Betzdorf railway station

Betzdorf (Luxembourgish: Betzder [ˈbætsdɐ] ) is a commune and town in the canton of Grevenmacher, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2017, the town of Betzdorf, which lies in the north-east of the commune, has a population of 254 inhabitants. Other settlements within the commune include the commune's administrative centre, Berg, as well as Mensdorf, Olingen, and Roodt-sur-Syre.Betzdorf Castle is the headquarters of SES, the world's largest satellite operator in terms of revenue and one of the four largest components of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange's main LuxX Index.

Hagelsdorf is a small village in the commune of Biwer, in the canton of Grevenmacher, in Luxembourg. As of 2018 it has a population of 21 inhabitants.

SES Astra SA was a corporate subsidiary of SES, based in Betzdorf, in eastern Luxembourg, that maintained and operated the Astra series of geostationary communication satellites between 2001 and 2011. Formed in 1985 as Société Européenne des Satellites (SES), it was Europe's first private satellite operator. In November 2001, upon the purchase of GE Americom from General Electric (renamed to SES Americom), SES Global was formed as the parent company to SES Americom and SES Astra. SES Astra was formed at that time as a subsidiary company to contain all of SES's existing European based satellite operations. In September 2011, SES Astra and sister subsidiary SES World Skies (formed from SES Americom and SES New Skies) were merged back into SES S.A. to streamline operations under a single management system. Subsidiaries of SES Astra, such as HD Plus and ASTRA Broadband Services became direct subsidiaries of SES. Flaxweiler (Luxembourgish: Fluessweiler) is a commune and small town in south-eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Grevenmacher. As of 2001, the town of Flaxweiler, which lies in the north-west of the commune, has a population of 338. Other towns within the commune include Beyren, Gostingen, Niederdonven, and Oberdonven. The Mayor of Flaxweiler is the chief executive of the administration of the Luxembourgish commune of Flaxweiler. The incumbent mayor is Théo Weirich.

As of June 2018, the town of Biwer, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 1,403 inhabitants. Other localities within the commune include, Boudler, Brouch, Hagelsdorf, Wecker, and Weydig.

Olingen (Luxembourgish: Ouljen) is a small town in the commune of Betzdorf, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2001, the town has a population of 380. The comune of Betzdorf is one of the richest in Luxembourg and has many expensive and stylish properties.

Wecker is a small town in the commune of Biwer, in eastern Luxembourg. It is located on banks of Syr River. As of 2022, the town had a population of 749. The largest employer is the tool factory Proxxon S.A.

Wecker railway station (Luxembourgish: Gare Wecker, French: Gare de Wecker, German: Bahnhof Wecker) is a railway station serving Wecker, in the commune of Biwer, in eastern Luxembourg. It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 30, which connects Luxembourg City to the east of the country and Trier.

Widdebierg is a hill in the commune of Betzdorf, in eastern Luxembourg. At 386 metres, it is one of the highest points in the canton of Grevenmacher. It is in the centre of a nature reserve (named Widdebierg after the hill), which lies between the towns of Flaxweiler, Mensdorf, and Roodt-sur-Syre.

Eschweiler (Luxembourgish: Eeschweller) is a village in the commune of Junglinster, in central Luxembourg. As of 2018, it had a population of 181.

The Beidweiler longwave transmitter is a high-power broadcasting transmission site owned by RTL Group and operated by RTL company Broadcasting Center Europe. It was used to transmit the French-speaking programme of RTL on longwave frequency 234 kHz until 1 January 2023. Based in Beidweiler, Luxembourg, the transmission site is situated at 49°43'58" N and 6°19'08" E and went into service in 1972 as replacement of the old Junglinster Longwave Transmitter. Junglinster remained in use as a backup site and for additional broadcast services.
