2017 PGA Championship

Quail Hollow Club is a country club and golf course in the southeastern United States, located in the Quail Hollow neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a private member club, founded by James J. Harris on April 13, 1959. The club hosted the Kemper Open on the PGA Tour from 1969 through 1979, and the senior tour's PaineWebber Invitational from 1983 through 1989. The PGA Tour returned to Quail Hollow in 2003 with the Wachovia Championship, now the Wells Fargo Championship, which has been held every year since except 2020 when it was cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Additionally the club hosted the 2017 PGA Championship and that year the Wells Fargo was held at Eagle Point in Wilmington, North Carolina. The club is also scheduled to host the PGA Championship for a second time in 2025Quail Hollow was designed by golf course architect George Cobb who designed several golf courses, primarily in the southeastern United States. Opened in 1961, it underwent a series of improvements, including modifications of several holes by Arnold Palmer in 1986, and a redesign by Tom Fazio in 1997, 2003, and from 2014 to 2016 in preparation for the PGA Championship. South of central Charlotte, the average elevation of the course is approximately 600 feet (185 m) above sea level. The course is part of an extensive housing development. Quail Hollow is scheduled to host the fourteenth edition of the Presidents Cup in 2022, after being postponed from its original date of 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. For the event, the courses will be rerouted. The hole arrangement changes starting at the 8th hole. After the 8th hole, players will skip the 9th to 11th holes, and will then play the 12th hole, and continue. After the 18th hole, players will play holes 9-11. The realignment of the course was designed for match play to assure most matches will reach the 16th to 18th holes at the course, with the only possible ways to avoid the signature "Green Mile" is to win 7&6 or better.

Quail Hollow is a neighborhood in south Charlotte roughly located in between Park Road and Carmel Road, south of Dilworth and north of Ballantyne and Pineville. The neighborhood is largely residential. It is adjacent to Quail Hollow Club, which is home of the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Tournament. Growth and land value in this area has been on the rise due to its location near Interstate 77 and 485, and proximity to SouthPark, Pineville and Ballantyne.

Huntingtowne Farms Park is a 23-acre urban park at 2200 Huntingtowne Farms Lane lying between the Huntingtowne Farms and Starmount Forest neighborhoods of Charlotte, North Carolina. A bridge across Sugar Creek connects the park to the Starmount Forest neighborhood.A section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs through the park and serves to connect its features which include a picnic shelter, a playground, a basketball court, a multi-purpose sports field, and 2 tennis courts. A top priority of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation trail development plan is to connect this currently independent section to the rest of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

Park Road Park is a 122-acre urban park at 6220 Park Road in the Closeburn-Glenkirk neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. Park Road Park features 8 basketball courts, 2 horseshoe pits, 6 baseball fields, 5 Picnic Shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, trails, tennis courts, and an eleven-acre lake. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department operates 36 tennis facilities and the 12 lighted tennis courts at Park Road Park are among the best in Charlotte.The Queens University of Charlotte softball team holds all of their home games at the park. An annual children's Fall Fun Fest presented by the Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center is held each year in Park Road Park. There is a recycling drop off center at 5300 Closeburn Road inside the park.

SouthPark is an area edge city in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Its name is derived from the upscale SouthPark Mall, which opened on February 12, 1970. At nearly 1.8 million square feet, SouthPark Mall is the largest shopping mall in Charlotte and all of North Carolina. The area is geographically centered at the intersection of Fairview Road and Sharon Road in the south central sector of the city, about six miles south of Uptown Charlotte. In addition to being home to the mall, SouthPark is also a residential area and one of the larger business districts in Charlotte. SouthPark is typical of the mixed-use developments found in many larger cities.

New City Church is a multi-site church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The church is a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America denomination. New City has two campuses, one in the SouthPark area of Charlotte and one on Monroe Road in the nearby suburb of Matthews. Weekend services are held on Sunday mornings at both locations. The church's purpose statement is “to be a community of Christ followers bringing gospel renewal to our city and world.” Weekend services on both campuses average about 3,000 attendees.

SouthPark is an upscale shopping mall in the affluent SouthPark neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. The mall is located approximately five miles (8 km) south of Uptown Charlotte, at the corner of Sharon and Fairview Roads. With 1,678,376 square feet (160,000 m2), It is one of the most profitable malls in the country with sales at over $700 per square foot. It is the 10th largest on the East Coast and is the 28th largest in the United States. SouthPark is the most congested shopping area in the United States during Black Friday weekend.SouthPark mall has restaurants such as Maggiano's Little Italy, The Cheesecake Factory, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks, Reid's Fine Foods & Wine Bar, Gusto Farm to Street, Cowfish Sushi. Burger. Bar and Arthur's. SouthPark Mall is also the home of the SouthPark Community Transit Center, which opened in 2004, which serves the CATS bus lines 19, 29, 30, and 57. The Transit Center is located between Belk and Dillard's.

SouthPark Church formerly known as Sharon United Methodist Church, is a Christian Church in the Methodist Denomination located in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The church was famous for its "ski slope" arch in the front part of the Church on its previous building. Now, SouthPark Church is famous for its bold plan to redevelop its property into a mixed-used development by bringing in partners Childress Klein. The new Church will sit in the middle of the property surrounded by local business. SouthPark Church currently meets at Regal Phillips Place on Sunday mornings, with two services: a traditional service at 9:00 AM and a modern service at 10:30 AM.

Atrium Health Pineville (Formerly Mercy Hospital South, later Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville) is a 235 bed acute care facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The hospital was opened in 1987 by the Sisters of Mercy to serve the rapidly growing southern part of Mecklenburg County. in 1995, the Sisters of Mercy sold the hospital to Carolinas HealthCare System, now Atrium Health. Atrium Health Pineville is a facility of Atrium Health, one of the nation's largest publicly owned, not-for-profit hospital operators.
