Rancho Yajome was a 6,654-acre (26.93 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Napa County, California given in 1841 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Damaso Rodríguez, a soldier who did not occupy the property. The rancho is east of the Napa River and north of Napa.

Hagafen Cellars is a winery located in the Napa Valley. Founded in 1979, it was the first kosher winery in California, and is "the first of the upscale kosher brands." The winery is owned and operated by winemaker Ernie Weir and his wife, Irit Weir.

Milliken Creek is an 11.9-mile-long (19.2 km) stream in Napa County, California, that is a tributary to the Napa River. There are approximately 7,300 acres (3,000 ha) in this watershed, of which 90 acres (36 ha) are developed as vineyards. Milliken Creek rises on the western slopes of the east side of the Napa Valley and flows through the Silverado Country Club property. Much of this watershed property had once been part of the Mexican land grant Rancho Yajome, which had been granted to General Mariano G. Vallejo. Most of this watershed was wilderness area to at least 1869, and thereafter the lower watershed was begun to be developed as pasture and grazing agricultural uses. In a 1989 stream survey by Earth Metrics, the steelhead fishery was found to be robust up to and including the Silverado Country Club.

Vintage High School is a public, comprehensive high school with a student body count of over 1800. It is one of three comprehensive high schools in the Napa Valley Unified School District. The other comprehensive high schools are Napa High School and American Canyon High School. In addition, the district has a small technology high school New Technology High School, an Independent Studies school, an alternative high school (Valley Oak), and four comprehensive middle schools fed by 21 elementary schools. Palmaz Vineyards is a Californian winery in the Napa Valley, primarily dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon production. The estate is located on what was once the Cedar Knoll Vineyard Company, a pre prohibition winery, founded in 1881 by Henry Hagen, one of the pioneers of wine production in the Napa Valley. After prohibition the winery fell into a dilapidated state and the winery was abandoned. The Hagen House and the vineyards have since been restored after they were bought by Amalia and Julio Palmaz in 1997. The family operated winery and vineyards cultivate some 55 acres using sustainable farming practices, devote to Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling, Muscat along with smaller plantings of Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot.Palmaz Vineyards is noted for having the largest wine cave in the Napa Valley, totaling 100,000 square feet. Palmaz Vineyards' winemaking and aging takes place within the living rock of Mount George, in a multi-leveled series of tunnels and domes. The height of the wine cave is equivalent to an 18-storey building, providing the vertical range needed for true gravity-flow winemaking. Thus, the wine is not subjected to the violent agitation of pumping, which can change the wine's intra-molecular structure. This gentle treatment allows finer nuances of flavor to develop naturally. The fermentation dome is the world's largest underground reinforced structure. It is 72’ in diameter and 54’ high. Coombsville is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located within Napa County, California just east of the city of Napa. The 11,075-acre (17 sq mi) wine appellation was established as the nation's 200th, the state's 123rd and the county's eighteenth AVA on December 13, 2011 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by Thomas Farella of Farella-Park Vineyards and Bradford Kitson, on behalf of the vintners and grape growers in the Coombsville region of Napa Valley, proposing the viticultural area named "Coombsville." The appellation is nestled in the southeastern region of the Napa Valley viticultural area, between the eastern shores of both the Napa River and Milliken Creek and the western ridgeline of the Vaca Range at the Solano County line. Proximity to San Pablo Bay contributes to the temperate climate of Coombsville where the cool marine air and fog occurs almost daily during the growing season, arriving early and linger longer in the southern region of Napa Valley. Temperatures are also less extreme during the winter frost season. The Coombsville soils are dominated by the volcanic, rhyolitic tuff sedimentary rock and lava flows of the Vaca Range on the eastern side of the Napa Valley. Coombsville lies upon wide alluvial deposits created by the weathering of the hillsides and its soils contain abundant rock, gravel and, in some areas, layered with volcanic ash deposits from Mount George. The area is the sixteenth sub-appellation designated within the 252,541-acre (395 sq mi) Napa Valley viticultural area. Its USDA plant hardiness zone is 9b.

The Atlas Fire was a 2017 wildfire burning in Napa County, California north of the city of Napa, near Napa Soda Springs. It was one of fourteen large fires simultaneously burning in eight Northern California counties, in what was called the "Northern California firestorm". Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency. The fire, which started on October 8, had by October 12 burned 51,057 acres (207 km2) of land, and was 77% contained. By October 12, the fire stretched from Lake Berryessa south to Napa, but a firebreak was established across Atlas Peak Road. It was contained on October 28, 2017. At that point in state history, the fire was the 14th most destructive and 15th deadliest. It burned a total of 51,624 acres, destroyed 783 structures, and resulted in 6 deaths.

The Culinary Institute of America at Copia is a branch campus of the private culinary college the Culinary Institute of America. The CIA at Copia, located adjacent to the Oxbow Public Market in downtown Napa, California, opened its doors in 2016. The CIA venue provides food- and wine-related courses to visitors. The CIA at Copia and The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone make up the school's California branch. The Copia campus was acquired by the Culinary Institute of America in 2015. The building and grounds were formerly Copia, a museum in downtown Napa that operated from 2001 to 2008. The campus opened in 2016 as the Culinary Institute of America at Copia, and houses the CIA's new Food Business School, as well as its Accelerated Culinary Arts Program and Culinary Boot Camps.
