The Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) is a research & development institute located on the campus of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal). INESC TEC is a private non-profit association, recognised as a Public Interest Institution and has been an Associate Laboratory since 2002. The purpose of INESC TEC is to act as an interface between the academic world, the world of industry and services and the public administration in Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Electronics (ITT&E). INESC TEC invests in Scientific Research and Technological Development, as well as in Advanced Training and Consulting, Technology Transfer and supports the Establishment of new Technology-based Companies.Present in 6 sites in the cities of Porto, Braga and Vila Real, INESC TEC incorporates 13 R&D Centres and one Associate Unit with complementary competences, always looking to the international market. INESC TEC brings together more than 700 researchers, of which around 350 have PhDs.

The Faculty of Architecture and Arts at the Lusíada University of Porto (Portuguese: Faculdade de Arquitectura e Artes da Universidade Lusíada do Porto) is a private institution that offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in architecture and design. Located in Porto, Portugal, FAAULP belongs to the Lusíada University of Porto.

The Lusíada University - North (former Universidade Lusíada do Porto) is a Portuguese private university located in Porto and founded in 1991.

The University Hospital of São João (in Portuguese Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, abbreviated CHUSJ), or simply São João Hospital, is the biggest hospital in Northern Portugal and one of the biggest in Portugal. The hospital is named after John the Baptist, São João in Portuguese and has been operating since 1959. Its main facilities are located in Paranhos, Porto, where it hosts a medical school, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. Additionally, it manages a secondary hub in Valongo. The hospital provides direct medical care to the parishes of Bonfim, Paranhos, Campanhã e Aldoar, within the municipality of Porto, as well as to the neighbouring municipalities of Maia and Valongo. It also serves as a referral centre for the districts of Porto (except for Baião, Amarante and Marco de Canaveses), Braga and Viana do Castelo. Through the National Hospital Referral Network (Redes de Referenciação Hospitalar), it acts as a referral hospital for a broader geographic area of around 3.5 million people, particularly in highly specialised medical fields. It has 1,100 beds and over 6,000 employees, including approximately 1,500 physicians and 2,300 nurses. The University Hospital of Sâo João accounts for 20% of public hospital care in northern Portugal and in a year it performs approximately 40,000 surgeries, 750,000 consultations, 127,000 treatment sessions and handles 250,000 emergencies.

Hospital de São João is a light rail station that is the terminus of line D of the Porto Metro system in Porto, Portugal. It is named after the nearby University Hospital of São João. It serves the hospital as well as the Asprela Campus of the University of Porto, and is a transfer point between the Metro and urban and suburban bus services. The station is followed by IPO station. The station platforms are on the surface, and are directly accessed from the street. There are two terminal tracks, each served by a side platform. Although the central section of line D opened in 2005, the IPO and Hospital de São João stations did not open until 31 March 2006, with the line terminating at Pólo Universitário station in the interim. This was because the Escola Superior de Enfermagem, a nursing school, objected to the new line because of safety concerns from the trains running near the entrance of the school. Before opening, the sidewalk was set back and a traffic light was placed at the intersection to reduce the risk of accidents between trains and cars. Between 29 August 2021 and 28 January 2022, the station was closed for a renovation project, which involved the construction of a covered interchange. During this period, alternate trains terminated at IPO and Pólo Universitário stations.

IPO is a station on Line D (yellow line) of the Porto Metro, Portugal. The station is at the northern end of the University of Porto campus and is named after the nearby Instituto Português de Oncologia (Portuguese Oncology Institute). Although Line D opened in 2005, the IPO and Hospital de São João stations did not open until March 2006. The Escola Superior de Enfermagem, a nursing school, objected to the new line because of safety concerns from the trains running near the entrance of the school. The sidewalk was set back and a traffic light was placed at the intersection to reduce the risk of accidents between trains and cars. The opening extended Line D to Hospital de São João station. Before this time the line terminated at the preceding Pólo Universitário station. The line operates as a ground-level tram at this station.

São Mamede de Infesta, or simply São Mamede, is a former civil parish in the municipality of Matosinhos in the Greater Porto area, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish São Mamede de Infesta e Senhora da Hora. It has a population of approximately 28,000 inhabitants and is located just north of the city of Porto.

Pólo Universitário is an underground light rail station on line D of the Porto Metro system in Porto, Portugal. It is situated under Rua Alfredo Allen on the University of Porto campus, from which it takes its name. Immediately to the north of Pólo Universitário station, the line emerges from its tunnel and continues at street level for the remainder of its route. The central tunnelled section of line D, including Pólo Universitário station, opened on 17 September 2005, with trains initially running from Câmara de Gaia, to the south. Pólo Universitário was the northern terminus until 31 March 2006, when the line was extended to Hospital de São João. The line has since been extended from Câmara de Gaia to Vila d’Este. The station is preceded by Salgueiros and followed by IPO stations. On weekdays, trains run every five to six minutes, declining to every 10 minutes on weekends and evenings. The station platforms are underground, and there are two through tracks, served by a single central island platform.

Portucalense Infante D. Henrique University (UPT) (Portuguese: Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique (UPT)) is a Portuguese private university established as a cooperative on the basis of the Decree No 122/86 of 28 June 1986.

Estádio Engenheiro Vidal Pinheiro was a multi-use stadium in Porto, Portugal. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of S.C. Salgueiros. The stadium was able to hold 11,000 people. It was demolished in 2006 to make way to a subway station for Metro do Porto.

Polytechnic of Porto - School of Engineering (ISEP) is a public polytechnic higher learning and research engineering institute, located in the city of Porto, Portugal. ISEP is divided in 8 departments, with an emphasis on applied science and technology. ISEP was founded by the minister Fontes Pereira de Melo in 1852 as Escola Industrial do Porto (Porto School of Industry) to support the industrialization of Portugal, and some time later upgraded to Instituto Industrial do Porto (Porto Institute of Industry). Since 1989, was grouped with other schools in the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Its motto is Saber Fazer — "Know-how". Today, ISEP is one of the biggest and best known engineering schools in Portugal, with well over 6000 students and 500 faculty members. It has research facilities for real-time systems, artificial intelligence, knowledge based systems, and decision support systems, some of them internationally recognized as leading R&D centers (e.g. GECAD, CISTER, LSA) as accredited by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia of the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.

Visiting only by booking, the Casa Museu Fernando de Castro (Fernando de Castro's House Museum) is a historical house, located in the city of Porto, Portugal, that belonged to Fernando de Castro, a Portuguese poet, caricaturist, merchant and collector. It contains several paintings from the 17th to the 20th century, sculptures and ceramic pieces. The museum is now under administration of the Soares dos Reis National Museum.
