Taplow railway station

Taplow Lake is a 30-acre (120,000 m2) lake just south of the A4 between Maidenhead and Slough in Amerden Lane, Buckinghamshire. Recreational activities on the lake include swimming, wakeboarding and waterskiing. A café is also located here serving breakfast and lunch.

Taplow is a village and civil parish in the Unitary Authority of Buckinghamshire, England. It sits on the left bank of the River Thames, facing Maidenhead in the neighbouring county of Berkshire, with Cippenham and Burnham to the east. It is the south-westernmost settlement in Buckinghamshire. The village features a Grade II listed mock-medieval church, the parish church of St Nicholas, as well as a school of the same name. Taplow railway station, on the Great Western Main Line, serves the village, with services to London Paddington, Reading and Oxford. There are two conservation areas in the parish, the Taplow Village Conservation Area and the Taplow Riverside Conservation Area. Footpaths connect all parts of the parish to Maidenhead Bridge and to Burnham Beeches, a modest, hilly wood marking the start of the Chiltern Hills.

All Nations Bible College was a missionary college in London, founded in 1892. By 1923 it was headed by F. B. Meyer, who also presided over the All Nations Missionary Union. The college trained single men and married couples. In 1962, the college changed its name to All Nations Missionary College. In 1964, it moved from Taplow, in Buckinghamshire, to Easneye Mansion near Ware. In 1971, the college merged with two other missionary schools to become All Nations Christian College. The current school can accommodate 100 students in their Easneye Mansion complex, which coincidentally is dissected by the prime meridian line.

Hitcham War Memorial is located outside St Mary's Church, Hitcham Lane, Hitcham, Buckinghamshire, England. It is a grade II listed building with Historic England and commemorates men who died in the First and Second World Wars.

Hitcham was a village in Buckinghamshire, England. Today it is indistinguishable from the extended village of Burnham and is no longer marked on Ordnance Survey 1:50000 maps as a separate settlement. It is to the west of Burnham, close to the village of Taplow, and adjacent to the common on which Burnham Beeches stands. The village name 'Hitcham' is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'Hycga's homestead'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was recorded as Hucheham. In 1931 the parish had a population of 886. The civil parish of Hitcham was abolished on 1 April 1934 under a County Review Order, with the urban part going to Burnham parish, a larger but less populous part going to Taplow, and a tiny sliver going to Dorney. The road Hitcham Lane still exists, and features Hitcham House, a large Manor House, now subdivided into several private residential properties.

Taplow Court is a Victorian house in the village of Taplow in Buckinghamshire, England. Its origins are an Elizabethan manor house, remodelled in the early 17th century. In the 18th century the court was owned by the Earls of Orkney. In the 1850s, the court was sold to Charles Pascoe Grenfell, whose descendants retained ownership until after the Second World War. The court then served as a corporate headquarters for British Telecommunications Research (BTR) an independent research company set up in 1946. BTR was subsequently acquired by Plessey Electronics. In 1988 it was bought by the Buddhist foundation, Soka Gakkai International and serves as their UK headquarters. The court is a Grade II listed building, and its present appearance is due to a major rebuilding undertaken by William Burn for Charles Grenfell in 1855-1860. In the early 20th century, the court was home to William Grenfell and his wife Ettie. She was a noted Edwardian hostess, and Taplow Court became a gathering place for The Souls, a group of aristocratic intellectuals.

South Lodge Pit is a 0.5-hectare (1.2-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Taplow in Buckinghamshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This former chalk quarry dates to the late Cretaceous, around 83 million year ago. It is the only British example of a chalk phosphorite deposit, comparable to deposits in the Paris Basin. In the late Cretaceous sea levels were much higher and covered much of England, including Buckinghamshire. Marine fossils are found in several horizons, including annelids, oysters and bivalves.The site is on private land with no public access.

Pigeonhill Eyot is an island in the River Thames in England just above Bray Lock, near Bray, Berkshire. It sits between the lock and Headpile Eyot and lock weirs run from the island to the Bray bank. The island is small and tree-covered and Bronze Age artifacts have been found here.

The M4 Thames Bridge Maidenhead is a motorway bridge between Dorney Reach, Buckinghamshire and Bray near Maidenhead, Berkshire in England built in the 1960s. The bridge carries the M4 Motorway across the River Thames, on the reach above Boveney Lock, and about 500 yards short of Bray Lock. It is one of three bridges carrying motorway traffic across the Thames, the others being the M25 Runnymede Bridge (just below Bell Weir Lock) and the M3 Chertsey Bridge. There is also a pedestrian walkway on either side of the bridge, which allows people to access Bray Village from the Dorney side of the Thames.

Bray Lock is a lock and weir on the River Thames in England near Bray and Dorney Reach, and is just above the M4 Bridge across the Thames. The lock is on the Buckinghamshire side of the river on the opposite bank from Bray itself and Maidenhead which are in Berkshire. Here, the county line stands roughly halfway between the lock and the opposite bank, following the course of the Thames itself. The pound lock was built by the Thames Navigation Commission relatively late, in 1845. The lock keeper's cottage is on an island (Parting Eyot) between the lock and the weir. The weir is almost level with the lock and runs straight across to the opposite bank from the other side of the lock island.

Claires Court School Boat Club is a rowing club based on the River Thames in Maidenhead.

Maidenhead Rowing Club is a rowing club, on the River Thames in England at Maidenhead, Berkshire. The clubhouse is on the reach above Bray Lock on the Maidenhead bank of the Thames between Maidenhead Railway Bridge and Maidenhead Bridge. The club regularly races at local and national events with considerable success. The club's colours are Brunswick green and white, and its symbol is a five-pointed star. There is also a coat of arms used on the club's blazer badges, which features a shield with a five-pointed star on one half, and a 'Maiden's head' on the other half, with a pair of crossed oars and arm above it, and the words 'Manu Forti' ("strong arm") below it.
