Ermesinde

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Portuguese: Igreja do Sagrado Coração de Jesus) is a Modernist church in the civil parish of Ermesinde, in the municipality of Valongo, in the Portuguese district of Porto. The religious sanctuary actually goes by several names, including the Church of the Good Shepherd or Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a shrine dedicated to the worship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Alfena is a Portuguese city and parish in the municipality of Valongo, Portugal. The population in 2010 was 18,130, in an area of 15.7 km².

Rio Tinto lies just outside the city of Porto.

Pedrouços is a Portuguese parish located in the municipality of Maia. The population in 2011 was 12,149, in an area of 2.57 km².The place of Pedrouços was the most important and populous of the Águas Santas parish. As an autonomous religious parish it has been in existence since 1928, but the civil parish status (Freguesia) was only given to it in 1985.

São Mamede de Infesta, or simply São Mamede, is a former civil parish in the municipality of Matosinhos in the Greater Porto area, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish São Mamede de Infesta e Senhora da Hora. It has a population of approximately 28,000 inhabitants and is located just north of the city of Porto.

The Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) is a research & development institute located on the campus of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal). The Battle of Ponte Ferreira, fought on 22–23 July 1832, was the first major battle of the Portuguese Civil War between the forces of Dom Pedro, ex-Emperor of Brazil and Regent for his daughter Maria da Glória, and the army of his brother Dom Miguel, who had usurped the throne of Portugal. Though technically a victory for Pedro's forces, it gave him no lasting advantage because the enemy were not pursued and were able to return in full strength, as a result of which he was besieged in Porto for an entire year.

Valongo (Portuguese pronunciation: [vɐˈlõɡu] (listen)) is a Portuguese municipality located in the District of Porto and 10 km from Porto, in the northern region of Portugal. The municipality area consists of 75.12 km² and 93 858 inhabitants (2011), and is subdivided into four parishes. The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Santo Tirso, to the northeast by Paços de Ferreira, to the east by Paredes, to the southwest by Gondomar and to the west by Maia. It consists of the cities of Alfena, Ermesinde, Valongo (city) and the towns of Campo and Sobrado.

Estádio Engenheiro Vidal Pinheiro was a multi-use stadium in Porto, Portugal. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of S.C. Salgueiros. The stadium was able to hold 11,000 people. It was demolished in 2006 to make way to a subway station for Metro do Porto.
