Heikant, Someren

De Hoef is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Someren, about 1 km west of the town of Someren.De Hoef is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Someren. It has no place name signs, and consists of 35 houses.

Someren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsoːmərə(n)] ) is a municipality and town in the province of North Brabant in the Southern Netherlands. As of January 2019, the municipality had 19,322 inhabitants, with over half of the population residing in the town. Someren, just south of Helmond and to the north of Weert, Limburg, is located on the provincial border with Limburg. The spoken dialect is Peellands (an East Brabantian dialect, which is very similar to colloquial Dutch). In Brabantian, Someren is known as Zummere.

Lierop is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Someren, about 7 km south of Helmond.

15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnɪkɔːl vɑn dən ˈɦʏr(ə)k]) disappeared on her way to work on 6 October 1995, in Eindhoven, (the Dutch province of North Brabant). Her body was later found in the woods between the towns of Mierlo and Lierop on November 22, 1995.In 2011, van den Hurk's stepbrother confessed to the killing, but due to a lack of evidence, was released a month later. He would go on to state he had falsely confessed to get her body exhumed for DNA tests.DNA collected from Nicole's remains and from the crime scene led to the arrest of a man in January 2014, who is referred to only as Jos de G. (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈjɔz də ˈɣeː]) in media reports due to a commonly accepted privacy code from the Dutch media. Jos de G. was already convicted in other cases with the same modus operandi. The serial rapist was originally charged with rape and manslaughter, and was found guilty of rape in November 2016 and sentenced to five years' imprisonment. He was initially acquitted of the manslaughter charge, but after the prosecution appealed the acquittal, De G. was convicted of both rape and manslaughter and his sentence was increased to twelve years.

Someren-Eind is a small town, located in the southeast of North Brabant, Netherlands. It is a part of the gemeente Someren, counting 3510 residents by 2007. Someren-Eind is located near the Zuid-Willemsvaart, a canal that connects 's-Hertogenbosch and Maastricht. Someren-Eind is also known under the name D'end.

Royal Eijsbouts (Dutch: Koninklijke Eijsbouts) is a bell foundry located in Asten, Netherlands.

Asten (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑstə(n)] ) is a municipality and a town in the southern Netherlands. It is home to the Royal Eijsbouts bell foundry and also a carillon museum. The spoken language is Peellands, an East Brabantian dialect.

The Strabrechtse Heide is a natural heathland area about 1500 ha in size, located in the municipalities of Heeze-Leende, Someren and Geldrop-Mierlo, in North Brabant, the Netherlands. It is largely under the care of Staatsbosbeheer. In July 2010, around 200 hectares of the area were damaged or destroyed in a wildfire that took over a week to put out.

Sterksel is a village in the southern Netherlands, near Eindhoven. It lies within the municipality Heeze-Leende. It's the smallest village of three in the municipality. The spoken language is "Heeze-en-Leendes", a distinct dialect within the East Brabantian dialect group, quite similar to colloquial Dutch.

Heusden also known as Asten-Heusden (or Heuze among locals) is a small village in North Brabant in the Netherlands. It is in the so-called Peel region. It was first mentioned in 1794 as Heusden. The etymology is unclear.Heusden has a small village square with a few bars, a church, a grocery store, and a youth center. The village is only a couple kilometres from Asten which is much larger and the centre of activity for most residents of Heusden. Heusden also has the romantic remains of an old castle that dates from the fifteenth century. Attached to the ruins, a seventeenth-century v-shape farmstead is still in place.

Mierlo is a town in the southern Netherlands, in the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo, North Brabant. Until 2004, it was a separate municipality with an area of 18.09 km2 (7 sq mi). Mierlo is home to a few interesting buildings, for example the old Council house and the windmill in the centre of the village. Sports clubs in Mierlo are Mifano and the Hockey Club. Mierlo also has a zoo (Dierenrijk), and 2 hotels (HIP and 't Anker) and two campsites ('t Wolfsven and De Sprink). Just to the south, separated by the A67 motorway, lies the Strabrechtse Heide. Mierlo is situated in the urban area of Eindhoven and Helmond. But it has many green areas. It lies on the edge of forests, moorlands and fields. The spoken language is Peellands (an East Brabantian dialect, which is very similar to colloquial Dutch).

Helmond Brouwhuis is a railway station in Brouwhuis, a housing area of Helmond, Netherlands. The station opened in 1987 and is on the Venlo–Eindhoven railway. The station has 2 platforms. Train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
