Bodenwerder (Samtgemeinde)

The Münchhausenstadt Bodenwerder is a municipality in Holzminden district, Lower Saxony, Germany. It lies on the river Weser and is best known as the birthplace and residence of Baron von Münchhausen.

Lenne is river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a 24 km (15 mi) long, right-hand, eastern tributary of the river Weser in the district of Holzminden in the Weser Uplands.

Bodenwerder-Polle is a Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Holzminden, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its seat is in the town Bodenwerder. It was formed on 1 January 2010 by the merger of the former Samtgemeinden Bodenwerder and Polle. The Weser Uplands (German: Weserbergland, German pronunciation: [ˈveːzɐˌbɛʁklant]) is a hill region in Germany, between Hannoversch Münden and Porta Westfalica, along the river Weser. The area reaches into three states, Lower Saxony, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia. Important towns of this region include Bad Karlshafen, Holzminden, Höxter, Bodenwerder, Hameln, Rinteln, and Vlotho. The tales of the Brothers Grimm are set in the Weser Uplands, and it has many renaissance buildings, exhibiting a peculiar regional style, the Weser Renaissance style. The region roughly coincides with the natural region of the Lower Saxon Hills defined by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN).

Spüligbach is a river of Lower Saxony, Germany. The Spüligbach springs southeast of Bremke, a district of Halle. It is a right tributary of the Lenne at Linse, a district of Bodenwerder.

The Vogler is a range of hills, up to 460.4 m high, in the Weser Uplands in southern Lower Saxony (Germany). Together with the Solling, the Vogler forms the Solling-Vogler Nature Park which lies a couple of kilometres further south.

At 460 metres (1,510 ft) above sea level the Ebersnacken is the highest hill in the forested uplands of the Vogler in Lower Saxony, Germany. The hill is situated in the district of Holzminden about half way as the crow flies between Bodenwerder to the northwest and Stadtoldendorf to the southeast. On the summit, which is surrounded by the northern part of the Solling-Vogler Nature Park, stands an observation tower, the Ebersnacken Tower (Ebersnackenturm), from which there is not only a good all-round view of the surrounding Weser Uplands, but also a view eastwards as far as the Harz mountains. At the foot of the tower is a barbecue hut. No roads lead to the Ebersnacken; it can only be reached on footpaths, for example from the Holenberg to the southeast.

Kirchbrak is a municipality in the district of Holzminden, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The municipality lies only a few kilometers east of Bodenwerder. Through Kirchbrak flows a small river called Lenne, a tributary of the Weser. It consists of five small villages and hamlets, named Kirchbrak, Westerbrak, Osterbrak, Breitenkamp and Heinrichshagen. Kirchbrak is situated on the northern edge of the hilly area Vogler. Kirchbrak has two monumental buildings: the Lutheran Saint Michael's Church, built in the 12th century, containing a remarkable 18th-century church organ and a 17th-century altarpiece; only open to visitors for attending Sunday services. the AMCO-Fabrikerweiterungsgebäude (AMCO factory enlargement building; built in 1925), an industrial monument designed by the famous architects Walter Gropius and Ernst Neufert; especially remarkable, because it is one of the earliest architectural creations in which Neufert took part.
