigorria, Capitán Bermúdez, Fray Luis Beltrán, San Lorenzo (already in a different departamento, with a population of over 40,000), and Puerto General San Martín, the last being at a distance of 35 km from Rosario. The north of the Greater Rosario is one end of an area traditionally called Cordón Industrial ("Industrial Corridor"), since it was traditionally a heavily industrialized productive region. The prelude to the economic crisis in the 1990s largely dismantled the industrial infrastructure and damaged agricultural exports. As of 2006 the recovery of national economy has revitalized them, but high levels of poverty and unemployment persist (the last official survey indicates that 27.4% of the population is under the poverty line).

The Rosario Department (in Spanish, Departamento Rosario) is an administrative subdivision (departamento) of the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located on the south of the province, with its eastern border coinciding with the provincial border along the Paraná River. It has an area of 1,890 square kilometres (730 sq mi) and a population of 1.3 million, with a population density of about 700 inhabitants/km2. This department is the most populated in the province (comprising more than one third of the total population). The department's head town is the city of Rosario; most of the population is concentrated in its metropolitan area (Greater Rosario), which reaches north into the neighboring San Lorenzo Department. Other important cities and towns are Ibarlucea, Granadero Baigorria, Funes, Pérez, Piñero, Zavalla, Pueblo Nuevo, Villa Diego, Álvarez, Villa Amelia, Acebal, Uranga, Arroyo Seco, Fighiera, and Coronel Bogado. Limiting the Rosario Department to the south is the Constitución Department (whose head town is Villa Constitución) and to the east and north, the San Lorenzo Department (head town San Lorenzo). On the eastern border, along the Paraná River, is the heart of the Industrial Corridor, a productive area with a concentration of light industries (such as soybean oil and pod processing) and major ports.

The Estadio Cubierto Newell's Old Boys (English: "Covered Stadium of Newell's Old Boys") is an indoor arena that is located in Rosario, Argentina. It is primarily used for basketball games, and other indoor sporting events. It holds 7,500 people for basketball games, and up to 11,400 spectators for concerts. It was opened in 1982 to host the II South American Games.

Estadio Marcelo A. Bielsa is Newell's Old Boys' multi-use stadium in Rosario, Argentina. It didn't have any official name until December 22, 2009, when it was named after the former manager of the club Marcelo Bielsa. Until then it was simply called El Coloso del Parque ("The Colossus of the Park"), and this remained as the stadium's popular name. It is currently used mostly for football matches, but it has hosted some rugby matches sometimes, albeit rarely. The stadium was built in 1911, and has been expanded several times since. It currently holds 42,000.

The Dr. Julio Marc Provincial Historical Museum (in Spanish, Museo Histórico Provincial Dr. Julio Marc) is a museum in Rosario, Argentina. It comprises more than 30 rooms hosting collections of archaeological items, Spanish-American art, numismatics, pre-Columbian textile and silverwork crafts, and weapons, complemented by archives, a library, and collections of historical newspapers and maps. The museum is located within the grounds of the Parque de la Independencia. It is administered by the government of the province of Santa Fe. It was founded in 1939, during the governorship of Manuel Iriondo, and received the name of Julio Marc, its first director. The architect of the neo-classical structure was Ángel Guido.

The Parque de la Independencia (Independence Park) is a large public park in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located near the geographical center of the city, its limits defined by Moreno Street and three important avenues: Pellegrini Avenue, Ovidio Lagos Avenue, and 27 de Febrero Boulevard. It has a surface area of 1.26 km2 (0.49 sq mi). It includes a number of attractions: The Rosedal (Rose Garden), finished in 1915, with several species of roses, as well as sculptures and fountains. The French Garden, built in 1942, with many flower arrangements and a large marble fountain. The Calendar, where every evening since 1946 gardeners re-arrange the flowers to show the date written on the ground. An area reserved for fairs, initially intended for agricultural expositions, then also industry and commerce. The former Rosario Jockey Club's horsetrack. The Museum of the City, opened in 1902, initially the School of Gardener Apprentices. The Jorge Newbery Municipal Stadium, started in 1925, the first state-funded sports venue for public use in the country. It hosted the 2005 South American Junior Championships in Athletics. The Patinódromo Municipal "Roberto Tagliabué" (Municipal Skating Rink), opened for the 1982 Southern Cross Games and host of the 2014 Inline speed skating World Championship. The Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum, opened in 1937. The Dr. Julio Marc Provincial Historical Museum, opened in 1939. The Children's Garden, an area of 35,000 m2 (380,000 sq ft) with amusement and educational facilities.The park also hosts three sports clubs: Club Gimnasia y Esgrima, Club Atlético Newell's Old Boys (one of the main football teams in the city), Club Atlético Provincial.

The Patio de la Madera, (Centro de Exposiciones y Convenciones Complejo Patio de la Madera) is a "Convention and Exposition Centre" complex located in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina, occupying two blocks opposite the Mariano Moreno Bus Terminal, near the geographic center of the city. The formal name is almost never used; the shorter form Centro de Convenciones Patio de la Madera is preferred even in official communications. The main buildings provide room for conventions, lectures and conferences, artistic exhibitions and shows, etc., with an auditorium for 1,800 people and six smaller facilities with capacities between 120 and 370 people. There are 4,000 m2 of covered area for exhibitions (plus another 1,000 semi-covered and 7,200 outdoors). The complex also includes two nightclubs, an amphitheater, a park area with modern sculptures and a small artificial lake, two international cuisine restaurants, a fast food restaurant, and parking space for 250 vehicles. The site of the Patio de la Madera was a former train station, a terminal of the Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano railway company that was abandoned when, in 1987, the cargo facilities were shut down and the rails were removed. The site was gradually recovered by the municipal government, starting during the administration of Mayor Horacio Usandizaga. By the early 2000s it was already a well-known center for national and international cultural activities.

Mariano Moreno bus station (Terminal de Ómnibus Mariano Moreno in Spanish) is a bus station located in the city of Rosario in Santa Fe Province, Argentina. The station receives near 340,000 buses a year (930 services per day) with an average of 13,500,000 people transported within a year (37,000 passengers per day), being the most important station not only of Rosario but other cities around. The station is located in the central-west region of the city, 3 km. from downtown Rosario. It has services such as bar, fast food restaurant, coffeehouses and other stores. Other services include parking lots, a bank and cash dispensers, a courier, a newsagent's shop, and accessible toilets. Buses daily depart to the main cities of Argentina and bordering countries.

The Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Rosario (Facultad de Ciencias Médicas in Spanish) is located in the city of Rosario, Argentina, in the central Santa Fe Avenue with France Avenue, segmenting the latter into two parts, form a set of four interlocking blocks of streets and interior corridors between different departments where there is also the Centennial Provincial Hospital.

The Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum (Spanish: Museo de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino) is an art museum in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina, considered the most important of the interior of the country and the second in national terms. It is administered by the municipal government. The museum lies within the Parque de la Independencia (the largest of Rosario's urban parks) immediately outside the city center, at the intersection of Oroño Boulevard and Pellegrini Avenue. The building was a project by architects Hilarión Hernández Larguía and Juan Manuel Newton and opened in 1936. It was donated to the Municipality by Mrs. Rosa Tiscornia de Castagnino in memory of her late son Juan Bautista Castagnino, an important art critic and collector at the time, and officially inaugurated as a museum on 7 December 1937. The museum has two floors, totalling 35 rooms with 700 linear meters available for exhibitions. The initial artistic patrimony of the museum was gathered from donations by private collectors, plus the patrimony of the former Municipal Fine Arts Museum, and then augmented by purchases by the municipality and the Museum Foundation. It now consists of more than 3,000 works, comprising European art, Argentine art of the 19th and 20th century, and works by Rosario artists until the 1930s. The contemporary art collection (about 300 works acquired in more recent times) was moved to a new museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (MACRo), opened in 2004.

The Hospital Provincial del Centenario (Spanish, Centennial Provincial Hospital) is a general hospital in Rosario, Argentina, which depends on the Health Ministry of the provincial state of Santa Fe. It is a public hospital, managed partly by an elected council. The HPC is located about ten blocks from the center of the city, on Urquiza St. and Francia Avenue. The hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario share a large area of 2-by-2 blocks and are communicated by inner passages. The hospital has 183 beds and services the north and north-west part of Rosario as well as neighboring towns in the west of the Greater Rosario metropolitan area. It is the base hospital for 9 primary care centers (in administrative terms, Programmatic Area II of Zone VIII of the Santa Fe Ministry of Health). The name of the hospital derives from its initial planning as part of the commemoration for the 100th anniversary of the May Revolution of 1810. In fact the hospital was built in several stages, and did not acquire its present form until much later than 1910.

The Museum of the City (in Spanish, Museo de la Ciudad) is a museum in Rosario, Argentina. It is located at 2300 Oroño Boulevard on a corner of the Parque de la Independencia, and is administered by the municipal government of Rosario. It was created on 24 August 1981 during the administration of mayor Alberto Natale. The museum was originally located at 1540 Oroño Bvld. in a property intended to be the mayor's residence. In the 1990s, the museum was moved to a new location: a building constructed in 1902 to house the park's administration and the Gardener's Apprentice School. The building was restored and adapted for its new function before officially re-opening on 27 August 1993. The museum's collection is composed of more than 7,000 objects, mostly everyday items as well as photographs and printed documents, books and periodicals; from the late 19th century to present.
