Mani Majra

Manimajra Fort, is a fort situated in Mani Majra, Chandigarh (city of Indian Union). It is over 360 years old and has become more popular with the shooting of the Oscar-winning movie Zero Dark Thirty. It was built by Gharib Dass Dhillon of Dhillon clan as the capital of his newly created state of 84 villages.

Manimajra State was a Sikh kingdom and later jagir (estate) based in the Manimajra area from 1764 to 1875. The area is in the present-day region of Chandigarh. The state had poor relations with Patiala and Nahan states, often warring with them.

Shivalik Enclave is situated between old ManiMajra (also called as Manimajra town) of Sector 13, Chandigarh and Panchkula. It is Located on The Kalka-Shimla Road Next to Housing Board Light Point. Sri Khooni Sahib is a gurudwara in Manimajra, a small town in Chandigarh, India. The gurdwara is located about one kilometer from the famous Mata Mansa Devi Temple, a Hindu temple. It is located in Manimajra village Bhansa Tibba.

Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) (established 8 March 1967), formerly Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC), headquartered at Panchkula, is a 100% state-owned agency of the government of Haryana in the Indian state of Haryana. For ease of doing business, Haryana is the first state in India to introduce a labour policy in 2005 and Land Pooling Policy in 2017, for which HSIIDC acts as the nodal agency. Haryana Financial Corporation provides financial assistance for setting up new industrial units and for the expansion and diversification of the existing industries. Various universities, educational and training institutes, including the nation's first skills university Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, provide the human resources to capitalise on the infrastructure created by the HSIIDC. Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally, the seasonal flow entered the lake directly causing heavy siltation. To check the inflow of silt, 25.42 km² of land was acquired in the catchment area and put under vegetation. In 1974, the Choe was diverted and made to bypass the lake completely, the lake being fed by three siltation pots, minimizing the silt into the lake itself.

The National Cactus and Succulent Botanical Garden and Research Centre, known as the Cactus Garden, is a 7 acres (2.8 ha) cactus garden in Sector 5 of Panchkula, Haryana, India , was established in 1987, and is known for its rare and endangered species of Indian succulent plants.

Chandigarh Golf Club is a Non Profit Charitable Registered golf club in Chandigarh, India. It has a 7,202 yard, 18 hole course known for its challenging narrow fairways, a long 613 yard long, dogleg 7th hole, and floodlighting on the first nine holes. The course was designed by 4-time Open Championship winner, Peter Thomson (golfer). The club has been home to some fine professional golfers, the most noted being Jeev Milkha Singh. The club has a clubhouse, a swimming pool and a gymnasium for its 2,300 members. Membership is notoriously difficult to get, with waiting periods running into tens of years. The club has 1,000 NRI members who paid $3,000 initiation fees and yearly dues, with a total of $300,000 (approx. Rs. 24 Crore), NRI members do not have any voting rights, even though the government of India has allowed dual citizenship to NRI's.
