Shivalik Enclave

Manimajra State was a Sikh kingdom and later jagir (estate) based in the Manimajra area from 1764 to 1875. The area is in the present-day region of Chandigarh. The state had poor relations with Patiala and Nahan states, often warring with them.

Manimajra Fort, is a fort situated in Mani Majra, Chandigarh (city of Indian Union). It is over 360 years old and has become more popular with the shooting of the Oscar-winning movie Zero Dark Thirty. It was built by Gharib Dass Dhillon of Dhillon clan as the capital of his newly created state of 84 villages.

Mani Majra, also spelled as Manimajra now renamed as Sector 13, is a historical town in Chandigarh in India. It is a Puadhi Dialect area which was established by the Gharib Dass Dhillon as the capital of the newly created princely state of Dhillon clan.The notifications regarding the renaming of this town were issued by the Punjab Governor and Chief Administrator of Chandigarh, VP Singh Badnore under the Punjab Reorganization Order 1966 under the Sub-section (2) of Sector-1 of the Capital of Punjab (Development and Regulations) Act 1952.It is mainly a residential hub having various societies such as Mari Wala Town (M.W.T.), Pipliwala Town (P.W.T.), Shanti Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Kishangarh, Bhagwanpura, New Indira Colony, Old Indira Colony, Dharshani Bhag, Samadhi Gate, Mohalla Jattan Wala, Mohalla Main Bazar, Govindpura, Mori gate, Nagla Mohalla, Shivalik Enclave, Modern Housing Complex (M.H.C.), Duplex, Rajeev Vihar and Uppal's Marble Arch, Railway Colony, Mouli Jagra, Mouli Pind, Vikas Nagar, Daria, Railway Station, and Asia's no. 1 Motor Market is Situated in Manimajra. Two multiplexes, Fun Republic and DT mall are also situated nearby for shopping and Cinema. Sports complex, GOVT Dispensary, Shivalik Park, RIMT World School, DC Montessori school, Gurukul Global School, Lohia International School, and 4 GOVT schools are also available in Manimajra. The Rajiv Gandhi IT Park of Chandigarh is also planned in Manimajra. Various corporations — such as, Airtel, Infosys, Tech Mahindra — have built their campuses here. A 5-star hotel 'The Lalit' is also there at IT Park Industrial Area with a petrol pump before the hotel. The town also is home to an old fort that is undergoing restoration as a part of an Archeological Survey of India's restoration project. Parts of the Hollywood film Zero Dark Thirty were shot in Mani Majra.

Sri Khooni Sahib is a gurudwara in Manimajra, a small town in Chandigarh, India. The gurdwara is located about one kilometer from the famous Mata Mansa Devi Temple, a Hindu temple. It is located in Manimajra village Bhansa Tibba.

The National Cactus and Succulent Botanical Garden and Research Centre, known as the Cactus Garden, is a 7 acres (2.8 ha) cactus garden in Sector 5 of Panchkula, Haryana, India , was established in 1987, and is known for its rare and endangered species of Indian succulent plants.

Panchkula Assembly constituency is one of the 90 assembly seats of Haryana in the Panchkula district of Haryana, India. It is under Ambala (Lok Sabha constituency). It forms a part of a continuous area with the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the city of Mohali.

Panchkula district was formed as the 17th district of the Indian state of Haryana on 15 August 1995. It comprises two sub divisions and two tehsils: Panchkula and Kalka. It has 264 villages out of which twelve are un-inhabited and ten wholly merged with towns or treated as census towns according to the 1991 census. There are five towns in the district: Barwala, Kalka, Panchkula, Pinjore and Raipur Rani. The total population of the district is 319,398 out of which 173,557 are males and 145,841 are females. As of the 2011 Census of India, it was the least populous district of Haryana.Panchkula city is the headquarters of this district. Chandimandir Cantonment is located in this district, adjoining the Panchkula Urban Estate.

The Garden of Silence is a meditative space at the end of Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, India. It features a seated Buddha. The garden is financed by the Ministry of Tourism and developed by the Chandigarh administration.

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally, the seasonal flow entered the lake directly causing heavy siltation. To check the inflow of silt, 25.42 km² of land was acquired in the catchment area and put under vegetation. In 1974, the Choe was diverted and made to bypass the lake completely, the lake being fed by three siltation pots, minimizing the silt into the lake itself.
