Lotte New York Palace Hotel

The Villard Houses are a set of former residences comprising a historic landmark at 451–457 Madison Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Designed by the architect Joseph Morrill Wells of McKim, Mead & White in the Renaissance Revival style, the residences were erected in 1884 for railroad magnate Henry Villard. They comprise a portion of the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, the main tower of which is to the east. The building comprises six separate residences in a "U"-shaped plan, with wings to the north, east, and south surrounding a courtyard on Madison Avenue. The facade is made of Belleville sandstone, and each house consists of a raised basement, three stories, and an attic. Among the artists who worked on the interiors were artist John La Farge, sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and painter Maitland Armstrong. Some of the more elaborate spaces, such as the Gold Room, dining room, and reception area in the south wing of the complex, still exist as part of the New York Palace Hotel. The houses were commissioned by Henry Villard, president of the Northern Pacific Railway, shortly before he fell into bankruptcy. Ownership of the residences changed many times through the mid-20th century. By the late 1940s, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York had acquired all of the houses, except the northernmost residence at 457 Madison Avenue, which it acquired from Random House in 1971. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the complex an official landmark in 1968, and the residences were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. As part of the construction of the New York Palace Hotel, completed in 1980, the north wing was turned into office space for city preservation group Municipal Art Society.

Chateau Moderne was a Manhattan night club which was popular in the 1930s. It was located in a no longer extant building at 42 East 50th Street, between 5th and Madison Avenues. The establishment entered a not guilty plea to income tax evasion in Manhattan United States Federal Court on July 19, 1939.In 1935 Chateau Moderne was renovated with the bar being moved forward to provide room for a sensational stage show. The Mrs. O. H. P. Belmont House was a mansion located at 477 Madison Avenue on the northeast corner of 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States. The building was demolished in 1951.

488 Madison Avenue, also known as the Look Building, is a 25-story office building in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. It is along Madison Avenue's western sidewalk between 51st and 52nd Streets, near St. Patrick's Cathedral. 488 Madison Avenue was designed by Emery Roth & Sons in the International Style, and it was constructed and developed by Uris Brothers. The building was originally named for its primary tenant, the American magazine Look. The building largely contains a facade of white brick, interspersed with horizontal strips of aluminum windows. The lowest two stories contain a main entrance on Madison Avenue as well as several glass-and-metal storefronts. The three sides are connected by curved walls. The exterior includes several setbacks to comply with the 1916 Zoning Resolution. Each of the building's stories contain an average floor area of 19,500 square feet (1,810 m2), a feature intended to maximize usable office space. 488 Madison Avenue was constructed from 1948 to 1950 as a speculative real estate development, without a main tenant. By late 1949, the building was completely leased, and it was named after Look magazine, which had signed a lease for several floors. 488 Madison Avenue remained the headquarters of Look until the magazine stopped publishing in 1971, although it continued to be known as the Look Building for several years. The building has been owned by John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and The Feil Organization since the 1970s. The Look Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated it as an official landmark in 2010.

350 Park Avenue is a planned supertall office tower in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, designed by Foster + Partners and to be developed by Vornado Realty Trust and Rudin Management. The proposed 62-story, approximately 1,600-foot-tall (490 m) structure is planned to be occupied by anchor tenant Citadel LLC, with the hedge fund company working closely with the developer and architecture firm in the design of the tower. 350 Park Avenue is proposed to contain 1,800,000 square feet (170,000 m2) of commercial office space, of which Citadel is to occupy approximately 850,000 square feet (79,000 m2). The proposal also includes the construction of a 12,500-square-foot public concourse fronting onto Park Avenue and a contribution of over $35.8 million for the city's East Midtown Public Realm Improvement Fund, as part of its public-private agreement in conjunction with the City of New York.

18 East 50th Street, also known as the Hampton Shops Building and the New York Health & Racquet Club Building, is an office building in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Located on the south side of 50th Street, on the middle of the block between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, it was designed by William Lawrence Rouse, Lafayette Anthony Goldstone, and Joseph L. Steinam. 18 East 50th Street is designed in the Neo-Gothic style, sometimes referred to as the Perpendicular Gothic style. The style was chosen because it complemented the St. Patrick's Cathedral complex across the street. The 11-story building has a facade of grey terracotta that resembles granite. The building has no setbacks, as it was built before zoning ordinances required them. The Hampton Shops, founded in the early 1860s as the Grand Rapids Furniture Company, sold traditionally-styled furniture. The building site was leased in 1914 and the store at 18 East 50th Street was constructed from June 1915 to March 1916. Hampton Shops subsequently acquired the lease before going bankrupt in 1938. The building was then divided up and leased to art and design businesses. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated 18 East 50th Street as an official landmark in 2016.

Tower Fifth is a skyscraper proposed for Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The developer, Macklowe Properties, has completed other projects including the redevelopment of the General Motors Building and construction of 432 Park Avenue. Plans for the structure were first revealed in January 2019, and the developer continued purchasing buildings to create an assemblage in 2019, closing on a building in March 2020, and continuing to eye buildings in June 2020. Demolition permits were first filed in April 2020.It will be 1,556 feet (474 m) tall. If completed as planned, it will become the fifteenth tallest building in the world and the tallest in New York City by roof height, surpassing the nearby Central Park Tower by about 6 ft (2 meters).

The CBS Studio Building is a seven-story office building at 49 East 52nd Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It has had various uses at different times, including serving as a Vanderbilt family guest house, the first graduate school of the Juilliard School, CBS Radio studios, and Columbia Records studio. It is currently owned by the Fisher Brothers, who converted it to an office building in conjunction with construction of the 45-story Park Avenue Plaza to its east.
