Wake Forest University School of Medicine is the medical school of Wake Forest University, with two campuses located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, the academic medical center whose clinical arm is Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Wake Forest School of Medicine 48th best for research in the nation and 80th best for primary care. The School of Medicine also ranks in the top third of U.S. medical schools in funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Brenner Children's Hospital is the 144-bed is "hospital within a hospital" affiliated with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It provides care to patients from birth to age 21 and is staffed by more than 120 full-time pediatric faculty members representing more than 30 areas of expertise, as well as all pediatric surgical specialties. Brenner Children's Hospital has its own Emergency Department, including the first Level I Pediatric Trauma Care unit in North Carolina.More than 4,500 children are admitted to Brenner Children's Hospital every year and more than 21,000 pediatric subspecialty visits occur at hospital-based outpatient clinics. Brenner Children's Hospital generally treats children from western North Carolina, as well as parts of Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee, although some come from further away for advanced care.In 2015, Brenner Children's Hospital was ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's best children's hospitals. It is nationally ranked in Orthopedics (#48).

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is an academic medical center and health system located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and part of Charlotte-based Atrium Health. It is the largest employer in Forsyth County, with more than 19,220 employees and a total of 198 buildings on 428 acres. In addition to the main, tertiary-care hospital in Winston-Salem known as Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health system operates five community hospitals in the surrounding region. The Ardmore Historic District is a 600-acre (240 ha) national historic district located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 2,093 contributing buildings and two contributing sites. The district consists of at least ten platted residential developments from 1910 through 1924 as well as three large apartment complexes from 1947 through 1951, one of which was controversially demolished in 2021. It includes works designed by Hall Crews and by Northup & O'Brien. It includes Queen Anne and Bungalow/craftsman architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

West End Historic District is a national historic district located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 508 contributing buildings and 7 contributing structures, in a predominantly residential section of Winston-Salem. It was a planned picturesque streetcar suburb developed at the turn of the 20th century. The buildings date from about 1887 to 1930, and include notable examples of Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed H. D. Poindexter Houses and Zevely House. Other notable buildings include the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1928-1929) designed by Ralph Adams Cram, Augsburg Lutheran Church (1926), Friends Meeting House (1927), the First Church of Christ, Scientist (1924), and Joyner's West End Grocery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Truist Stadium is a ballpark in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, that replaced Ernie Shore Field. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Winston-Salem Dash minor league baseball team and primary home field of the Carolina Disco Turkeys summer collegiate baseball team. The ballpark is bounded by Peters Creek Parkway (northwest/west); 1st Street (north); and Green Street (northeast, left-center field). Salem Parkway, which carries US 158 and US 421, is toward the south/southeast.

Richard J. Reynolds High School now the Richard J. Reynolds Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts (often simply R. J. Reynolds High School or Reynolds) is a high school in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Named for R. J. Reynolds, the founder of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, the school opened in 1923. The school colors are Old Gold and Black, and the school's mascot is a demon.

The R. J. Reynolds Memorial Auditorium, located in Winston-Salem, NC, was built 1919–1924 under the direction of architect Charles Barton Keen (designer of the R. J. Reynolds estate, Reynolda House). Keen also designed the adjacent Richard J. Reynolds High School. Both buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Auditorium and adjacent school sit on a tract of land formerly known as "Silver Hill." The 28-acre (110,000 m2) tract of land now encompasses the Auditorium, the school, Hanes Park (named after the founder of Hanes Clothing Company and then-mayor James G. Hanes), the Calvin H. Wiley Middle School and the Winston-Salem Central YMCA. The Auditorium is now operated jointly by the Administration of the Richard J. Reynolds High School and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. An auditorium manager is hired to take care of the day-to-day operations of the building and scheduling of performances and events. The Auditorium is one of the oldest and largest performing arts centers in the City of Winston-Salem. The building can comfortably seat 1898 people, with 857 seats on the main Orchestra level and 1,041 seats located on the Mezzanine/Balcony area.

Sosnik-Morris-Early Commercial Block, also known as Thalhimer's, are two historic commercial buildings located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. They were built in 1929, and known as the Morris-Early furniture store building and the Sosnik's clothing store. Both buildings include elements from the popular Art Deco style. The Morris-Early building is a four-story, brick building with terra cotta ornament and cable molding. The Sosnik's building is a three-story, nine bay by ten bay, limestone faced building. The Sosnik's building was extensively renovated in 1949 by Raymond Loewy Associates, when Sosnik's and Thalhimers merged. In 1958, Thalhimer's acquired the Morris-Early store for further expansion.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Nissen Building is a 283 ft (86 m) 18-story skyscraper in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, built in 1927. It was the largest building in the city, succeeding the Hotel Robert E. Lee, and the tallest building in North Carolina from 1927 to 1929, when it was succeeded by the Reynolds Building; all three buildings were in Winston-Salem. The Nissen Building was named to the National Register of Historic Places March 17, 1983, with a boundary increase in 2004 to include a one-story addition built in 1969. With the spire on top, its height is 102.1m.It has a steel frame, with buff brick and pre-cast concrete for the exterior, along with details in granite, marble and limestone.

The Thurmond and Lucy Chatham House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a Classical Revival style stuccoed dwelling consisting of a 2+1⁄2-story main block flanked by two-bay-wide projecting hip-roofed sections. It has a tall hip roof and bluestone terrace that fills the rear courtyard of the H-shaped plan. The house encompasses 9,065-square-feet of living space. Also on the property is a contributing 1+1⁄2-story garage / apartment. It was built for Congressman and businessman Richard Thurmond Chatham (1896–1957), who also served as president of the Chatham Manufacturing Company and his wife, Lucy Hodgin Hanes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
