St. Xavier Parish Commercial School, officially The Convent School, was a private secondary school in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1904 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, it remained open until 1960. It was associated with St. Francis Xavier Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Fr. Francis J. Finn, S.J., served as its first director.The school was located on Sixth Street downtown, between Sycamore and Main Streets—most likely at 520 Sycamore St. It offered "a two-year course of study—primarily for women—in the business arts", including "stenography, book-keeping, and typesetting". Boys from St. Xavier High School also took typing classes there; once the Commercial School closed, the high school moved to Finneytown and the parish remained at the downtown location.Tuition was $50 a year during the 1950s.

St. Francis Xavier Church is located at 611 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, Ohio. This was the location of the first diocesan cathedral and the center of early Roman Catholic life in Cincinnati. It was dedicated to St. Peter on December 17, 1826. "Christ Church" (founded 1819), the city's first Catholic church was located at Vine and Liberty streets, in the "Northern Liberties" area, at the time outside of the city. A story that the church had to be built on the outskirts of the city because anti-Catholic prejudice prevented a Roman Catholic church within city limits has been shown to be false by church historians. Its frame building was moved on wheels to Sycamore Street in 1826 to serve as the first seminary. Saint Francis Seraph Church now is on the former site, on land purchased from James Findlay. St. Francis Xavier has existed as its own parish since 1845 when the cathedral was moved to Saint Peter In Chains Cathedral at Eight & Plum Streets. The parish has been under the direction of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) since 1840. The present brick edifice with stone facing and ornate clock tower was built in 1860. Xavier University and St. Xavier High School were founded next to the St. Xavier Church. Both institutions have since moved to separate locations due to space constraints and expansion. Today the church serves the downtown community.

East Fourth Street Historic District is a registered historic district in Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in the National Register of Historic Places on February 22, 1988. It contains a row of 3 side-by-side contributing buildings dating circa 1860. The former headquarters Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company, completed in 1929, although not a contributing property, stands next door to the cluster of buildings at the southwest corner of Fourth and Main streets. Its tower can be seen in the left side of the image.

The Maisonette, now defunct, was North America’s most highly rated restaurant before it closed its doors on July 25, 2005.Owned and operated by the Comisar family and located since 1966 at 114 E. 6th Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Maisonette boasted the longest running streak of five-star awards, the highest designation given by Mobil Travel Guide. That streak ended at 41 years when the Maisonette closed. Opinions vary on what caused the restaurant to lose its luster. Fewer people frequented the luxury restaurant, operating costs increased, and the City of Cincinnati refused to offer a tax break to the downtown landmark. The Maisonette had plans to move to Kenwood, a suburb of Cincinnati, where it would reinvent its image, hoping to attract a more modern, younger crowd; however, the Hamilton County Planning Commission rejected zoning for the proposed Sycamore Square project, a $60 million development that included a relocated Maisonette as the anchor tenant. Instead, the top-rated French cuisine restaurant auctioned off all of its assets through a two-day auction hosted by the Great American Group auction firm. The most expensive item sold at auction was the Maisonette's name/logo, which sold for $35,000. The restaurant originally opened in 1949. In 1964 the restaurant won its first 5-star rating from Mobil. In 2013, the Phoenix Restaurant Group located in Cincinnati, OH acquired the trademark for The Maisonette in order to preserve and safeguard its history and reputation.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (in case citations, S.D. Ohio) is one of two United States district courts in Ohio and includes forty-eight of the state's eighty-eight counties–everything from the Columbus area southward. Appeals from the court are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit at Cincinnati (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). The United States Attorney's Office of the Southern District of Ohio represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. On February 12, 2014, Peter C. Tobin was confirmed to be the United States Marshal. As of November 2021, the United States Attorney is Kenneth L. Parker.

The Potter Stewart United States Courthouse is a courthouse and federal building of the United States government located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and housing the headquarters of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Completed in 1938, it was renamed for Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart in 1994. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Antonelli College was a for-profit career training school with a main campus located in Cincinnati. Founded in 1947 as the Gebhardt Art School, the college later switched its name to Ohio Visual Art Institute in the mid-1970s then renaming itself to Antonelli College in 1982. In 2016, Antonelli College was ranked one of the top ten most expensive two-year colleges in Ohio

Krippendorf-Dittman Company is a registered historic building in Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in the National Register on March 3, 1980. Formerly the Krippendorf-Dittman Shoe Company factory, the building has been converted to Sycamore Place luxury loft apartments. The street level retail space presently holds the Sycamore Gallery art collection of University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.

The PNC Center is a 108-meter (354 feet) tall office building located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is located primarily in the Central Business District and borders Main Street and East Fifth Street. The building's 27 floors are used for office and commercial use. On the southeast corner of Fifth and Main streets is a public plaza. Built in 1979, this skyscraper was the tallest completed in Cincinnati during the 1970s decade. It initially served as headquarters of Central Trust Bank, which PNC acquired in 1988. With the acquisition, PNC also became the lead tenant of the historic PNC Tower, Central Trust's headquarters before the 1979 building was constructed. The building's exterior is typical of 1970s architecture. It features a lightly colored exterior wall with tinted rectangular windows. Unusual for architecture of the time, there are a number of setbacks in the building, both horizontally and vertically. The building has no crown or topped area which is also typical of 1970s architecture. The roof is flat. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merril.

Designed by Joseph G. Steinkamp & Brother, the Neoclassical-styled Hotel Metropole opened in 1912 in downtown Cincinnati as a 10-story hotel. In 1924 an 11th floor penthouse apartment was added. In 1971 the building was converted to low-income housing with retail and restaurants on the first floor.In June 2009 the building was added to the NRHP and later that year it was announced that it would be converted into a 21c Museum Hotel with "156 guest rooms, a contemporary art museum with more than 8,000 square feet of exhibition space, a restaurant, and meeting space."

Metrobot is an electronic public art sculpture designed by Nam June Paik. At the time of its unveiling in 1988, it was Paik's first outdoor sculpture and his largest. Since 2014, it has stood in front of the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) on Walnut Street in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, United States.

Hudepohl Brewing Company is a brewery established in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1885 by founder Ludwig Hudepohl II. Hudepohl was the son of Ludwig Hudepohl who emigrated from Malgarten, Kingdom of Hannover, in 1838. Ludwig II had worked in the surgical tool business before starting his brewery. Hudepohl combined with Schoenling Brewing Company in 1986. Today, the Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. The brewery name is also said to be the origin of the "Who Dey" chant done by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals. The slogan went on to be produced on special edition cans of "Hu-Dey" beer for the various Super Bowl runs of the Bengals in 1981, 1989, and most recently 2022.
