The Royal Museum (Malay: Muzium Diraja) along Jalan Istana was the former National Palace (Malay: Istana Negara) and former residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme King) of Malaysia. It stands on a 13-acre (50,000 m2) site, located on a commanding position on the slope of a hill of Bukit Petaling overlooking the Klang River, along Jalan Syed Putra. It was replaced by the new national palace as the official residence of the king in 2011. In 2013, it was converted into The Royal Museum and referred as Old Istana Negara.

The Malayan Union was a union of the Malay states and the Straits Settlements of Penang and Malacca. The 2003 Merapoh bus tragedy took place on 23 November 2003 when an Ekspres Mutiara (Pearl Express) bus collided with another bus at kilometre 63 of Lipis-Merapoh Road (Federal Route ) near the Pahang-Kelantan border, Malaysia. 14 passengers were killed in this accident. Among those killed were a two-year-old girl, eight women and five men.

Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station (KL Sentral) is a transit-oriented development that houses the main railway station of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Opened on 16 April 2001, KL Sentral replaced the old Kuala Lumpur railway station as the city's main intercity railway station. KL Sentral is the largest railway station in Malaysia.KL Sentral is designed as an intermodal transport hub. All of Kuala Lumpur's passenger rail lines serve KL Sentral except the Ampang, Sri Petaling and Putrajaya Lines. Many intercity trains serving Peninsular Malaysia start here. All the railway components of the scheme have been completed with the NU Sentral shopping mall located here. It was also designed to be a new business and financial hub for Kuala Lumpur.

The Muzium Negara station is an underground mass rapid transit (MRT) station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the Kajang Line. It is located beneath Jalan Damansara in front of the Muzium Negara (Malay; English: National Museum), which gave the station its name. Although located near Kuala Lumpur Sentral, it is not part of the complex. It is however linked via a 240-metre covered pedestrian walkway to KL Sentral. For this reason, the working name given to the station at the planning stage, which was "KL Sentral station" was not adopted.

The museum houses four main galleries allotted to ethnology and natural history. The displays range from free-standing tableaux showing cultural events like weddings, festivals and costumes; to traditional weapons, musical instruments, arts and crafts, ceramics, and flora and fauna.
