Breedeveen

Leersum is a town in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, and lies about 7 km east of Doorn and 9 km west of Veenendaal. In 2001, the town of Leersum had 6013 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.44 km², and contained 2465 residences.Until 2006, there was a separate municipality Leersum, covering both the village of Leersum and Darthuizen. In June 2021, Leersum was hit by a downburst. Many cars and homes were heavily damaged by falling trees. As a result, the forests around Leersum have been closed. Staatsbosbeheer, the Dutch state forest administration, estimates that damaged sections of forest will not be reopened to the general public before the end of the year 2021.

Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is a national park in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It covers the southern part of the Utrecht Hill Ridge. When it was founded in 2003, the park covered 6,000 ha (15,000 acres) of heathlands, shifting sands, forests, grass lands and floodplains. In 2013 the park was extended to 10,000 ha (25,000 acres), adding the area north of highway A12 when the ecoduct Mollebos was realized. The most striking landscape feature is the glacial ridge after which the park is named.

Darthuizen is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. From 1818 to 1857, Darthuizen was a separate municipality. On 8 June 1857, it merged into the municipality of Leersum.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1253 as Derthesen. The etymology is unclear. The postal authorities have placed it under Leersum. Since 2013, it has place name signs. In 1840, it was home to 228 people. Nowadays, it consists of about 40 houses.

Maarsbergen is a settlement in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, and lies about 18 km east of Utrecht.

Amerongen (Dutch pronunciation: [amɛrɔŋə(n)]) is a village in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands, on the border of the Utrecht Hill Ridge. It lies about 7 km south west of Veenendaal (10.5 km by road). The landscape rises from the flat water meadows of the Nederrijn (Lower Rhine) to the Utrecht Hill Ridge ("Utrechtse Heuvelrug"). The highest point in the western Netherlands is located 2 km east of the village. The Amerongense Berg (Amerongen Mountain) has a height of 69 metres above sea level.

Amerongen Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Amerongen, [kɑsteːl amɛrɔŋə(n)]) is a castle in Amerongen, the Netherlands. It was built between 1674 and 1680, on the site of a medieval castle that had been burned down by the French in 1673. The gardens still contain historic elements such as a conservatory dating from the 1890s. In 1918, the former German Kaiser Wilhelm II signed his abdication here and stayed till 1920, when he moved to Huis Doorn.

The Andrieskerk ("St. Andrew's church") is a nowadays Protestant church in the Dutch village of Amerongen. The church's history spans around seven centuries, beginning in the end of the 13th century, when everybody in western Europe had to be Roman Catholic. With the Reformation, the church became Protestant in 1582. It is currently used by the Reformed Municipal Parish of Amerongen.

Overlangbroek is a former village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede, and lies about 11 km southeast of Zeist. The village officially merged with Nederlangbroek into Langbroek in 1978.

The Buren County was a territory situated in what is now the Dutch province of Gelderland. It was an independent county until the establishment of the Batavian Republic in 1795. Although it was not formally part of the United Provinces, in practice it was governed by it.

Woudenberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋʌudə(m)ˌbɛr(ə)x] (listen)) is a municipality and a town in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. There are forests in the western part of the municipality. The Pyramid of Austerlitz is located in the municipality.

Maarn is a railway station in the centre of Maarn, Netherlands, next to the A12. The station opened on 15 March 1845 and is located on the Amsterdam–Arnhem railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The station was moved 1 km east in 1972, and in 2005 had approximately 1,590 passengers per day. Several kilometres further the Kesteren–Amersfoort railway branches off to Veenendaal and Rhenen.
