Heeze-Leende (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɦeːzə ˈleːndə] (listen)) is a municipality in the southern Netherlands, near Eindhoven. It is known for Heeze Castle (Kasteel Heeze). The spoken language is "Heeze-en-Leendes", a distinct dialect within the East Brabantian dialect group and is very similar to colloquial Dutch.

Hostellerie du Château is a defunct restaurant in Heeze, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1980 and retained that rating until 1990.Frans Gerrits was head chef in the time the restaurant had its Michelin star. Hans Huisman took over, but could not retain the Michelin star.Hostellerie du Château is succeeded by Hostellerie Vangaelen.

Mierlo is a town in the southern Netherlands, in the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo, North Brabant. Until 2004, it was a separate municipality with an area of 18.09 km2 (7 sq mi). Mierlo is home to a few interesting buildings, for example the old Council house and the windmill in the centre of the village. Sports clubs in Mierlo are Mifano and the Hockey Club. Mierlo also has a zoo (Dierenrijk), and 2 hotels (HIP and 't Anker) and two campsites ('t Wolfsven and De Sprink). Just to the south, separated by the A67 motorway, lies the Strabrechtse Heide. Mierlo is situated in the urban area of Eindhoven and Helmond. But it has many green areas. It lies on the edge of forests, moorlands and fields. The spoken language is Peellands (an East Brabantian dialect, which is very similar to colloquial Dutch).

Tribeca is a restaurant in Heeze, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded two Michelin stars for 2017.Head chef of the restaurant is Jan Sobecki.The restaurant is housed in a building founded in 1916. Before Sobecki moved in, the building housed the restaurant Boreas, ran by head chef Nico Boreas. Sobecki, who used to work at the two starred Chapeau! that closed on 1 August 2016, could take over the restaurant smoothly. The restaurant was opened on 15 August 2016.

It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin stars from the period 2002–2009 and two Michelin stars from the period 2010–2016. GaultMillau awarded them 19.0 points (out of 20) in 2011.Boreas was run by head chef Nico Boreas and his wife and maître Sonja Boreas.The restaurant was member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.On 25 April 2016 it was announced that the restaurant would close on 23 July 2016. The owners wanted to do something else and an interesting party appeared to take over the restaurant. New owner is Jan Sobecki, the two-starred chef of the closed down restaurant Chapeau!, who started the new restaurant Tribeca in mid August. In the spring of 2018, Nico and Sonja Boreas opened a new restaurant in Roermond, called Sabero. A place of the same name in Spain, but also an anagram of their previous restaurant Boreas. This eatery was also immediately awarded two Michelin stars.

Heeze is a railway station in Heeze, Netherlands. The station opened on 1 May 1977 and is on the Eindhoven–Weert railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The first station was 1 km away from its current location and was called Heeze-Leende. This station opened on 1 November 1913 and closed on 1 May 1977, although was closed for 2 months in 1945.

15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnɪkɔːl vɑn dən ˈɦʏr(ə)k]) disappeared on her way to work on 6 October 1995, in Eindhoven, (the Dutch province of North Brabant). Her body was later found in the woods between the towns of Mierlo and Lierop on November 22, 1995.In 2011, van den Hurk's stepbrother confessed to the killing, but due to a lack of evidence, was released a month later. He would go on to state he had falsely confessed to get her body exhumed for DNA tests.DNA collected from Nicole's remains and from the crime scene led to the arrest of a man in January 2014, who is referred to only as Jos de G. (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈjɔz də ˈɣeː]) in media reports due to a commonly accepted privacy code from the Dutch media. Jos de G. was already convicted in other cases with the same modus operandi. The serial rapist was originally charged with rape and manslaughter, and was found guilty of rape in November 2016 and sentenced to five years' imprisonment. He was initially acquitted of the manslaughter charge, but after the prosecution appealed the acquittal, De G. was convicted of both rape and manslaughter and his sentence was increased to twelve years.
