Yerba Buena, California

Yerba Buena Cove was a cove on San Francisco Bay where the Mexican pueblo of Yerba Buena was located. It lay between Clarks Point to the north (southeast of Telegraph Hill, near the corner of Broadway and Battery Streets) and Rincon Point to the south (near the corner of Harrison and Spear Streets). The beach of the cove was set back as far as what is now Montgomery Street between Clay and Washington Streets. Between the beginning of the California Gold Rush and 1860, the cove was filled in, and the downtown of the city of San Francisco built over it. A number of ships were sunk in the cove, including some that were intentionally scuttled to allow the owners to claim the land around the sunken ship. Wrecks known to remain buried include the Apollo, the Niantic, and the Rome, the latter of which was discovered in 1994 during construction of the Muni Metro Turnback Tunnel.

Embarcadero station is a combined BART and Muni Metro rapid transit subway station in the Market Street subway in downtown San Francisco. Located under Market Street between Drumm Street and Beale Street near The Embarcadero, it serves the Financial District neighborhood and surrounding areas. The three-level station has a large fare mezzanine level, with separate platform levels for Muni Metro and BART below. Embarcadero station opened in May 1976 – almost two years after service began through the Transbay Tube – as an infill station. Embarcadero and nearby Montgomery Street stations are typically the two busiest in the BART system. The station is served by the BART Red, Yellow, Green Line, and Blue lines, and the Muni Metro J Church, K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Ocean View, N Judah, and S Shuttle lines. A major Bay Area transit hub, Embarcadero is also served by numerous bus routes of several other agencies which stop above the station and on surrounding streets.

The Pacific Gas and Electric Company General Office Building and Annex is a historic office building located at 245 Market St. in San Francisco, California. The building was constructed in 1923–25 to serve as the Pacific Gas and Electric Company headquarters. Architects Bakewell & Brown designed the Beaux-Arts building. The seventeen-story building features an arcaded lower section on the first two stories, a plain vertical shaft, and multiple setbacks at the top four stories. The entire exterior is clad in terra cotta, which is also used to decorate the lower and upper sections. The building's design complements the neighboring Matson Building.Pacific Gas and Electric began a major expansion period shortly after constructing their headquarters, and they absorbed several other power companies in northern and central California. While business declined during the Great Depression, the company rebounded during World War II, and then needed more space in its headquarters. In 1945 the company built an annex to the building; the annex, which is interconnected with the original building, was designed to match the original building's architecture.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 1995.

Completed in 1971, the 34 story building was the headquarters for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, the main utility provider for Northern California and parts of Southern California, and has been host to a nesting pair of peregrine falcons since 1987.

333 Market Street is a class-A office skyscraper on Market Street between Fremont and Beale in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. The 144 m (472 ft), 33-story tower was designed by Gin Wong Associates, and completed in 1979.

50 Beale Street is a 328 ft (100 m), 23-floor high-rise office building in the Financial District, San Francisco between Market Street and Mission Street. It is on the list of tallest buildings in San Francisco. Completed in 1967, the building served as the world headquarters for Bechtel before the company moved to Reston, Virginia. The building has also served as headquarters for Blue Shield of California between 1996 and 2018. In 2006, Blue Shield renewed its lease and acquired naming rights to the building. The building has formerly been known as the Bechtel Building and subsequently the Blue Shield of California Building.Broadway Partners acquired the building in 2007. A joint venture of The Rockefeller Group and Mitsubishi Estate New York acquired the building in September 2012. The building was sold to Paramount Group, Inc. for approximately US$395 million in September 2014.
