Hogeveen

Hazerswoude-Dorp is a village in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, South Holland, about 7 km southwest of the town of Alphen aan den Rijn. Hazerswoude-Dorp is a peat excavation settlement which developed in the Middle Ages. It turned into a linear settlement along the dike on the Oude Rijn. A circular canal was dug around the view to prevent a prolapse of the village.The Dutch Reformed church is a single aisled cruciform church. The tower dates from 1646 as a replacement of its medieval predecessor. The church itself was built in 1658.

Hazerswoude is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It contained the towns of Hazerswoude-Dorp and Hazerswoude-Rijndijk, and the villages of Groenendijk and Bent. Hazerswoude was a separate municipality until 1991, when it became part of Rijneveld.Rijneveld, in 1993 changed in Rijnwoude, has been a part of Alphen aan den Rijn since 2014.

Benthorn is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, about 2 km east of the centre of Benthuizen. Benthorn used to be a heerlijkheid (manor), owned by the States of Holland and West Friesland. It was sold to Adam Adriaan van der Duyn, lord of 's Gravemoer, in 1724. In 1812, Benthorn became a part of the municipality of Hazerswoude, but on 1 April 1817 it became a separate municipality again.According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, in 1840 Benthorn consisted of 0.85 square km and had 10 inhabitants in 2 houses. Because of the small size of the municipality, it was merged into Benthuizen in 1847.Part of the hamlet had to be demolished for the construction of the high speed railway HSL-Zuid, and only three farms remain. The name of the hamlet no longer appears on recent topographical maps of the area.

Moerkapelle is a small town in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 6 km east of the city of Zoetermeer, in the municipality of Zuidplas. Moerkapelle was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1991, when it merged with Zevenhuizen, to create a new municipality originally called "Moerhuizen". In 1992, it changed its name to Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle.Its name is derived from the combination of moeras (swamp) and kapel (chapel).

Hazerswoude-Rijndijk is a Dutch village located in the province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, and lies about 5 km west of the village center. Hazerswoude-Rijndijk is a peat excavation settlement which developed in the Middle Ages south of the Oude Rijn.The Catholic St Bernardus Church is a single aisled church built between 1854 and 1855. The polder mill Groenendijkse Molen was built in 1627 as a wooden windmill. It was considered for replacement by a stone windmill several times. An electric pumping station was installed in 1959. In 1966, the windmill was bought by a foundation and restored to working order. It operates on a voluntary basis.

Oosterheem has 23,379 citizens, using 8,554 houses. It has a coverage of 363 ha (370,2 ha with water included).

Rijnwoude (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrɛinˌʋʌudə] (listen)) was a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covered an area of 57.89 km2 (22.35 sq mi) of which 1.20 km2 (0.46 sq mi) was water. Rijnwoude was formed in 1991 as Rijneveld through the merger of the former municipalities of Benthuizen, Hazerswoude and Koudekerk aan den Rijn. In 1993 the municipality was renamed to Rijnwoude. In 2014 the municipality was dissolved and its land area was amalgamated into Alphen aan den Rijn. The municipality of Rijnwoude consisted of the communities Benthorn, Benthuizen, Hazerswoude-Dorp, Groenendijk, Hazerswoude-Rijndijk (location of town hall), Hogeveen, and Koudekerk aan den Rijn.
