Gmina Skawina

Skawina [skaˈvʲina] is a town in southern Poland with 27,328 inhabitants (2008). Situated in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Kraków Voivodeship (1975–1998). The town is located on the Skawinka river, in close proximity to the city of Kraków. Its population (as for December 31, 2010) was 23,761, and the area of the town is 20,50 km2. One of the most interesting historic buildings in Skawina is a Renaissance palace, built in the mid-16th century by Paweł Korytko. The name of the town probably comes from the Skawinka river.

Tyniec is a historic village in Poland on the Vistula river, since 1973 a part of the city of Kraków (currently in the district of Dębniki). Tyniec is notable for its Benedictine abbey founded by King Casimir the Restorer in 1044.

Bielany-Tyniec Landscape Park (Bielańsko-Tyniecki Park Krajobrazowy) is a protected area (Landscape Park) in southern Poland, established in 1981, covering an area of 65.02 square kilometres (25.10 sq mi).

Buków [ˈbukuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mogilany, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Mogilany and 14 km (9 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków.

Chorowice [xɔrɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mogilany, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 12 km (7 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków.

The Skawinka is a river in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship of Poland, and a right tributary of the Vistula River. The Skawinka is 34 kilometres (21 mi) long and has a drainage basin of 365 square kilometres (141 sq mi). Its average discharge is 2.90 cubic metres per second (102 cu ft/s) (9.6 kilometres (6.0 mi) from the mouth).Its sources are located on the slopes of Babica in the Maków Beskids. The river flows through the Wieliczka Foothills and the valley of the Vistula.The main tributaries counting from the mouth: Rzepnik (right); Mogiłka (left); Włosianka, Łutówka, Głogoczówka, Harbutówka (right). The most important places along Skawinka: Skawinki, Lanckorona, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Leńcze, Wola Radziszowska, Radziszów, Rzozów, Skawina. The river lends its name to the village Skawinki located at its source and to the town of Skawina, which is the last town before its mouth. Sometimes it is called "Cedron" by the residents of the neighboring villages, especially around Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. In the late middle ages it used to be a political border between Silesia and Lesser Poland, and also between the Bohemian Crown and the Crown of Poland.

Rzozów [ˈʐɔzuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Skawina, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Skawina and 16 km (10 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków.

Kulerzów [kuˈlɛʐuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mogilany, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Mogilany and 14 km (9 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków.

The Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course is an artificial whitewater course in Poland, on the south bank of the Vistula River, in the suburb of Kolna, 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Kraków. It is fed with river water diverted around a nearby dam. The top 120 metres (394 ft) of the course is a flatwater start pool that is covered in winter by a long white tent. Air inside the tent is heated, but the water is cold. This Olympic-standard slalom course is the site of frequent international competitions. In June 2013, it hosted the European Championships. It is part of a larger complex called the Kolna Sports and Recreation Center (Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji „Kolna") which includes a canal for flatwater sprint canoeing and an indoor gymnasium and swimming pool.

Kopanka [kɔˈpanka] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Skawina, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) west of Skawina and 15 km (9 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków.

Brzyczyna [bʐɨˈt͡ʂɨna] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mogilany, within Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 12 km (7 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków.
