Designed by Joseph G. Steinkamp & Brother, the Neoclassical-styled Hotel Metropole opened in 1912 in downtown Cincinnati as a 10-story hotel. In 1924 an 11th floor penthouse apartment was added. In 1971 the building was converted to low-income housing with retail and restaurants on the first floor.In June 2009 the building was added to the NRHP and later that year it was announced that it would be converted into a 21c Museum Hotel with "156 guest rooms, a contemporary art museum with more than 8,000 square feet of exhibition space, a restaurant, and meeting space."

The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) is a contemporary art museum in Cincinnati, Ohio and one of the first contemporary art institutions in the United States. The CAC is a non-collecting museum that focuses on new developments in painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art and new media. Focusing on programming that reflects "the art of the last five minutes," the CAC has displayed the works of many now-famous artists early in their careers, including Andy Warhol. In 2003, the CAC moved to a new building designed by the late Zaha Hadid.

Hudepohl Brewing Company is a brewery established in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1885 by founder Ludwig Hudepohl II. Hudepohl was the son of Ludwig Hudepohl who emigrated from Malgarten, Kingdom of Hannover, in 1838. Ludwig II had worked in the surgical tool business before starting his brewery. Hudepohl combined with Schoenling Brewing Company in 1986. Today, the Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. The brewery name is also said to be the origin of the "Who Dey" chant done by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals. The slogan went on to be produced on special edition cans of "Hu-Dey" beer for the various Super Bowl runs of the Bengals in 1981, 1989, and most recently 2022.

The Burger Brewing Company was an American brewery based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and one of the staple breweries of the region through the 1960s. At the company's peak, it was deeply associated with the Cincinnati Reds and then broadcaster Waite Hoyt through marketing campaigns. Bürger Classic and Bürger Light were brought back to local ownership in 2009 and are now owned by the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company.

The Maisonette, now defunct, was North America’s most highly rated restaurant before it closed its doors on July 25, 2005.Owned and operated by the Comisar family and located since 1966 at 114 E. 6th Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Maisonette boasted the longest running streak of five-star awards, the highest designation given by Mobil Travel Guide. That streak ended at 41 years when the Maisonette closed. Opinions vary on what caused the restaurant to lose its luster. Fewer people frequented the luxury restaurant, operating costs increased, and the City of Cincinnati refused to offer a tax break to the downtown landmark. The Maisonette had plans to move to Kenwood, a suburb of Cincinnati, where it would reinvent its image, hoping to attract a more modern, younger crowd; however, the Hamilton County Planning Commission rejected zoning for the proposed Sycamore Square project, a $60 million development that included a relocated Maisonette as the anchor tenant. Instead, the top-rated French cuisine restaurant auctioned off all of its assets through a two-day auction hosted by the Great American Group auction firm. The most expensive item sold at auction was the Maisonette's name/logo, which sold for $35,000. The restaurant originally opened in 1949. In 1964 the restaurant won its first 5-star rating from Mobil. In 2013, the Phoenix Restaurant Group located in Cincinnati, OH acquired the trademark for The Maisonette in order to preserve and safeguard its history and reputation.

The Palace Theatre was a historic movie palace in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Constructed at the dawn of the Roaring Twenties, it originally housed stage acts before conversion into a movie theater. Named a historic site because of its architecture, it was demolished in the early 1980s following years of financial failures.

On September 6, 2018, a mass shooting occurred in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. At 9:10 AM EDT, Omar Santa Perez, 29, opened fire with a Taurus PT-809E 9mm pistol equipped with standard and hollow-point ammunition, in the lobby of the Fifth Third Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, killing three people. He was then shot and killed by responding police officers.

Fifth Third Center is a skyscraper located in downtown Cincinnati, in the U.S. state of Ohio on Fountain Square. The building has 30 stories and rises to a height of 423.23 feet (129.00 m). It is currently the fifth-tallest building in Cincinnati. It was designed by Harrison & Abramovitz and completed in 1969. The building serves as the corporate headquarters for Fifth Third Bank. On September 6, 2018, the building was the site of a mass shooting, in which four people were killed, including the suspect. Two others were also injured in the shooting.

The Sherith Israel Temple is located at 624 Ruth Lyons Lane (originally Lodge Street), in the backstage entertainment district in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the oldest existing synagogue building west of the Allegheny Mountains and the fourth oldest building in downtown Cincinnati. It is the seventh oldest synagogue building in the United States. The synagogue was built in 1860 and was an active synagogue until 1882. After that the building served as a warehouse, plumbing supply house, and machine shop. Chris Cain, the city's historic preservation officer said, "This is a building of importance". Despite the history of the former Sherith Israel Temple downtown, the city officially decided it should not be declared "historic" in 1998. Officials debated more than a year whether the building, once an Orthodox Jewish synagogue, should be saved. The former synagogue was saved from demolition, renovated, and today houses condominia.

The Tyler Davidson Fountain or The Genius of Water is a statue and fountain located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is regarded as the city's symbol and one of the area's most-visited attractions. It was dedicated in 1871 and is the centerpiece of Fountain Square, a hardscape plaza at the corner of 5th and Vine Streets in the downtown area. It is surrounded by stores, hotels, restaurants and offices. Originally, and for more than 130 years, it was located in the center of 5th Street (Fountain Square's original configuration), immediately west of Walnut Street. In 2006, renovations were undertaken to Fountain Square and the Tyler Davidson Fountain was temporarily removed. When reinstalled it was relocated to a much wider space near the north end of the reconfigured square, closer to the Fifth Third Bank Building and away from street traffic. The fountain is turned off for the winter months and turned on again in time for the first home game of Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds.

Fountain Square is a city square in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1871, it was renovated in 1971 and 2005 and currently features many shops, restaurants, hotels, and offices.

The Cincinnatian Hotel is a registered historic building in Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in the National Register on March 3, 1980. It is a member of the Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Since 2018, the hotel has been owned by SREE Hotels of Charlotte and the hotel has been managed by Hilton Worldwide and is part of its upscale Curio Collection brand.
