It offered baccalaureate, associate, and certificate programs in business and information technology as well as a sports program. Globe Institute of Technology was accredited by the New York State Board of Regents prior to ceasing operations in 2016.

Needle Threading A Button is a public sculpture in the Garment District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York, located on 191 W 39th St. It is owned buy the Garment District Alliance. It is the district's first permanent art installation, being made out of stainless steel and aluminum.

Golda Meir is an outdoor bronze sculpture of former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir. The sculpture is located at Golda Meir Square near Broadway and 39th Street in the Garment District of Manhattan, New York. It was unveiled in 1984. It is one of only five statues of women in New York City as of 2016.

The Metropolitan Opera House, also known as the Old Metropolitan Opera House and Old Met, was an opera house located at 1411 Broadway in Manhattan, New York City. Opened in 1883 and demolished in 1967, it was the first home of the Metropolitan Opera.

The Casino Theatre was a Broadway theatre located at 1404 Broadway and West 39th Street in New York City. Built in 1882, it was a leading presenter of mostly musicals and operettas until it closed in 1930.The theatre was the first in New York to be lit entirely by electricity, popularized the chorus line and later introduced white audiences to African-American shows. It originally seated approximately 875 people, however the theatre was enlarged in 1894 and again in 1905, after a fire, when its capacity was enlarged to 1,300 seats. It hosted a number of long-running comic operas, operettas and musical comedies, including Erminie, Florodora, The Vagabond King and The Desert Song. It closed in 1930 and was demolished the same year.

The William Esper Studio was founded in 1965 as a school for the performing arts in Manhattan, New York. The school is dedicated to the acting technique of Sanford Meisner. Its founder, William "Bill" Esper, is occasionally referred to as the best-known of Meisner's first generation teachers.The William Esper Studio was listed as one of The 25 Best Drama Schools for a Master of Fine Arts numerous times.

The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York is a public graduate journalism school located in New York City, New York, United States. One of the 25 institutions comprising the City University of New York, or CUNY, the school opened in 2006. It is the only public graduate school of journalism in the northeastern United States.The Newmark Graduate School of Journalism grants two Master of Arts degrees, the Master of Arts in Journalism, including a version with a unique bilingual subject concentration in English and Spanish, and the nation's first Master of Arts in Engagement Journalism. The school, which requires its MA students to complete a summer internship at a news organization in order to graduate, places a heavy emphasis on practical skills and hands-on experience. Its faculty is drawn from current and former journalists at The New York Times, BusinessWeek, The Economist, The Nation, NBC Nightly News, and PBS, among others.Graciela Mochkofsky is the third Dean of the Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. She succeeded Sarah Bartlett, who served as Dean from January 2014 to June 2022, and founding Dean Stephen B. Shepard, who headed the school from 2005 to 2014. In June 2018, the school announced it would change its name from the City University of New York's CUNY Graduate School of Journalism to the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, after the Craigslist founder donated $20 million to the school's foundation.

Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA), is a church located in New York City, founded in 1989 by Timothy J. Keller, who retired as pastor in July 2017. The family of Redeemer churches includes Redeemer Downtown (Sr. Pastor Pete Nicholas), Redeemer West Side (Sr. Pastor David Bisgrove), Redeemer East Side (currently searching for a senior pastor), Redeemer Lincoln Square (Pastor Michael Keller), and Redeemer East Harlem (Pastor Justin Adour). Christianity Today called Redeemer "one of Manhattan's most vital congregations."

The Hotel Normandie was a luxury hotel located on Broadway at 38th Street in New York City. The 8-story building was put up by Ferdinand Earl, an heir of the Fisher family, opening in 1884. Amenities were advertised to include "Steam heat, speaking tubes, electric bells, burglar and fire alarms attached to all rooms". Rooms rates started at $2/day. Dinner was available for $1.25 additional; a quart bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne was $4.The Leaders of the World electric sign was built on the roof of the hotel in 1910. The sign featured a chariot race scene.

The Knickerbocker Theatre, previously known as Abbey's Theatre and Henry Abbey's Theatre, was a Broadway theatre located at 1396 Broadway (West 38th Street) in New York City. It operated from 1893 to 1930. In 1906, the theatre introduced the first moving electrical sign on Broadway to advertise its productions.
