Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, doing business as Forsyth Medical Center, is a 921-bed, not-for-profit, regional medical center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, that offers a full range of medical, surgical, rehabilitative and behavioral health services. Coupled with the nearby 22-bed Novant Health Medical Park Hospital, Forsyth Medical Center gives Winston-Salem one of the largest, best-equipped hospital facilities in the state. Forsyth Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a member of the American Hospital Association. Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and Novant Health Medical Park Hospital perform close to 40,000 surgical procedures each year, including more than 6,500 general surgery procedures, 7,000 orthopaedic and neurological procedures and 700 open-heart surgeries. Forsyth Technical Community College, (Forsyth Tech) is a public community college in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The college is one of the largest in the North Carolina Community College System, with an enrollment of over 11,000 credit students and over 24,000 Corporate and Continuing Education students.The college has twelve locations in Forsyth and Stokes counties and offers many distance learning classes and specialty programs in addition to 67 Associates in Applied Science degrees, 20 college transfer (Associates in Arts and Associates in Science) degrees, 35 diplomas, and 67 certificates.Under the leadership of Dr. Bob H. Greene (May 25, 1936 – July 14, 2011), the community college grew at an unprecedented rate, adding two new facilities and gaining further prestige in the Winston-Salem community.Forsyth Tech was briefly mentioned in President Barack Obama's 2011 State of the Union Address as an example of education reform in low-income and low-opportunity areas. President Obama visited the school to give a speech on October 6, 2010.Early College Of Forsyth and Middle College Of Forsyth are high school programs on the Forsyth Tech campus in which students take community college classes, and earn an associate degree by graduation of high school. The high school's calendar is the same as Forsyth Tech.

The Ardmore Historic District is a 600-acre (240 ha) national historic district located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 2,093 contributing buildings and two contributing sites. The district consists of at least ten platted residential developments from 1910 through 1924 as well as three large apartment complexes from 1947 through 1951, one of which was controversially demolished in 2021. It includes works designed by Hall Crews and by Northup & O'Brien. It includes Queen Anne and Bungalow/craftsman architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Thurmond and Lucy Chatham House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a Classical Revival style stuccoed dwelling consisting of a 2+1⁄2-story main block flanked by two-bay-wide projecting hip-roofed sections. It has a tall hip roof and bluestone terrace that fills the rear courtyard of the H-shaped plan. The house encompasses 9,065-square-feet of living space. Also on the property is a contributing 1+1⁄2-story garage / apartment. It was built for Congressman and businessman Richard Thurmond Chatham (1896–1957), who also served as president of the Chatham Manufacturing Company and his wife, Lucy Hodgin Hanes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Robert M. Hanes House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, Georgian Revival style brick dwelling. It has a side-gable roof with dormers, recessed entrance, and a one-story porch with Tuscan order columns. It is set in a landscape designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman in 1937. Also on the property is a contributing garage (1926–1927), playhouse (c. 1936), and garden house. It was built for Ralph Hanes and his wife, Dewitt Chatham Hanes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

It is affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, the academic medical center whose clinical arm is Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Wake Forest School of Medicine 48th best for research in the nation and 80th best for primary care. The School of Medicine also ranks in the top third of U.S. medical schools in funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The Coy C. Carpenter Library and Dorothy Carpenter Medical Archives, located at Wake Forest School of Medicine, is a library named after the first dean of the university's medical school, Coy Cornelius Carpenter, M.D., and his wife, Dorothy (Mitten) Carpenter.Coy C. Carpenter was dean of the School of Medicine of Wake Forest University from 1936 to 1967 and Vice President for Health Affairs from 1963 to 1967. He guided the school through the transition from a two-year to a four-year program and the move from Wake Forest to Winston-Salem in 1941. He authored The Story of Medicine at Wake Forest University (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 1970).

Marketplace Mall is a one-story and second shopping mall in Winston-Salem on NC 150 (Peters Creek Parkway) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States. Its main anchor stores are Dollar Tree & Hamrick's. The mall opened in 1984. Hamrick's was added in 1995. By 2003, the mall had lost the majority of its tenants, but a renovation begun that same year added several new retailers, including a furniture store called Dynasty. Dynasty closed in 2008 and was replaced by a Steve & Barry's clothing store. This store closed the same year and was replaced by a Veterans Affairs clinic in 2010.

Parkland Magnet High School is a magnet school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that offers an International Baccalaureate program and describes itself as a "Center for the Cultural Arts". Parkland was founded in 1965 as Parkland High School.The school's campus is located on the south side of Winston-Salem, and is easily accessible from Interstate 40, US Highway 52, and Peters Creek Parkway. The campus includes a main building, several multi-classroom pod trailers, a practice football field, competition track, baseball and softball fields. The main building houses the school's administrative offices, cafeteria, two gymnasiums, and auditorium as well as 80 classrooms. The football & lacrosse teams plays their home games at Deaton-Thompson stadium located off West Clemmonsville Road which is located approximately 1.4 miles from the school's campus. The soccer teams play their home games at the W-S/FC Soccer Complex on Bolton street, which is approximately 3.2 miles from Parkland's campus.
