The Weser Uplands (German: Weserbergland, German pronunciation: [ˈveːzɐˌbɛʁklant]) is a hill region in Germany, between Hannoversch Münden and Porta Westfalica, along the river Weser. The area reaches into three states, Lower Saxony, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia. Important towns of this region include Bad Karlshafen, Holzminden, Höxter, Bodenwerder, Hameln, Rinteln, and Vlotho. The tales of the Brothers Grimm are set in the Weser Uplands, and it has many renaissance buildings, exhibiting a peculiar regional style, the Weser Renaissance style. The region roughly coincides with the natural region of the Lower Saxon Hills defined by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN).

Bodenwerder was a Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Holzminden, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its seat was in the town Bodenwerder. On 1 January 2010, it merged with the former Samtgemeinde Polle to form the new Samtgemeinde Bodenwerder-Polle. The Samtgemeinde Bodenwerder consisted of the following municipalities: Bodenwerder Halle Hehlen Heyen Kirchbrak Pegestorf

Bodenwerder-Polle is a Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Holzminden, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its seat is in the town Bodenwerder. It was formed on 1 January 2010 by the merger of the former Samtgemeinden Bodenwerder and Polle. The Samtgemeinde Bodenwerder-Polle consists of the following municipalities: Bodenwerder Brevörde Halle Hehlen Heinsen Heyen Kirchbrak Ottenstein Pegestorf Polle Vahlbruch

The Münchhausenstadt Bodenwerder is a municipality in Holzminden district, Lower Saxony, Germany. It lies on the river Weser and is best known as the birthplace and residence of Baron von Münchhausen.

Halle is a municipality in the district of Holzminden, in Lower Saxony, Germany.

The former Grohnde Nuclear Power Plant is located in Grohnde in the Hamelin-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony. It had one reactor that used 193 fuel assemblies and utilized both enriched uranium and MOX fuel. In 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1998 the reactor produced more net electricity for the respective year than any other reactor in the world. The plant was of the pressurized water reactor type, using four water based coolant cycles, kept under high pressure. In 2021 the plan passed the mark of 400 TWh total low-carbon electricity output since it was connected to the grid.The plant was decommissioned on 31 December 2021 as part of Germany's transition to a renewable energy future.

The Pyrmont Uplands (German: Pyrmonter Bergland) are a muschelkalk region within the Lower Saxon Hills and covers an area of 180 km2. Their maximum elevation is about 350 metres above sea level (NN). The valley of the Emmer divides the uplands into the Ottenstein Plateau in the east and Pyrmont Heights (Pyrmonter Höhen) in the west. In these muschelkalk hills lies the Pyrmont Basin (Pyrmonter Talkessel) on the fault lines of which mineral and brine springs rise, and to which the town of Bad Pyrmont owes its status as a spa town. The Ottenstein Plateau is used for agriculture. On the hill of Pyrmonter Berg is the only large area of deciduous forest. In spite of its poor soils, agriculture dominates: grasslands follow the rivers in the valleys. Forestry is carried out on the Pyrmont Heights. The valley of the Emmer stream has been declared as a Special Area of Conservation; part of it also has nature reserve status.
