Quail Hollow is a neighborhood in south Charlotte roughly located in between Park Road and Carmel Road, south of Dilworth and north of Ballantyne and Pineville. The neighborhood is largely residential. It is adjacent to Quail Hollow Club, which is home of the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Tournament. Growth and land value in this area has been on the rise due to its location near Interstate 77 and 485, and proximity to SouthPark, Pineville and Ballantyne.

The PGA Championship (often referred to as the US PGA Championship or USPGA outside the United States) is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The PGA is one of the four men's major golf championships, the others being The Open, the Masters and the U.S. Open. It was formerly played in mid-August on the third weekend before Labor Day weekend, serving as the fourth and final men's major of the golf season. Beginning in 2019, the tournament is played in May on the weekend before Memorial Day, as the season's second major following the Masters Tournament in April. It is an official money event on the PGA Tour, European Tour, and Japan Golf Tour, with a purse of $11 million for the 100th edition in 2018. In line with the other majors, winning the PGA gains privileges that improve career security. PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship) and The Players Championship for the next five years, and are eligible for the PGA Championship for life. They receive membership on the PGA Tour and the European Tour for the following five seasons. The PGA Championship is the only one of the four majors that is exclusively for professional players. The PGA Championship has been held at various venues. Some of the early sites are now quite obscure, but in recent years, the event has generally been played at a small group of celebrated courses.

The 2025 PGA Championship was the 107th edition of the PGA Championship and the second of the men's four major golf championships held in 2025. The tournament was held on May 15–18 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Scottie Scheffler won his first PGA Championship and third major by five strokes over Bryson DeChambeau, Harris English and Davis Riley.

The 2017 PGA Championship was the 99th PGA Championship, held August 10–13 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was the first major at Quail Hollow, which is a regular stop on the PGA Tour. Early in the week of the tournament, it was announced that the championship will be held in May beginning in 2019.Justin Thomas, the son of a PGA professional, won his first career major title, two strokes ahead of runners-up Francesco Molinari, Louis Oosthuizen, and Patrick Reed.

Quail Hollow Club is a country club and golf course in the southeastern United States, located in the Quail Hollow neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a private member club, founded by James J. Harris on April 13, 1959. The club hosted the Kemper Open on the PGA Tour from 1969 through 1979, and the senior tour's PaineWebber Invitational from 1983 through 1989. The PGA Tour returned to Quail Hollow in 2003 with the Wachovia Championship, now the Wells Fargo Championship, which has been held every year since except 2020 when it was cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Additionally the club hosted the 2017 PGA Championship and that year the Wells Fargo was held at Eagle Point in Wilmington, North Carolina. The club is also scheduled to host the PGA Championship for a second time in 2025Quail Hollow was designed by golf course architect George Cobb who designed several golf courses, primarily in the southeastern United States. Opened in 1961, it underwent a series of improvements, including modifications of several holes by Arnold Palmer in 1986, and a redesign by Tom Fazio in 1997, 2003, and from 2014 to 2016 in preparation for the PGA Championship. South of central Charlotte, the average elevation of the course is approximately 600 feet (185 m) above sea level. The course is part of an extensive housing development. Quail Hollow is scheduled to host the fourteenth edition of the Presidents Cup in 2022, after being postponed from its original date of 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. For the event, the courses will be rerouted. The hole arrangement changes starting at the 8th hole. After the 8th hole, players will skip the 9th to 11th holes, and will then play the 12th hole, and continue. After the 18th hole, players will play holes 9-11. The realignment of the course was designed for match play to assure most matches will reach the 16th to 18th holes at the course, with the only possible ways to avoid the signature "Green Mile" is to win 7&6 or better.

Atrium Health Pineville (Formerly Mercy Hospital South, later Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville) is a 235 bed acute care facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The hospital was opened in 1987 by the Sisters of Mercy to serve the rapidly growing southern part of Mecklenburg County. in 1995, the Sisters of Mercy sold the hospital to Carolinas HealthCare System, now Atrium Health. Atrium Health Pineville is a facility of Atrium Health, one of the nation's largest publicly owned, not-for-profit hospital operators.

I-485/South Boulevard is a light rail station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The elevated island platform is the southern terminus stop along the Lynx Blue Line and includes the second largest park and ride operated by Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). Serving both Carolina Pavilion and Sterling neighborhood in the immediate area, it also serves commuters from Pineville, Ballantyne, and the South Carolina border towns.

Charlotte Catholic is a diocesan high school in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States founded in 1955. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte. Charlotte Catholic has a student to teacher ratio of 15:4.

Sharon Road West is a light rail station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The at-grade island platform is a stop along the Lynx Blue Line and serves the industrial area of Montclaire South, including the Snyder's-Lance factory. It also features a 188-space park and ride and local bus connections.

Charlotte Speedway was a wooden board track in Pineville, North Carolina, near Charlotte. It operated from 1924 to 1927, hosting AAA national championship trail races.

Huntingtowne Farms Park is a 23-acre urban park at 2200 Huntingtowne Farms Lane lying between the Huntingtowne Farms and Starmount Forest neighborhoods of Charlotte, North Carolina. A bridge across Sugar Creek connects the park to the Starmount Forest neighborhood.A section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs through the park and serves to connect its features which include a picnic shelter, a playground, a basketball court, a multi-purpose sports field, and 2 tennis courts. A top priority of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation trail development plan is to connect this currently independent section to the rest of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

Red de Radiodifusión Bíblica is a religious, Spanish-language radio network operated by the Charlotte, North Carolina based Bible Broadcasting Network. The programming of this network is primarily directed toward people living in Latin-American countries, although some U.S. radio stations in states bordering Mexico also broadcast the network.
