Brettenham is a village and civil parish in the Babergh district of Suffolk, England. In 2005 it had a population of 270, increasing to 353 at the 2011 Census, and reduced to 320 in the 2021 census. Almost the entire built-up area is defined as a conservation area, and the parish also contains some ancient woodland at Ram's Wood. The village is home to independent prep school, Old Buckenham Hall.

Old Buckenham Hall School (commonly known as OBH) is a day and boarding preparatory school with pre-prep for boys and girls in the village of Brettenham, Suffolk, England.Founded in 1862, the school has been on its current site since 1956, and currently accommodates about 125 boys and 125 girls between the ages of 2 and 13 years.The school is located in Brettenham Park, a grade II* listed building in about 80 acres (320,000 m2) of parkland in the Suffolk village of Brettenham. Its pupils take the Common Entrance exam, going on to a range of public schools such as Uppingham, Oundle, Harrow, Rugby, Framlingham and The Leys.

Thorpe Morieux Woods is a 45.2-hectare (112-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Thorpe Morieux in Suffolk. Part of it is Bull's Wood, a nature reserve managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.These ancient semi-natural woods are managed by coppicing. The soil is poorly drained boulder clay, and common trees include pedunculate oak. Bramble and dog's mercury are dominant in the ground flora, with extensive oxlip in some areas.There is access to Bull's Wood, and a footpath goes through Thorpe Wood, but there is no public access to Felsham Wood or Great Hastings Wood.

Kettlebaston is a village and a civil parish with just over 30 inhabitants in the Babergh district of Suffolk, England, located around 3 miles (5 km) east of Lavenham. From the 2011 Census the population of the village was not maintained and is included in the civil parish of Chelsworth. It derives its name from Kitelbeornastuna, (Kitelbjorn's farmstead - O.Scand. pers. name + O.E. Tun), later evolving to Kettlebarston, (which is how the name is still pronounced), and finally to the current spelling. Its existence was first recorded in 1086 in the Domesday Book.

Thorpe Morieux ( Mə-ROO) is a small village and civil parish in Suffolk, England. It is 10 miles south-east of Bury St Edmunds and 10 miles north east of Sudbury. Located in Babergh district, the parish contains the hamlets of Thorpe Green and Almshouses Green, as well as Great Hastings Wood (part of the Thorpe Morieux Woods SSSI), which is classified as Ancient Woodland. It was anciently in the Cosford Hundred. There are 14 listed buildings in the parish, mostly grade II with the grade II* Thorpe Hall and the grade I parish church of St Mary the Virgin.The village is located on the river Brett.

The parish includes the hamlets of Rooksey Green and Whelp Street. The church of St Mary dates from the 14th and 15th centuries but was rebuilt in 1868 after being struck by lightning in 1758. It is a grade I listed building.Preston Hall is a 17th-century grade II* listed country house.An episode of Time Team was filmed in the village in 1996.

Rattlesden is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. It is approximately 15 miles (24 km) north-west from the county town of Ipswich, with the nearest town Stowmarket 4 miles (6 km) to the east. The parish includes the hamlets of Hightown Green and Poystreet Green.In 2005 the population of Rattlesden was 900, and for the 2011 Census the returns included the neighbouring parish of Shelland.The Anglican parish church of St Nicholas dates to the 13th century, with later additions and alterations.

St Mary's Church is the parish church for Preston St Mary, in the county of Suffolk, England. Originally built in the 14th century it suffered lightning damage in 1758, and was substantially restored by Arthur Blomfield in 1868. It is a Grade I listed building.
